Is the Samsung Odyssey G65B Gaming monitor still good in 2024? Today, I have the Samsung Odyssey G65B 32" QHD 240hz 2024 year in review of this smart, very versatile gaming monitor.
This Odyssey monitor includes Game Motion Plus, a feature found on the latest Samsung Tvs, for example: LG calls it Truemotion. It takes your image and interpolates it from 60fps to 120fps, all while giving you about 25ms in input lag vs. the LG's Truemotion of 85ms.
This Game Motion Plus makes your games and movies look smoother and clearer in motion. It is like DLSS3 but on a software level. Smart apps like KZhead and Amazon Prime are here to give you more entertainment options. The included built-in stereo speakers are a nice addition, making this a full featured monitor for the price. While primarily a 1440p 240hz gaming monitor, it has all the features allowing you to place it anywhere you need that Tv like gaming experience.

VA + Mini LED might be the best alternative to OLED, as OLED is still pricey. Nice to know that LCD still have good choices. I also find monitors from China are catching up.
I just hope more monitors get the full display port 2.1 but i might get the hp omen anyway because it's white but I'll see i need to wait and see when the rest comes out before i buy anything

Hi Victor, great video as always! I’d like to ask if motion plus only increase 60 fps to 120 or it can also enhance 30 fps to 60 fps? Also does it worth it over NEO g7 just for motion plus considering I’m on Xbox series x since there are still 30 fps games like starfield? Your answer would be highly appreciated.
The issue is 30fps to 60fps is very subtle. It's working but sometimes I cannot see the improvement. It's best at 60fps. It is easily seen. If you check back, I will play a game on that weekend gaming showcase and I'll see if 30fps to 60fps is improved with this new update. I'll update and report back. I really haven't tested 30fps like I said. But 60fps games are improved...
Please sir, u have to tell more about the input lag on 60hz. I'm playing fighting games competitively but I don't know how much of a deal breaker the 60fps input delay is, as this budget monitor has otherwise everything I ever wanted including hdmi 2.1 and a va panel with good price. The Rtings say 17ms on 60hz input lag and also 17ms on response time but I would love to know the experience better
With motion on there is a bit more of delay vs it off. But keep game mode on fornlowest input lag. Vrr control off. I never had a problem playing even at 60hz. Competative players wont want the game motion but single players or casual will enjoy it. The new 2024 Tvs and monitors have a newer chip and will make tbis option even better. I dont think its a deal breaker at these prices for all that you get. 17ms is not bad and i have tested 20ms vs 9ms on a gigabyte m28u and the ms gaming difference was hardly noticable. I say no worries...

@@johnprivat4379 i tried street fighter alphas 1-3. now it wasnt night and day tho. Sure lower the better but unless you need to play competative you should be fine. There has been a newer firmware so im not sure if it made it a bit better. I have no way to test ms lag sorry.

I dont understand why would you wonna increase the fps throght this feature and not just through simply changing the settings? For example on ps5 turn on VRR choose 120hz and on the monitor set it to 240.. why use this feature?
Consoles will not do anything at 240hz. This motion plus is for games at 60fps/60hz and will software/hardwsre it to 120fps. Just like dlss3 but this is not native. This way say a game that does not support 120fps (majority) and only support 60fps will look smoother and closer to 120fps. Movies too.

Yes on the 49" G95SC version and OLED G8 34" ( NOT on G93SC ver.)

On my channel, I demonstrated how local dimming works on the Samsung Odyssey G6 monitor. Local dimming works terribly, much worse than on the old G7 2020.

8bit+frs = 10 bit. "fake 10 bit" but still looks great

Its the camera recording as when I record with that LED lighting it makes it seen. My camera is ultra sharp so it picks up the pixels. Lol
Which inch is better to choose: 27 or 32?
32" better immersion as the curve is easier on the eyes.

Its a VA panel with 32 Vertical Zones. On Best buy under highlights it shows VA panel. Its kind of hidden lol
@ViktorsReality I know VA panels are nortriuos for having bad smearing on them. How's this one. I was going to get that new oled 32 inch asus, but to be honest even with my strix 4090, that 240hz is nothing but a dream, lol.

Not really. Maybe for the smart features but otherwise the G7 is more deep as thr zones really turn off vs these on the G6 that do not fast enough.
