The Wall Between North And South Korea: A Border Story | Real Stories Full-Length Documentary

2021 ж. 1 Мам.
1 960 050 Рет қаралды

The Korean Demilitarized Zone DMZ is a strip of land running across the Korean Peninsula. It is established by the provisions of the Korean Armistice Agreement to serve as a buffer zone between North Korea and South Korea.
Shot in stunning 4K and narrated by the 2018 Emmy® Award-winning actor Matthew Rhys, this compelling series explores six of the world’s most iconic walls and borders. It features the wall between the US and Mexico, the Korean DMZ, the Israel-Palestine Separation Barrier, the walled communities in Northern Ireland, Cyprus’ Green Line, and the now-demolished Berlin Wall.
From the crumbling ruins of ancient walls to brick barriers that are currently under construction, each episode uncovers the human stories behind these walls and asks why they were built, how they affect people’s lives, and what happens when the walls come down. This is a series about hope and unity in the face of division and about the triumph of the human spirit in spite of separation.

I imagine it isn't easy to go through such things and come out of it as a normal person, but it is possible and I pray for all the North Korean people to one day experience happiness and fulfillment. God is the answer. Even after all she had endured she was able to experience happiness through something we don't even think twice about in most every other country, a smile or laughter. May The Lord help the Korean people. I don't think there is any place on earth worse than North Korea and it breaks my heart to know that no real help is getting to them. • Don't call them defectors. They're freedom fighters. Liberators. Incredibly brave. Defector makes it sound like they've done something wrong. The meaning of defector is someone who's abandoned their country. They didnt abandon, they escaped for a damn good reason.

  • So sad, I wish they could have Peace!🙏🏽 The two of them smiling at the end just seemed very genuine. Obviously I don’t know for sure, but I’m just saying it looks so nice the 2 looking each other in the eye with respect and smiling and inviting each other over to one side, then to the other side, it seems so genuine, it’s a damn shame!😞

    • I rlly dont understand why yall always have to bring kpop and kdrama when it comes to the conflict between nk and sk. Yall be "korea isnt only abt kpop and kdrama" but then would bring up kpop and kdrama when its abt the political state of separated countries. Its just unnecessary. like why r yall so desperate to make korean entertainment so political? I dont see yall saying this to any other type of foreign media. Coz like u dont see weirdos like u telling anime fans "go and see what japan did when they were colonizers" 💀

    • That’s South Korea’s entertainment industry which is booming and only in the last 10 or so years has it really been recognised in the west, it has nothing to do with the conflict between north and south.. it’s like saying all you who love Samsung phones have to see this… Sorry but I just don’t get your point
