The Wrangler is a timeless classic & the Defender a modern masterpiece
Defender's road presence is on another level and thanks to Thar, image of wrangler has a bit diminished
Ofcourse, fca is fooling people around offering such a low quality car at a price that high, its overpriced in the USA itself, and over-overpriced in India. If the price was equivalent to fortuner, wouldve been much better. Its like a fiat 500 or beetle, a second car for people who dont care about their money, and will only run those cars on weekends/emergency.
The Defender surely deserves better tyres... I hope we get a video with better tires equipped on the Defender!
Still nothing would happen. It can't compete with articulation of Jeep
Because of the huge brakes and rim size of the defender you can't even put a proper high profile off-road tyres in that, it is almost impossible to modify or have a lift in it
The rich interiors of the defender are made from High-end "Quarter" microfiber clothing(at least you find the same in Velar) credits all to Gerry Mcgovern design director at land rover.
The Defenders break over angle departure angle and GC are just 🔥🔥🔥
Defender would be my pick any day. Because its a great package all packed together off the road and on the road. And the looks are mind bogglingly phenomenal.
Defender has one of the best headlight design in the market. In the movie , No time to die, defender looked so badass!

Nice to finally see a test in gnarly wet muddy terrain for a change rather than bone dry rocky tracks. A more fair comparison would be made if they were both on the same type of tyres as well

Both are high taxed and charged heavy import duties in India .The exshowroom price itself is more than double when compared to other international markets.For example Defender cost between $55000 to $85000 (40 Lakhs to 60 Lakhs ) in the US but in India the exshowroom price starts from 80 Lakhs to 1.3 Crore .
DO A LOOT MORE VIDEOS LIKE THESE..AMAZING..THOSE TRACKS EVEN GAVE ME SOME CHILLS JUST WATCHING THEM..

Defender float on uneven ground but Rubicon and wrangler levels suspension with stay bar disconnect option

Off-roading with defender is scary at times mostly due to lack of articulation, after trying both off-road, I went with rubicon and happy with it, off-roading is much much more fun and confidence expiring. Also Land Rover dealers have no idea when next batch of defenders are coming, but rubicon waiting period is just 1 month, made in India
Definitely defender because I love the way it looks like build to off-road and give some good tyres means defender defends any vehicle with his compitator

Huh... tyres ,do you even know off-road, I am a big fan of defender too, but it is no way near as good as a wrangler in off-road, It's unibody is shit, and independent suspension gives it less articulation than a skate board, defender is a weakend runner soft roader,it is not a serious off roader, and it is crazy unreliable But if I have to choice I will definitely choose defender, too,but not for offroading
Wrangler, hands down!! It just serves the purpose it's built for. Who would count highway comforts and plush interiors in an off-roader vehicle..? An off-roader is essentially made to get you out of uncomfortable places to a comfortable place.
In western markets there is no comparison between the two. Defender is a different segment, different type of vehicle. The regular Wrangler is still basically white man's Bolero. G-Class is an overpriced rich person's toy in every market in the world. No sane person does actual offroading with a Land Rover. The electronics die easily and cost heaps of money to fix, but on a highway Land Rover is top class luxury. The Wrangler platform itself is very interesting though, for example Wrangler Hellcat is a 700 HP muscle car wearing the dress of a jeep. I hope they bring all the special editions to India as well.

Very interesting seeing Wrangler reviews from different countries. I have a 2020 Rubicon with 37” tires and LOTS of add ons…. Makes off-roading boring at times…
Also people keep in mind the Wrangler Rubicon is wayy less expensive than the Defender. Not to mention even with lower ground clearance it has Rock rails so even if the underbody hits something as in this video, it's not an issue at all.

It's always the father Thar, the Wrangler!! That can smoothened any hilly terrain just like a normal tarmac!! Wow! What a car this is! Defender may look good and more practical, but not at all a true off-roader!!

The comparison was awesome and informative.Although in some parts we could see a man giving directions to the driver which I felt was not so good because if you’re alone in the car driving offroad no one will help you to give directions! Because of this the technology of the car to view the exterior while driving is not being tested
I would have gone for jeep Wrangler.. I love off-roading ... Defender should have given mud tyres as Wrangler.. Price consideration is more sensable in choosing my pic... ALWAYS I love autocar reviews since I started back 6+ yrs...
