The Rugby World Cup is underway, so Tins managed to get us a meeting with the Patrons of the WRU, RFU & SRU at Windsor Castle.
Hask & Alex can't believe their luck at being invited along to have tea with Tins' mother-in-law + The Prince & Princess of Wales.

    • I do wish people would realize that praising and complimenting members of the Royal Family while having a dig at Harry and Meghan is actually an insult to the BRF. It’s saying they’re only good in comparison. I know you, and so many of the commenters here who did that, don’t mean it that way, but it is the effect. H&M are no longer Royals and have effectively divorced themselves from the family - therefore are no longer members of the family by their own design. Supporting the British Royal Family is about the Royals & their actual, active extended family, not how they are in contrast to their two worst members. Especially when they have nothing to do with each other. Families who have ex-family members like H&M don’t continuously compare themselves to them. Frankly, they don’t even continue to think about them. We shouldn’t either. The comparisons are for H&M to suffer, not the Royals.

I grew up assuming that eating meals as a family and associated discussion was the norm, only to find out as I got into my teens that eating meals as a family wasn’t the norm among families of friends and schoolmates. After most dinners, conversation lasted ling after everyone finished eating. When I went to college, discussions among family was what I missed most. When I became a parent, my spouse & I continued this practice of family meals with the new family we established. I have found that family meals are even more not the norm today than when I was young. Interacting in a family is the first manner in which humans begin learning and integrating socializing skills. To the extent there is less interaction in a family environment, socialization becomes more challenging. The fact that so much interaction among people occurs by typing into a device and not speaking directly to other humans, the fact that socialization skills are lacking by many.
