Wow! You're a Legend dude! Favourite Content Creator by far!
You rock Cleetus
@J O wow. hate much?
@J O Cry.
From finding Cletus at 21k subs to owning his own track and everything he has accomplished what a absolute dude loved watching the growth
The sushi GTR video for me.
I remember subbing to him during the ram duck call days, pretty surreal man
I found him when I was like 14-15 and I'm 19 now about to be 20 been a min wit cleeter
On god 😂 from watching him buy Leroy and the turbo whistles to a legend 💯
Been a while since he had a leased 1500 with a procharger
Dave sparks knew what he was doing. Invite Cleet over to his cabin, let him drive the ripsaw all over the place for 3 days. Let it marinate in Cleet's mind for 2 weeks. Then... "hey man i got this ripsaw I need to sell" LOL
@@carsonsorensen3859 bro what are you on
Lol. They did the same with the Dale truck. It's pretty easy to sell someone on crap when it's not his money. I mean he is kinda a griffter. Sells t shirts for a huge mark up. To simple minds.
@@kdoeone i will pay the huge markup for the sheer entertainment i get from this channel. I have a burmout truck ready for cleetus and cars indy
Haha, no doubt!
Exactly! Lol this is just like the hovercraft phase 🤣
coming from someone that was in the army and drove tracked artillery pieces... no matter how tight the tracks are you will either break or detrack it if you turn sitting still like that more than like 45 degrees at a time and it gets even worse in sand or dirt because then you are pushing all the dirt/sand against the side of the tracks
Having rubber tracks is a lot worse when making turns from a standstill because of the traction they provide as well
Don't make it too tight when doing track tension because you will prematurely stretch out your track. Also constant high speed (heat) will stretch track over time too. This becomes a safety issue when ripping on it and you throw track. 2 cents from an US army tanker.
Great, accurate advice. And while I'm at it....Thank You for your service. ☝🇺🇸
HOOAAH!! B63 here US Army tanker/ treadhead and DAT! LOL HOOAAH

