As promised, I put the Lenovo Legion Pro 5i head-to-head with the Pro 7i and of course, was not disappointed! Both of these laptops are individually incredible in their own ways, specifically in their performance!

In every other review on the pro 7i, people say its keyboard deck is plastic. Is it really aluminum??
i have recently bought the Pro 7i, everything's fine but i found that it has a very big problem that is caused by the Nvidia drivers which is the DPC latency. Im experiencing some annoying lag and cranckling noise when i play any audio on my computer. If you guys have any fix to this that would really help.

Would you think that a hard shell case for the 5i would fit the 7i? They appear identical in size and shape. I ask because I can’t find a shell for my 7i yet they sell them for the 5i 😢 The material won’t matter, just the size and shape - again, they look identical… I appreciate it.
This pro 2023 line really has beautiful design. I wish the body would be modular where u pick what CPU you like. I would have picked the metal pro body with 7840U or 7840HS and high resolution colour accurate screen. With that cooling, this system would be that quiet.
I ordered the Slim 7i with the i7-3700H 4060 AND the Slim 5 which both come in this week. The Slim 7i was $200 more. Currently deciding which laptop I should keep out of the two. Will the Slim 7i be a faster laptop for gaming than the 5? Any recommendations Ben?

if it's the same specs the slim 5 will slightly out perform because the slim 7 is actually slim so the slim 5 as more room to cool since it's not as slim

I've purchased Pro 5i few days ago, and its shipping with a 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13700HX, 2100 Mhz, 16 Core(s), 24 Logical Processor(s) in India. Display refresh rate is 240 Hz . I loved the piece. Its nice for the price.

a maxxed out pro 5i is about 2000$ canadian off lenovo's website where as the pro 7i shows it starts at 3300CAD.. big jump, the 7i seems to only be available with the 4090 where as the 5i only goes to the 4070.. so i cant get an apples to apples comparison i assumed they would overlap at the 4070 both offering it

agreed, pro 7i really comes to its own once you get at least a 4080, faster gpu and more vram really benefit creatives, allowing multiple projects or even one gigantic project to run on a pro 7i

i have the Pro 5i with the i9 13900hx and Rtx 4070 I upgraded the ram with 32 gig Gskill 5600mhz ram and 2 990 pro 2tb and it runs great. Only downside is GPU won't go over 110 watts..

The plastic construction isn’t bad at all…. I just got that same pro 5i and looking at this the performance of the pro 7i isn’t worth the $900 difference imo.
unless you get 4080, which is almost double the performance and have more vrams than that 4070 in your pro 5i(seriously ngreedia?? why such a large gap???)
Next time 4070Ti should have 10GB vram and much better 4K capabilities.
@allstargaming2500 it would be better off ported from desktop 4070 directly, with similar Cuda core counts and 12gb vram, at the same time releasing updates for 4080 and 4090 laptops to run up to 200w

pro 7i has plastic keyboard deck, if you gonna get the 7i, 4080 is must go to, it is not reasonable to buy only the 4070 version as its very lacking in performance vs 4080
I have the 4070 version, but with 32GB RAM, it's amazing as it is. I would only advise someone to upgrade to 4080, if they are a serious gamer and are willing to pay an extra $300. Otherwise, go legion!
