Only problem with Echoes is once you start to listen you cannot stop, so everything you planned to will be delayed 23 minutes and 36 seconds.. But it will always be totally worth it.
You mean the only problem with echoes isn't even a problem!!!!
@@middlechild2022 That's another way to put it, yes. 🙂
so true. i just pop it on and am trying to figure out if I want to eat dinner that just got done .... 😀
The real problem with Echoes is that it ends.
I'm just cleaning my house bruh. This song slaps. That's the trick. Put this into your chore Playlist and it'll never feel like chores
Even 52 years later, the next generations are still coming across the greatest music of all time.
55 years. But I totally agree 👍💯😊
Con 14 años y me hize fanatica de bandas como Pink Floyd y algunas modernas como maneskin y artic monkeys 🫵

Definitely an 80's lover. I love everything from George Thorogood to Dolly Parton, all things in between. The Guess Who, Phil Collins, Michael Jackson, you name it, it's on my playlist. I think people forget how important music is. This album is a big reminder for me.

1973. In my room. On my king-sized waterbed. Marantz receiver and speakers plus two other speakers with horn tweeters. Turntable playing this song on real vinyl. Blacklight. Insence. And I wasn't alone. Her name was Nora. Aaaah, the memories.
I got goosebumps thinking about that.
Was it a 2275

I'm 23 and I love Pink Floyd and many of my friends in my age or even younger do as well. Never let this music die.
Echoes is not only one of my favourite Pink Floyd songs, but one of my favourite songs in the entire musical history. It is also one of the tracks I have listened to the most and continue to listen to. Even now, after listening to it on KZhead, I felt an indescribable emotion. I agree, it's amazing!
Have you heard "Salisbury" of Uriah Heep?
This song guarantees a direct transport to another dimension ✨
Echoes - a modern day symphony.
Overhead the albatross Hangs motionless upon the air And deep beneath the rolling waves In labyrinths of coral caves The echo of a distant time Comes willowing across the sand And everything is green and submarine And no one showed us to the land And no one knows the where's or why's But something stirs and something tries And starts to climb toward the light Strangers passing in the street By chance, two separate glances meet And I am you and what I see is me And do I take you by the hand And lead you through the land And help me understand the best I can? And no one calls us to move on And no one forces down our eyes No one speaks and no one tries No one flies around the sun Cloudless everyday You fall upon my waking eyes Inviting and inciting me to rise And through the window in the wall Come streaming in on sunlight wings A million bright ambassadors of morning And no one sings me lullabies And no one makes me close my eyes So I throw the windows wide And call to you across the sky
Ain't this pure, evocative, visionary poetry?
Thank you.

We the new generation are Keeping real music alive here🔥✨

Look I love pink Floyd with all my heart. I can play all of The Wall, Animals, Meddle, and Pipers on Guitar and Bass. But what was that "real music" comment supposed to be. If you can't find SOMETHING in every genre that you enjoy that I think you fundamental misunderstand Art.
Can we all agree this is the best musical composition ever?

The start of their iconic period. One of my favorite progressive rock pieces ever!! It shows off everyone so well and is the perfect piece to introduce the dynamics of Floyd in terms of how each person makes the juggernaut that was 70’s Floyd.

I saw Meddle performed live at the Austin Memorial Auditorium in 1972 (Quadrophonic concert) while tripping on a 4-way hit of Orange Sunshine. The concert was unbelievable. Flawless performances with an incredible light show.
This is probably the most borderline romantic album the band has ever produced.
The greatest song Pink Floyd ever put on record.

Holy crap can’t wait for this new song
They have always been my favorite group all my life and ime 68 now
I have always seen this song as being about going through something difficult and then emerging as a better version of yourself. The song establishes a melody and it then goes into the dark, chaotic phase. Then the melody emerges stronger than it was before that interlude.
Early Floyd was a smorgasbord of hit-or-miss experimentation, but on Meddle, it all begins to cohere and coalesce before the big storm as Floyd rocketed up the charts and into the dark, Floyd night.

So many amazing live recordings exist of 'Echoes' - with the great 'Live at Pompeii' version being among the best - the actual performance date for that was early Oct. 1971 - less than one month before 'Meddle' was released ..
One of my favourites. I miss you Dad.
The soundtrack to my lost drunken and stoned early 20s in the 1990s. When I was 23 I used to sail from Cape May, NJ out onto the Delaware Bay at night to this track. I’d begin it just as I’d exit the canal by the Lewes Ferry station. Just me, my boat, the waves, this song, and the stars. It was a feeling earthly detachment and connection to eternity that’s hard to describe.
