I wish Aljo would've kept it on the feet more. He looked solid with his striking vs a vet striker who is top 10. But impressive and dominant performance regardless. Looking forward to his next outing when he isn't excessively nervous.
Agree, imo he was cautious of striking after his last loss considering the move up, facing bigger dude, who´s also a striker. Just sticking to game plan.

He did what he had to do to win, but he isn't going to get a lot of new fans with that approach. Played it way too safe and was complacent of just making it to a decision.
He lost against O’Malley for not playing it safe so it makes sense his literal next fight he played it safe. This is the more boring fights in his career, he never usually fights like this, so you can expect more entertaining ones later

His style doesn’t need punching power to KO, just needs enough to put you in alert which he definitely did to Kattar. Didn’t stun him or rock him but definitely made him not want to eat any more hits

Neither did Bo Nickle and Kayla Harrison… Aljo is an Ex Champion who beat Cody Sandhagan, Petr Yan, and Henry a double champ! He has the best name in his division that he has beat. Up until the mistake against Sean in the second round he arguably won the first round. There is a reason why Sean didn’t want him to get a rematch.

Before the Cory fight I said to him I think he needs to move up, replied he thinks so too but work at bantamweight still needs done. He was cutting a lot, hard to watch that process. 😳
Aljo is excellent fighter and he performed amicably and walked away unscathed and in good health. True MMA artist. Hate on him all you want.

Were you watching the fight? They didn’t stand it up because Kattar was stalling and Aljo was working to improve position. If Aljo was stalling, they’d stand it up. But he was advancing and constantly working, Kattar was trying to stall him out since he wasn’t able to get up
