Nice to see tools back again, keep up the good work
Iv just ordered one for tomorrow. Can’t wait for it to arrive
I’ve just bought one of these to go along side my Kewtech stopgap I’ve always been a megger snob but I do prefer the kewtech test leads much stronger and more Versatile where u might want to do r1 r2 test via a socket break out adaptor the megger leads are a pain to get in there !
This Feb I treated myself to a TIS MFTECO-EV, so far so good. My only qualm is the longevity of the tips themselves. They do wear down awfully quick. The unit itself felt a little strange at first as I've only ever used the conventional shaped MFT's like the Megger Fluke & Metrel. This does look like an awesome bit of kit though. 👍
It's a thing of beauty. This is on my wishlist for sure 🙌🙌
Its a lovely machine
@@Tools4Sparks Hopefully I can get it on a payment plan
great video. What’s your thoughts on kewtech MFTs compared to Megger/Fluke? Cheers
Yay! It's back! This was really helpful actually! Felt sad as you weren't posting as* the content along with the tools were getting pretty outdated. Ty!
More to come!
Interesting to see, I don't have a Megger MFT, but they seem pretty advanced. For the earth stake test it has 3 options, you can use the 3 test stakes as you stated, or you can buy current and voltage clamps as extras, you can then to a combination test with 1 clamp and 2 test stakes, or do a complete stakes test using both of the clamps. It also has a built earth leakage measurement as well, if you have the current clamp. The earth button you pressed is for touch voltage measurement and not the earth stake test.
We have one, I actually LIKE the bag that comes with it... we use the velcro bits to divide test leads from charge leads :) ... croc clips live on the neck strap. Agreed re: the single use plastic on the adaptor, i guess it's cheaper than having one custom made :( Word of warning, the official leads, the strain relief doesn't last long. Something they need to work on IMO. Those things for the end of the probes are called 'bibblybobs' and they last about 2 weeks
I like Megger too but I feel they have a lot of issues and go wrong a lot. I’ve just gone and bought a Kewtech KT66DL and that for me is the best meter on the market. Absolutely love it!
does it run on a rechargeable battery pack or cell batterys?
as far as ı know you choose clamp section on the left side under RE then you can use brown ones for the right side they are for megger voltage and amp clamp so you can use as a clamp tester and i m sadly old enough to what is floppy disc :(
I have the MFT1741, not the + version. For EV testing purposes is there a requirement to test the 6ma DC protection within the EVCP?. I cant find any info on this and don't want to spend £1300 on a new tester if I don't need to. It seems like that is the only difference between the 1741 and the 1741+. Thanks
Id like to buy one but all the arc fault testing in amendment 2 makes me think id be better off waiting till the MFT has the appropriate tests for said arc fault testing, only tester on the market that im aware of that does this is Metrel but its over £2K!
Will you be giving the Megger mft-x1 a run?
I’ve got 1741+ the Bluetooth function connected to there old Discontinued software so doesn’t currently have a purpose. Earth electrode using there add on set with 3 test probes
can u do a video of your megger vs fluke fc1664?
Check out some Sonel testers in my country many guys use them.
YESSSS!
Hi Jordan, I'm 64 now and remember the old black flopy disk's. They were very thin and measured 5.25 inches or in your language 12.5Cm. Nice vid but my tester is a DI-LOG DL9118, I think that it's a very good tester for the price and to be honest most testers do the same job, just that some have fewer features, but does everyone use every feature on their tester? I think not.
I used the 8" floppies (or was that 10? memories going!!!) when I was starting out 😀
Been waiting over 4 weeks for mine now. Supplier says Megger cannot get enough to them to fulfil their orders.
What do you find rubbish about Metrel? I have their multimeter and am quite satisfied ...
My megger still has a crank handle on it
Please ca your post regularly on this channel? I really enjoy the content but seems seldomly uploaded🥺
We have shot loads of videos lately and will be uploading every Monday and Wednesday each week from now on! Hope you enjoy!
Either buy the fluke case or the velocity tester bag or a veto mb bag
New tester bag video coming up soon 😏
Boom!
First! Well done!
Is that you artisan?
Megger MFT1741 or Fluke 1664FC ? 🤯 can’t decide
I've just got rid of my Fluke in favour of a Megger FYI
@@Tools4Sparks have you seen the new megger out in Feb ? Might hold on for that looks the nuts
One further comment, >600v is technically overrange for the MFT1741, i'd be careful, could invalidate the warranty etc :( I tend to always prove those on a known live source. Bit of a beotch that the regs no longer require us to test the A type as 'A type' :\ ... and yes the ramp test is bloody useful :)
Looks like an SD card symbol, not floppy.

No
Yap, yap, yap, why you don't tell the truth about Megger 1741 vs Fluke 1664 FC but avoid and baaa like sheep all day long. Come on be real men.
