I had a 530e saloon as a courtesy car whilst my 5 series touring was having some warranty work done. The MPG was pathetic (32 mpg at best] and the saloon barely had a boot. Was glad to get shut of it as hated it.
I’ve just bought the 530e saloon and to date have done around 800 miles in total, my mpg is over 90 so quite happy with that.
Thanks for the video. Really useful as I was thinking of replacing my 2013 330d touring with this. Trouble is it’s not much, if any, more space and I get mid 30’s around town and 50mpg on a family journey. Does it regen on braking on a longer journey to then use when crawling or through towns?
Yes you can use the battery control mode which will recharge the batteries using the ICE it’s charges up really fast too

Great video. Unfortunately I couldn't really understand everything you said because of your accent. But so far I agree with everything (having driven a 530e Touring for 3 weeks as a rental).
