Good news everyone: my mom is moving to Denver! When she decided to leave Arizona, I told her that she should sell most of her furniture so I could build her new stuff here in Colorado. Well, now it's time to make good on that promise and it all starts with a new bed. Mom really digs the Mid-Century Modern style so you'll see that influence in this piece. It's a King size design and we have full plans and a series of nine videos available in the Guild if you're interested. thewoodwhispererguild.com/pro...
The Guild package also includes a separate PDF showing the measurements you'd need to make a Queen size version.
If you're looking for the big giant dovetail bit, you can pick one of those up at MLCS (#7695): www.mlcswoodworking.com/shops...

    @mypony891@mypony8913 жыл бұрын
    • Depends on the board. If it behaves, then it comes out pretty straight. If the wood is unstable, than it might go haywire.

      @woodwhisperer@woodwhisperer3 жыл бұрын
    • I've had boards that went haywire. But I also wondered if it was partly because my bandsaw blade wasn't sharp enough anymore. I thought maybe if there was excess heat on the one side, it might have done something. But that was just a theory. It was probably just the board.

I want to try make one like your previous build but I like this one more and am trying to figure out pricing. Also you’re using the kapex again?

    @himaunshuagte7992@himaunshuagte79923 жыл бұрын
    • Thicker boards are usually more expensive. I don't know the exact price of the walnut since I get it over a long period of time, but here's the amount of material you'd need: 17 BF of 4/4 Hardwood, 10 BF of 5/4 Hardwood, 32 BF of 8/4 Hardwood, and one sheet of 3/4″ plywood.
