Making the Japanese woodworking joinery, "Ken Dome Nimai Hozo Setsugou" (Twin mortise and tenon joint with sword tip miter). Both sides have a sword tip joint and are hard to finish without gaps.
We use Japanese woodworking tools such as jig and chisel to create precise miter. It also explains Japanese joinery techniques for making strong mortises and tenon joints.
This is one of the wooden joints for "First-class Furniture Making Master Craftsman," a national qualification in Japan.

How can they get the joints so perfect my goodness
Excellent, would love to see a more in-depth video on this 🙏
Please watch the full version for details! kzhead.info/sun/n8iNl9SAhIaQdHA/bejne.html
So much surface area created by one joint. Awesome! Beautiful joint. I was thinking, is there a point at which an increased amount of mortises and tenons decreases the overall strength of the joint? I'm asking legitimately cause I don't have the experience to know. Anyone?
Not necessarily. As long as the components of the joint maintain the original overall density and volume, strength is not lost.
Yes, because the wood fibers are never perfectly aligned to the board geometry. Look at Matthias Wandel's experiments in testing joints.
Yes, that certainly can be the case. It should be a balance of strength of the joint considered with dimensions that don't cause weakness. How much stress will be applied at a joint is important for considering dimensions.
Браво мастеру!!! Браво!! Идеальная подгонка-Респектище!!!
Skills that pay the bills. Amazing joinery. ❤

Simple as open holes in chisel?
What are the name of the both wood?
😫😫😫😫 so satisfying
Probably takes him longer to sharpen his chisels than to make the joinery.
Nah, if the tools have a good working sharpness, it takes only a few strokes on the wet stone to get them super razor sharp. You need some skills for that though.
do not play jenga or tetris against someone with these skills
👌👍👏
😁👍🔥
It’s a good thing you hatched the areas to remove…. It can get confusing…. Lol
Where can I get the mortising chisels he is using? I cannot find one anywhere…
I got mine used in Yokohama for around $10.
Por que?
How sway
Please... Would you build my home...? 😎✌👍❤🖖