@@jimhusselman4012 lol...classic, respect ya'll!☝🤙
land speed record for a tracked vehicle is less than 100MPH. If Cletus doesn't claim it I will be very disappointed lol
Weird cause my snowmobile does 115+
@@Skatinsince1997 it's gotta be double tracked, and no skis
@@SovietPenguins yeah, more grip, that's why I think it's weird.
I don't know if that counts as I believe that "tracked" means the only thing touching the ground are tracks, whereas your snow mobile has skis on the front
Its the friction of the tracks that holds them back. Those rubber tracks would burn up.
Minor tip from what i learned in military with tanks: do not make those hard turns (other track fully locked) more than like 45 degrees at a time. Otherwise on off-road you'll get rocks and other shit between your track and wheel and it'll de-track itself.
I was going to comment the same thing
Another "minor tip", don't let Whistlin' Diesel ride a snowmobile next to you.
@@PJBluntz Natural selection at its finest though……..
@@izzyboss6875 boo
Being in the military, you would know this as a tracked vehicle, not a tank. Only one tank model in inventory with the US military anymore.
This video made me really happy. It's nice to see you guys get to enjoy something that you've all worked so damn hard to get to. You guys deserve it all congratulations! How about a "Hell yeah brother!" for our boy Dave Sparks for hooking Cletus and crew up with a badass tank for a sweet deal. Nothing like seeing friends helping friends out and Dave is one of those guys who goes above and beyond in that department.
That brake setup thing is cool. I too thought it was just an open diff that braked proportionately to steering angle, but it's a fair bit more complicated than that - would love to hear Jackstand do a tech overview of that setup - he's good at explaining tech shit. Very cool buy. While I'm a bit partial to the OG one (the single seater tube chassis), this is like a snowcat if it was designed by vehicle enthusiasts, lol. Very cool, look forward to content with this.
Tank safety: Make sure you have an escape route before you run that in the swamp. You need to be able to get out of that if it rolls over and fills with water or catches fire. A hatch in the floor would be ideal. Whatever the escape plan is, practice it until you can get out quickly even when blindfolded.
Truth!
@Mark Deaton close...Air Force intel...forever heartbroken for those young Marines and Soldiers who were lost in the rivers and canals of Iraq when their tanks rolled over and they had no way out.
Stryker rollover procedures anyone?
It's gotta be pretty damn hard to roll this tank, right? Seems like the COG is pretty low. No turret.
@Mark Deaton I came out of OTS as a 37A...was a section commander of the AF's largest (and rowdiest) munitions squadron at Kadena AB...learned a lot about administrative UCMJ actions running that orderly room...they called me "Dracula" for all the red ink I marked up their draft EPRs and awards with...ended up winning base personnel manager of the year in '97...next assignment intel school...retired in 2014 many deployments later...
I think I’m more excited about the Aussie Holden vy ss Ute in the background at 0:50 …toasts replacement??!!!
This is a must
Same here. I remember years ago when he teased buying one while in Australia
Going to be mental
This is absolutely the coolest vid ever. Was a 440 armor medic. And favorite uncle was uncle cleetus. But thats icing on the cake. Loved the track fix. Desantis is greatest gov
I was in artillery in the Army, and I've thrown some tracks on M-109 howitzers plenty of times. Those tracks are in like 14" sections though. It was still a pain to replace those track sections, but I imagine it's a nightmare (and very expensive) to replace an entire single-band track just because one part of it is jacked up. Look into getting a sectional track!
This comment exactly. I was thinking the same thing (from experience) working on these types of systems I hope he has a good mechanic(s) and a lot of green backs usd to waste. SNAFU if I have ever seen one.
at that speeds i doubt segmented tracks work very well, weight is an big issue...
@@pouncepounce7417 You know, I was thinking about that too. Sectional tracks ARE a lot heavier since each section has a steel frame. It would slow it down considerably I imagine.
@@korndogz69 I think one could make an rubber track that is split into sections. What i would wonder if the price tag would make it worth it, producing an long rubber track compared to segments that need embedded bushings to connect them. I know mainly about bandvagons tracked they are compared much slower but with them no one bothered to make segmented tracks either, they have the same style and they are build in series and run in many militaries around the world.
@@pouncepounce7417 My thought process was you could keep a stack of sections on hand and replace them as needed as opposed to replacing an entire track just because one piece of it tore, or had a large chunk of it missing. Making sectional tracks out of rubber has the obvious problem of withstanding the expanding and contracting forces. That would be introducing weakness and many more points of failure into the track. The ends where the sections are bolted together is where the most likely points of failure would be. Maybe if the rubber is thick enough, it can handle it?
Damn! I saw the Holden and I'm assuming thats the new burnout car and I'm pumped! The ripsaw is epic too! Ole cleet out here living his best life
Agreed, I know there was an importer over there for a while but that one looks like a standard s pack ute. Exciting times ahead.
Its been in the background for a while, totally unsure what's happening, but man am I here for it
I was thinking same and didn’t motion have one as well a while back
5:46 The ripsaw is bloody amazing and I can't wait for more content on it. But the Australian in me spotted something in the form of what looks to be a Holden Ute that's missing some bits. Circa VY 2001-2003ish... Interesting... :D
yeah I've noticed that in the background of a few vids now, I'm pretty sure all of us Aussie fans really want to know whats happening with that!
I noticed that as well
That will be toasts replacement I rekon

Awesome show guys! Up for a challenge? Because of the lubricating value of diesel fuel - take a diesel engine clean all the oil out of it replace the oil filter w/ a fuel filter hook up the suction side of the oil pump to the fuel tank hook up the suction side of the fuel pump to the bottom of the oil pan not sure how to maintain a constant level of fuel in the oil pan also not sure if the gaskets will hold up to the diesel fuel Advantage to this if it works (w/ longevity of the motor) would be you wouldn't have to change the oil Scott

@@chrisoconnor3119 I feel really old now thinking back on that show, but the ripsaw itself is a neat thing with no real application right now for the most part. Facts, nobody else does what Cleet does. The track, the ripsaw, just awesome content. Often imitated, never duplicated. Now every KZheadr will run out looking for a tank.
That tank looks like a moneypit. Very expensive to maintain & fix I reckon?
The track tensioner bolts have two nuts. The outer one is the locknut; to adjust, wind it off the inner nut while holding the inner nut with a second spanner. Locknuts always need two spanners. (Wrench in US.)
Love the Ripsaw, love what you're doing with it, looking forward to some great videos. BUT! The Ripsaw is not a tank in any way shape or form. It is a tracked vehicle along the lines of an APC. Definitely gonna want to service those shocks I doubt they’ve ever been.
Cleetus you need to build a duramax for drag and dirt drags I think that would be a cool addition to the channel
I like how a lot of people complain about how expensive these things are. ($425,000) But military tanks are much more expensive. (M1A1 Abrams, about $8,000,000) Military tanks may have no luxury at all, but the Ripsaw is basically a Pinto when looking at suspension and driving systems. Especially with the turning system on this thing.
