Wet Dry World was honestly an amazing stage in my opinion-my #1 favorite. I remember spending hours as a kid just exploring that underwater abandoned town and trying to come up with stories about it. My other favorites are probably Tiny Huge Island and Whomp's Fortress, as well as Hazy Maze Cave. Dire, Dire Docks was probably the only stage that I didn't like very much- i still thought the submarine was cool though.
Do you suffer from a brain tumour? What kind of fucking opinion is that? Clearly 64 has much better levels then WET DRY WORLD. Seriously reconsider your favourite 64 world
I feel WDW is definitely misunderstood. But I can understand why it might be frustrating to navigate for a first-play-through. DDD is definitely a worse course.
Its a good stage but number 1 WHY
Among my favorites, too! And I HATED Rainbow Ride as a kid and still do now :)
Rainbow Ride is the worst whaaaaat
Dire dire docks is the worst
@Manek Iridius True, but Rainbow Ride is the worst. It even taunts you with the most annoying music and 98% of the time you either wait or fall to your death.
And Hazy Maze is one of the best.
1. Tiny Huge Island: as a fan of Dinosaurs and things giant, I approve. Just have fun! 2. Big Boo's Haunt: quite a few unique paths and things in this "secret" level 3. Hazy Maze Cave: similarly, you unlock the metal cap, meet Nessie and just take many paths. 4. Bob-omb Battlefield: Just a fun and easy stage where you don't get punished for exploring 5. Jolly Roger Bay: the iconic eel and sunken ship, treasure, and soothing music 6. Snowman's Land: Another toolbox area to just have fun with invisible walls and ice bullies. Not as punishing as Cool Cool Mountain. 7. Wet-Dry World: very fun and creative puzzle/toolbox land 8. Shifting Sand Land: a very complex stage with puzzles and even entering a pyramid! Sadly, that quicksand is EVERYWHERE and instantly kills you! 9. Lethal Lava Land: entering a volcano and tons of bullies! But...fucking lava is a pain, and it's just smaller and slightly less impressive than Sand Land. 10. Cool Cool Mountain: fun, but even easier to instantly die from fucking penguins or the damn wind. 11. Tall, Tall Mountain: not as many instant deaths, but it's just a tall and boring mountain 12. Dire, Dire Docks: a really small and forgettable stage. Bowser's sub is cool though 13. Whomp's Fortress: good variety, but did everyone forget that any mistake in the whole level basically forces you to redo the whole stage?? Frustrating! 14. Tick Tock Clock: Boring and frustrating! 15. Rainbow Ride: ANNOYING. BEYOND. BELIEF. Worst stage ever. Nightmarishly atrocious.

Hazy Maze Cave is my favorite stage, specially because it got my favorite cap power-up, Metal Mario (it felt so good just running over things in that form) and because it is the only Mario stage where you can RIDE A LAPRAS xD It also was so big and felt like an actual maze, I got lost so many times in this stage.

It's not. The stage is just crap.
Wet Dry World is the most nostalgic for me because when my cousin and I were younger, he had a used copy and it was mind-blowing to see how wet dry World worked. But my favorite course is probably Tiny Huge Island
The stage is just unfinished
Yeah, it's a solid stage. Just industrial and ugly. Navigating takes forever so it's slow to iterate on puzzle solving. You can basically avoid those little tosser robots too, so as long as you aren't trying to scale upwards while it's dry it's not that terrible of a level.
that theory is just dumb yeah the skybox might be creepy and the town but the main area is just a couple of floating platforms and blocks
It took me years to find the Snowman’s Land course in castle. This was before KZhead existed and I couldn’t find any game manuals to this game at the time.
Wait it is herd to find? I haven't played 64 yet
actually found it by myself because of the toad
Doom fry it’s in a room with a mirror and the level is the only thing in the reflection that isn’t reflected in the actual area so you gotta jump where it would be in the actual area. It’s not too hard if you talk to toad outside but if you didn’t it’s hard to notice

There’s literally a Toad outside the room that tells you to look at the mirror to see what doesn’t match... Fail!
Love this game so much. The 90s was a pretty amazing decade
It was a much better time... people actually had jobs , social media didn’t dominate our lives and people didn’t pretend their lives were just perfect when behinds the scene it was actually hell usually (though granted this very comment and video is use of social media, it wasn’t near as scary to walk outside and meet people like it is today, and the news while notoriously bad back then, it’s even worse now with all the political division and bullshit. When I was a kid our only division was whether you liked Pokémon or Digimon (and of course because I lived in Alabama, whether you were Alabama or Auburn , they drilled that shit early on) now we are divided on literally everything, everyone seems to hate each other and the world is literally getting worse slowly but surely.

A good way to rank every level in SM64, if I may suggest to all of you, is using as term of comparison the difficulty in catching every single COIN inside of it. For example Tiny-Huge Island and Lethal lava land are extremely difficult. Tiny-Huge Island with the record of 191 coins (I am not considering the impossible coin since it requires the use of a bug inside the game) and Lethal lava land with 133 coins in total are EXTREMELY difficult because they have no space for mistakes. In lethal lava land above all you have to be careful to not miss a coin coming from a bomb that need to be pushed in the lava from a very significant height at the top inside the vulcano, and that passage has to be done after you have collected all the previous coin outside the vulcano. Even Hazy Maze cave with 139 coins is quite a challenge. Especially because of a coin from a bat basically next to the big hole where the rocks fall. The other levels have no particular difficulties if studied well chosing with path to follow in order to not miss any coin. Trust me, try to experience SM64 in this way and you all can appreciate the depth inside every level.
What an amazing game. And it was on for the N64. Simply mindblowing
I would definitely put tiny huge island lower in my opinion as I found the 100 coin star way too frustrating
Jump On Everything - FYI, if you ground pound the goombas when you’re tiny, you’ll get a blue coin (5 coins) instead of a normal
