  • “It is a point to remember that of all the ironies about Diana, perhaps the greatest was this - a girl given the name of the ancient goddess of hunting was, in the end, the most hunted person of the modern age.” - Earl Spencer

    • Perhaps his grief is a realization of what Diana's untimely death could potentially mean to his & Camilla's future reputations. I don't give this self indulging Prince any benefit of the doubt he's only concerned about himself & how his life will be mard by his past discretions with Camilla

    • You have never obviously been so grief stricken, that no matter how much you try, you cannot stop tears of grief. Nowadays you can take some sort of medication to get you through the ceremony of the funeral. Which I have done several times. There are many times later that you can weep, privately. Which I think most of us do., Even years later. There is no time restraint on grief. We all handle emotions Differently.

    • I know the pain Prince William and Harry felt when Princess Diana died. I lost my parents when I was a little kid, and I was bawling my eyes out at their funeral. I wanted them to wake up but they couldn’t and I have to live with the fact that they will never see me get married or have kids. I’ll bet Princess Diana and my parents are having tea together in heaven right now.

  • My husband, half British and birthed in England, burst into tears randomly for a week following her death. I was only 22 at the time and didn't necessarily understand, but as it turned out, she represented a lot of things to him. He was 32 then and had lived through more of the AIDS crisis than I. Her outreach toward those dying and sick made a huge impression on him. I miss him dearly and he would be missing to this day. ❤

  • I'm so glad Diana had the love of her sons, friends, siblings and the public. The love of her sons, friends, and the public seemed the most pure, true, and consistent. Besides a few I don't think many members of the RF grieved for her, they clearly never and still do not understand her and what made her the Queen of Hearts. She was above all of them.

They might have been quite jealous of her ..spécially the poor wife prince Charles married alter! They seemed much less affected than the crowd, her children or the real friends. This princess was exceptional like in a faire tale.. once in a century we can see one.. kindness generousity Beauty..intelligence ..she had everything and was so much loved by the world! Millions of people cannot get mixed up in their same opinion. ! Let’s hope her sons will behave with great true humanity like her.

After those 6 hours my eyes were so swollen that I looked like someone who had an allergic reaction to a spider bite. I don't really know why Diana's death hit me so hard. Maybe because my name is Diane, and I had endured a loveless marriage for 15 years, it seemed like I understood her sadness. Her death was a real shock to me back then.

It's almost like she's thinking, " My God, they did actually cause her death." Diana told us she'd be killed exactly how she was. This isn't the first "accident" to befall a person of interest full of secrets and information, it certainly won't be the last. I remember ALL the wonderful acts of compassion and kindness she bestowed on the world. I know that's how she'd want to be honored. She was a radiant light, extinguished to soon. ❤

People who never new Diana was squealing like banshees. Should have been a private funeral followed by a memorial service later when the boys had a chance to grieve in private for a while.

Even to this day, 25 years later, I get teary at the mere mention and memories of her. For me, her death is on a par with that of Jack Kennedy. It rocked our nation to the core because it was the death of a dream (and I believe, the opening salvo of the fascist take-over in America.) So, too, with beautiful Diana. I had a 6 year old son, we just had moved to a new city, so I felt I really couldn't afford to show grief openly. My thoughts seemed to center around my husband and how tragic it was Diana had been killed. I thought about how her boys were now motherless. I couldn't cry and ended up getting a case of double pneumonia that hung on and almost killed me. Probably from grief! I am happy that William met Kate. • Every time I watch Diana’s funeral, my eyes well up with tears. As a human being all she wanted is to be loved. But Charles was not a man for this beautiful angel. Charles was not groomed to be a loving child of the queen. How could his father give him the permission to have a lover. Unless he himself was having affairs behind the queen? It’s unforgivable act on Charles’ part. He doesn’t even know to keep the wow of marriage in front of the whole world. I can never look at Camilla as a person of dignity and integrity. Charles would have been a great husband if it wasn’t for Camilla. He simply didn’t have empathy and a compassionate heart for Diana. All Diana wanted was his love, love, love. There will never be another Diana in the whole wide world.

    • Diana was beautiful in every sense of the word but it was not Charles' fault what happened to her. He was forced to marry a woman he did not love. He always loved Camilla, people need to stop blaming them. They all were victims of the circumstance. Diana was no angel either, she too was not faithful. I'm not bashing her or anyone but the older I get the sadder this story is for Diana, Charles, and yes Camilla. Imagine watching the man you've always loved marry a beautiful young woman.

She was our princess, our living fairy tale come true and we all mourned for her and were heartbroken for her poor boys who had just lost their beloved mother and then having to see them forced to walk behind the hearse with a stiff upper lip was simply horrifying. • I remember hearing about Diana's passing when a friend rang me in tears, I could hardly understand her, at first I thought her husband had died. I couldn't understand the outpouring of grief in her voice. Then, I switched on the TV and every station for days covered Diana's death and the UK and the worlds grief. I was sad Diana passed in such a way, she didn't deserve that, the boys didn't deserve lossing their mother that way, then have the world watching their grief. But, do you know what hit me the most? It was the way the British people attacked Charles and the Queen. Cries of the Queen should be here with us, where is the Royal Family, they don't care, all the while a father and a set of grandparents where thinking of the two most important people in that situation, William and Harry. When the Royal Family did return to London those boys walked out with their father to the crowd, not because they wanted to, but because the crowd wanted, expected them to be there for THEM the public. Can you imagine grabbing, pulling and wiping snotty hands over you, all the while one of the most important people in your life has been taken from you? As sad as I was and still am at Diana's passing, my tears were for those boys. My respect for the Queen and Charles increased (and please don't hound me about what he did or didn't to Diana I've heard it all), but my respect for the British people dropped. Now, over a quarter of a century later, my respect for our late Queen and Prince Philip still remains. My respect for King Charles remains, my respect and for William has grown as he has shown that he will one day be a great king, with a wonderful queen by his side and his three adorable children. I also have a great respect for Queen Camilla, she has stood by the king and the Royal Family all these years and never once said a bad word about anyone (and don't give me a hard time about Camilla either because I don't care). The big thing that has changed for me is what I think/once thought of Harry. When he was little he was the cheeky little red head prince. When he was a teenager, he needed a good kick up the butt more then once. When he was in the army and came home he had matured into the caring man very much like his mother and brother, with charities that matter, that make a difference. Now, he is just an over grown child who tattle-tails if he doesn't get his way. He thinks nor cares of no one but himself. Any respect I had for Harry has long left me. (And don't tell me it is all his wife's fault, because that is just a get out of jail free card for him. I don't like Meghan, never have, even before she married into the Royal Family, but Harry owns this.) Okay end of my rant. Sorry went of course there a bit, but once I got started it just kept coming.
