Fascinated by the way you sneak up on the marks, saw cut well away from the line then carefully chisel up to the finish line. Very important, I see now. Thank you.
Looks like the beginning of a table or bed frame. Solid as a rock and elegant as fine China. Thanks for sharing this video with us.
但是現在中國基本上已經沒人傳承了,會這項技藝的人越來越少,畢竟這項技藝需要的時間和精力去學習無法量產。
@@user-xq5kz7dp9c sorry to break it to you but he is not talking about China, the country you are from.
Well said
Another really nice corner joint, I like the simplicity of it, at the same time it looks likely to be strong too.
Thank you H Carpenter....you show what can be done without all the fancy, new fangled gear that's sold to the population. In your hands , simple tools become wonderful things to make the imaginings of your mind come true... I learn every time I watch you ..
Wow! What Craftsmanship! It must be rewarding to see your results at the end of the day.
As usual, the master craftsman creating a unique, unprecedented, unparalleled , masterpiece.
I love all these joints but please put a picture of the plans in the video or something Please!!
тысячелетиями так дерево обрабатывали, а теперь емейзинг скилл)
…I never saw a combination square on that bench, BRAVO! Incredible skills accumulated through so many years of building and practice. I just have a question…the tools don’t look like Japanese chisels neither the saw (doesn’t look like a Dozuki, Ryoba or Katana)…the wood used does not look like Hinoki or Keyaki, but more like Mango wood…
Great work. Still I have a question: Isn´t that open end of dovetail on second pice weakpoint of whole joint? Seems to me to be easiest part to break, considering wood grain... Left this piece more connected with rest of beam by some sort of plating (not have that dovetail open through whole width of beam) could make it more robust and at the end it could cover that dovetail joint of third piece after final assemby. But just asking.
My man chisels right through the knot and still gets a perfect dovetail
Beautiful, clean, straight forward work. Done with the utmost minimum of tools and great intelligence.
. .
Amazing, Japanese craftsmanship without any of the praised Japanese tools 😀
How you make your tools so sharp like a samurai
Wet stones and elbow grease. The right kind of chisel material helps: folded steel.
Fantastic workmanship! What isnthe name of this joint please and where might I find drawn details of how to create it. Also, what is the species of wood used. Thanks in advance!
A lifetime handmade joint. Congratulations ! What kind of wood do you usually use ?
Absolutely beautiful craftsmanship. I wish someone would've taught me joinery like that when I was younger.
Never too late to learn
David, I am 63, just diagnosed with head/neck cancer and about to go thru treatments, and I have decided this will be my stress relief work. I can’t do this stuff either, but I need a challenge to take my mind off my health issues. You practice the skills and you be That person to pass it on to someone else. You can do it, it’s wood and metal. If we mess up, try it again on the other end.
I settled down for another relaxing Japanese woodworking ASMR experience but no. I turned it down to half speed and he was still working too fast. My anxiety was going nuts - "Slow down! You're going to mess up! Gentle strokes with the saw! You're not trying to start a fire! Oh no!" Good job, though. That was a very interesting joint.
One day I'll use that exact joint for my bed frame. Looks amazing
Thank you for your compliments, you are not satisfied where can you tell us so I can fix it. Hope you have the best experience
I'm still a beginning woodworker so I'm curious; when using a chisel, how do you decide to face the bevel up or down? In other words, against the material or against the waste? And why?
The flat part against the material, so the waste is being removed by the angle
@@mati--mahtee9901 Yet I've seen other woodworking videos, including this one, where they use the bevel facing downwards. Watch 6:24, 6:51 and 14:15
The flat on the line for precision. Careful though. The bevel makes the cut dive in the opposite direction. For general work bevel down for control.
I always enjoy watching your videos. Thanks.
yes ♥
Please include the measuring parts. This is 🔥
Great work without all the over priced tools. Real skill......
Inspiring!
Bonjour Monsieur. Avec quel bois travaillez vous ? Il a l'air assez dur !
Never have I watched a KZhead video so intently.
Thank you for sharing. Another amazing joinery technique.
👍👍👍
Simply amazing. You make that look so easy. I can't even imagine the time it takes to learn how to do something as complicated as that joint. Just WOW !
You are so amazing 👍
Are you pleased ?
