I’ve been playing this game on mobile for about four or five months now, and I came here to say that it is DELIGHTFUL. Like, easily the best game I’ve played on my phone in a LONG time. I never imagined they’d port it to Switch, but I’m so happy more people are gonna get to try this wonderful gem :D
As someone who is used to playing hard difficulty ratings of these puzzles, does this game get tougher or stay at a basic level? Just concerned because the trailer only showed the easier stuff that doesn’t need thinking ahead. I’ll probably get it regardless (my 1000s of puzzle clears on Puzzle Madness are split between the difficulties anyways) as it’s nice to just chill out to puzzles.
@@keithbellic2629 Most of the puzzles shown are the tutorial and beginner difficulty ones. The neat thing about this game is that you don’t have to unlock the higher difficulty puzzles-you’re free to tackle them right out the gate! And as someone who has also logged countless hours in various picross and sudoku games, some of them can get pretty tricky (the daily Shikoku puzzles for example tend to stump me good). So yes! There is in fact a decent level of challenge available!

At 1st I thought this was a cute but mindless color by numbers. I'm so glad I looked at the comments cause I am a Picross fanatic Edit: only meant it was similar to Picross, never meant to imply I thought it was just like it. Thanks for tipping me on Shikaku though!
Yeah, it’s not picross, but it’s a puzzle game through and through. I freakin love games like this. Way more than picross ^^
I get how you relate *picross with numbers. I could say it's closer to a minesweeper but for safe squares instead of mines. The challenge would be if theres a lot numbers on a small space or only few numbers on a big space. I'm just glad it isn't just a coloring game (even though there is a custom coloring feature in the game). *Edit: Actually, I do remember with previous Picross game mode that combines 2 rows or 2 columns and hints a number for both of them. So that mode surely is closer in this game. In short, I'm so intrigued, glad this game releases today.

Yes, basically! Except rather than do the entire picture at once, you’ll do it chunk by chunk in little mini puzzles: for a teddy bear, you might do an arm, then a paw, then different parts of the torso, the face, etc.
Also, picross has spaces that are designated with numbers, while this kind of puzzle has no spaces. So it's almost "picross easy mode" because you're just filling all the spaces.

@@BenHDR not at first but could get challenging. As the higher stages, I expect the numbers to be more numerous/sporadic and placed in complex manners as to confuse the player (ie: multiple 2s and 3s in the same spot)

This looks like it could possibly fill the big, Picross shaped hole in my heart. I mean, nothing can replace Picross 3D (where’s the sequel, Nintendo!), but maybe it can come close.

As someone who had desperately been trying to fill that hole as well, I can confirm that this will more than likely do the trick. Been playing this game on mobile for months, and it’s just so so satisfying.
I've, frankly, been hoping Picross 3D either gets ported to Switch or gets a sequel.
The closest I found to Picross 3D on the Switch was Voxelgram, which also has three dimensional nonogram gimmick, but nowhere near as slick and polished.

It's a Thai studio, though. I mean, they also literally did the Thai Sawasdee greeting when they introduced their game (unless you didn't watch the Indie Direct).

I might actually enjoy this... used to play a crossstitch version of color by numbers all of the time. Seems like its similar to picross style games (which I always struggle with) but having a image actually sorta mapped out might make this more enjoyable than frustrating.

While watching the IndieWorld I feared that this game, while it looks great, it would be really easy and not fun. Boy, I was wrong. Although it's not super easy per se, it has enough of a challenge to keep me entertained while doing some chill puzzles. I really recommend it.

Yeah. I only just learned this today. Thanks for everyone who says it's Shikaku. I just played a Shikaku game online and yeah, it can be challenging, but it's really fun. Combining it with embroidery, really is a lot of fun.

Bad mobile port. Nothing is designed for widescreen and it shows. Neither the gameplay nor the UI is made to be used with a controller. It has potential but they did the bare minimum here. Could be fixed in future updates.
