In the third round charles was only making faces to win the judges as sub was not felt effective and i think he was mentally broke by than similar to paddy/marlin/mally...taking a chance!
I've been an Olives fan for years now and had my heart in my throat for the whole fight. The guillotine in the first was tight but the arm bar and darce weren't going to finish him. I think it was a fantastic and close fight and the decision was fair. Arman is young and gritty and I'm interested in seeing his future in the division.

Yes and in the third Arman did zero damage. Round 1 Oliviera - submission and about equal control time Round 2 Arman - with dominant control time and used it to damage Charles with his shoulders and elbows, very clean and nice. Round 3 Oliveria - while Arman had good control time and a takedown, like you said scoring is based on the basis of damage and Arman had no damage, he had Charles’ back but didn’t use his elbow or shoulder like he did in round 2, Charles’s guilotine did more damage than Arman in round 3 and should have therefore won. This is going based on your logic of damage and not control time, which was Armans most dominant statistic in the whole fight and without it, he doesn’t win.
@@pubg-blsy3352wrong, Charles “guillotine” in round 3 that everyone keeps overhyping was just control time, he was squeezing his arms away at NOTHING. The round ended and arman shot right up unphased because he obviously wasn’t even being choked that entire time. They keep saying ohhh give Charles 30 more seconds he wins! No he would’ve burned his arms out squeezing arman while arman was just fine then got beat up / controlled some more. Easiest 2-1 that judge is actually an idiot

Oliveira simply doesn't know how to avoid a punch. Its a fact and not an insult. Certain fighters think they can absorb punches and tough it out. Wrong. Those punches take a toll over time. You will slow down mentally & physically. Take care of that noggin' folks it isn't a joke.

I do not get it. Even on the feet, Arman failed a takedown then got a takedown (1-1) and then only had control time while Oliveira locked in a tight, deep sub attempt. How did that not win him the round?
It was not tight deep submission attempt, Charles was stalling to end the round. Other than that how does failing submission attempt gives the round to Charles? Charles tried to submit Arman but failed and Arman succeeded in escaping submission attempt, if anything Arman was the one who succeeded in his plans. What did Charles do except failing submission attempts? If a guy attempts a takedown and fails, who should get a point? The one who failed or the one who defended? It is similar to a submission attempt, Charles didn't do anything other then FAILED submission attempts. It was more impressive seeing Arman escaping that submission attempt.
I see a lot of strength, determination and confidence in this guy. I think he can beat Islam

charles never went distance with many fighters he won, he is known for his 2/3 rounds finish game. arman would obviously had been less experienced but i dont think charles would had finished arman in the 4th and the 5th.....a 5 rounder would had been the same SPLIT DECISION IMO
Charles doesn't have the cardio to fight his style for longer. He already slowed down a bunch in round 3.

Not a Robbery but obviously Charles was the closest to finishing the fight on multiple occasions. But due to judges putting emphasis on control w no damage. I was hoping if arman won he would do better because rn I can’t see him beating islam
He was closest in round 1 but Arman got out of that. The choke in round 3 didn’t seem deep.
Armen landed more significant strikes in both rounds two and rounds three Charles literally only landed five significant strikes compared to Arman 18 significant strikes around three . Arman also had a takedown against Charles round three. Forget Charles also illegally kicked Arman.

Since his debut, arman wrestling level is same. He has only improved, little bit in striking, no improvement in grappling,while makhachev is completely different fighter, he has improved humungously. Even in first fight arman was more muscular and bigger but now makhachev has improved more in that area also

If you actually look at modern scoring criteria. The 3rd round which was the difference maker was a complete 50/50 either way it could have gone it’s not a robbery. And I lost potential 1,700$ off a parlay where the only miss was Charles. But no this was not a robbery arman did enough to secure the decison