What species of timber suitable for this joints?
I would say timbers with a density at least similar to oak
A trusted sharp chisel can go a long way in the creation of arts and crafts...just ask Michelangelo.😁
Holy Moses. Incredible.
dedicação total!
I totally agree with all the insightful lovely comments.
Excellent woodworking skill, Bravo! Domo Arigato Gozaimzsu.
❤❤❤
Excellent job, lots of work but well worth it. Great work.
👌👍
I know some joinery techniques that was taught to me using only hand tools, but you take it to a whole new level
Of course, the master knows better. But SUCH tolerances that 3/4 of the film has to be cut down - isn't it too much? And a power wedge with a defect - something does not pull the name "amazing"...
Amazing JAPANESE woodworking skills…
Do you like the new product?
@@HCarpenter it’s amazing. True craftsmanship.

Complimenti...come sempre ottima manualità
Very nice. Good thing the humidity didn't change before that was done, or it may not have fit. Lol
A true Master Chisel Master !!!! Can you please show how you sharpen your chisels? Thank You I really enjoy your videos 👍🏻
The hands of a master.
You are very talented I just had to subscribe to your channel so I could see more. Could you tell me what is the angle of the bevel on your chisel that you use to shave the sides of the dovetail ?
You can find it at woodworking stores
Awesome nice carpentry working design that I haven't came a cross keep it up this is now the real carpentry working should be done your skills are to the next level iam impressed, not just impressed i will learn it thanks alot
Stunning work again. Amazing skill
💐💐💐
Espectacular la inteligencia y la mano de obra 👏👏👏👍👍👍
Truly brilliant work......congratulations!
What name is for that handsaw blade? Very small but sharpnese
just normal blade
such a fantastic joint it is amazing to see it done. Question how do you have you chisels sharpened since your chisels are shaped differently to the european style is it flat honed on a stone or just interested to learn what you do for them?
Hi, this is just an example of joint right? It's not real project, but when you do real project like this, do you glue it afterwards? Also what is the wood you are working with here?
Nice job!!! You make a difficult task look soooooooooooooo easy. Well done
you should try it at your garage
This helps to appreciate the craft of wood working with a basic hand tool without any power tools
Laborioso pero está súper saludos desde Edinburg TX
What kinda wood you use?
MAN that chisel is sharp.
Am I the only one that is nervous about the outside dovetail pin snapping when the joint expands?
I did it myself thanks to Stodoys.
parabéns show de talento
this feels so good
I fell nervous
He's better than most. He does not use an additional piece of wood to guide his chisel in making flat surfaces.
all that effort to make those joints and he's bashing them together without a sacrificial buffer between hammer and wood. OH!
Increíble 👏🏽 nice 👍🏼 jobs
Does anyone know the stock dimensions for the different wood joints? I assume this particular one is 6 inch x 6in stock. Is it possible to create this joint and some of his others in a 3x3 or 4x4 stock? Thanks
Magnificent work!
You have blunt chisels. You’re a top carpenter, but I can see your chisel could be sharper through action of shaving strokes.
Beautiful 👏
Fantastic work i love it
Anyone know what type of chisels those are? Maybe if the camera angle, but they look almost like they are shaped like a dovetail
Amazing just amazing, I will asked again would you consider to take this American student
I would be interested to know what timber he is using?
I'll just put this on the H-Shelf
Es todo un Maestro Saludos Cuidese Mucho
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👊🇧🇷💯
Really amazing skills. Mind blown, liked and subbed.
you make nice square corners
excelente trabajo
Inspiring
I definitely need a banana shirt !
Here from Ikea; which isle has your furniture?
du beau travail.bravo
Very nice work. What wood is that?
ide bgus , tp terlalu lama dan boros waktu , this very long time
This is wonderful !!!
Voilà de la maîtrise digne de ce nom. Je ne me lasse jamais de regarder le maître.
Very clever joint
Despite a weak point in the last piece assembly, it is a masterpiece. Thank you very much. Some dimensional improvements only needed. Thumbs up!
what species of wood is that?
Nice work thanks for showing use this and lets have more great videos please
Out of this world !
how do you get your chisels so sharp
Sensacional , obra de mestre mesmo parabéns !
What kind of wood?
Einfach klasse👍👏👌
👏👏👏👏
