  • So sad to see our Queen sat alone. Forget that she’s a monarch for a moment and remember she’s a 95 year old woman, old enough to be our Nan. Bidding the love of her life goodbye. Anyone who has ever lost someone should know how alone you feel. Even with the world mourning with you and for you. Grief is a solitary journey. Bless you Queen Elizabeth, and bless Prince Philip.

    • If there is anything good to come from this horrible pandemic, it is the fact that even the most grand funeral was reduced to its essence, the love of his wife and children. I think this funeral was 1000 times better than some flashy parade through the streets of London. I would not be surprised if this becomes the model for future royal funerals. It wasn't tacky, it wasn't sentimental, and it wasn't a pantomime for the masses. It was one great family saying goodbye to their patriarch.

In a way, the quarantine must have been such a blessing for the Queen and Prince Philip, bc she couldn’t go anywhere and they were together all the time. I imagine that was an incredible blessing to both of them, and I hope those memories will sustain the Queen....she is on a very lonely road now. God’s blessings to her!

  • It was a poignant moving funeral, very dignified yet personal knowing that he had a hand in the details, including the music, which I really appreciated. The most special part to me was his carriage with the two horses, with his gloves and even sugar treats for his ponies. There is little consolation in grief, but a beautiful service on a glorious day will be something that at least they can look upon and feel secure that even with the restrictions of the pandemic, he was honored.

  • May he Rest In Peace. My sincere condolences to her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles and all members of the Royal family. Such a terrible blow, and I honestly worry for her Majesty. I pray her heavy burden of pain and grief was lessened by the knowledge that so many around the world grieve with her. I can’t imagine what she must be going through - to be married for so many years and find herself suddenly without him; may she continue to be blessed with good health. May God bless and keep her, and ease her heavy heart. I was very fortunate to have had the opportunity to greet the Queen and Prince Phillip during a walkabout during their last visit to Canada, while they were in Edmonton. The Duke was actually quite kind and very witty, and seemed very genuine. Her Majesty moved on quite quickly of course, but he stayed a few moments longer and chatted a little with us about what area of Alberta we are from, etc. Afterwards both my husband and I spoke about how you could see the great love and respect they had for one another. My heart breaks for her Majesty - she is the last of her generation now and IMHO, the very best of them...long may she continue to reign.

  • That send off procession was beautiful. Thank God they were able to have some pagentry for the Prince despite the Covid. It is a glitter of hope for all those who lost loved ones but were unabe to give them a proper funeral. May his soul rest in peace. I particularly loved the bagpipe, trumpeth, wailing horns and the glorious singing of the few that seemed like a large choir. It's as if he was sounding the alarm for his arrival in heaven. A grand send off indeed. May God save the Queen of England.
