Nothing wrong with challenging yourself by fighting by a different code, which is boxing in Jorges case. It’s admirable, and yet to be done by a pro boxer of our generation. Jorge will go in the underdog, and probably lose, but I doubt he’d fall victim to a one punch KO. What Connor did with Mayweather was super entertaining, even though Connor was outclassed. If Masvidal follows the same route, he’ll be set for life as far as money goes.

A lifelong fight fan here and I’ve trained mma and boxing for 8+ years and have sparred many rounds with amateur and pro mmartists, boxers and kickboxers (just trynna clarify I’m not a complete couch quarterback lol) and I can tell you the reflexes, anticipation and having at least a decent level of understanding of high level striking all just to develop the ability to slip and roll with punches is a art form of itself that takes years and hundreds of rounds of sparring to develop the confidence and ability to pull it off In an actual fight is a art form that I feel is highly under appreciated.

Mma is controlled with a ring a referee and certain rules you can't do like eyepoke and kick in the nuts so it isnt close to 'true fighting' more than boxing is.

Nothing wrong with challenging yourself by fighting by a different code, which is boxing in Jorges case. It’s admirable, and yet to be done by a pro boxer of our generation. Jorge will go in the underdog, and probably lose, but I doubt he’d fall victim to a one punch KO. What Connor did with Mayweather was super entertaining, even though Connor was outclassed. If Masvidal follows the same route, he’ll be set for life as far as money goes.

A lifelong fight fan here and I’ve trained mma and boxing for 8+ years and have sparred many rounds with amateur and pro mmartists, boxers and kickboxers (just trynna clarify I’m not a complete couch quarterback lol) and I can tell you the reflexes, anticipation and having at least a decent level of understanding of high level striking all just to develop the ability to slip and roll with punches is a art form of itself that takes years and hundreds of rounds of sparring to develop the confidence and ability to pull it off In an actual fight is a art form that I feel is highly under appreciated.
