    • If he was 6 and a half years old in this footage, and he's born in 87' that would mean this is 1993 footage, whereas there was a war between Croatia, Bosnia and Yugoslavia (today's Serbia) at the time. There was huge inflation in the country, the currency was meaningless, people were fighting over bread. I think this is in Czech Republic, I heard someone else talking in Czech in the background. Novak was definitely out of country back then, his parents probably had the money to stay in a foreign country until the war ended. That was considered a luxury back then. As for '99 year that other comments mentioned, he was obviously 12 at the time. Well, all's in past and we moved on from the nineties horror shows. I'm just 2 years younger than Novak, but I remember how fucked up things were.

  • Amazing to think that a young kid like this can grow up to be the best player in the world. He's currently ranked #1 and is #3 in all time Grand Slam titles only behind Nadal and Federer. He's also still young enough and playing well enough to potentially top them in GS titles before his career ends. If I'm not mistaken he's also the only player to hold winning records against both Nadal and Federer. Incredible journey! I can only imagine all of the hard work and sacrifices it took to get Novak where he is today. Am a fan of his and wish him much continued success! 05/15/19.
