  • He's not scared to fight Colby,but HE IS scared to lose to Colby..He knows realistically that Colby could actually beat him..But I don't think he would be able to stomach actually losing to someone that has talked about his family and friends the way that Colby has..So I think he prefers to just avoid the whole situation..

Colby definitely has better Cardio/pressure for 5 rounds but he is not as technical or has shown to make multiple adjustments mid-fight. Dustin is the type of guy to read YOUR read then fake you out with a pull counter. Colby will have a disadvantage on the feet. Colby whiffs way too much and he has pillow hands because he purposely pulls his punches to retain cardio. If he can't win by a decision by grappling, then he will actually most likely lose the fight everywhere else. There is no submission threat from Colby, especially when Dustin has BJJ. You'll find out that Dustin is actually more proficient on the ground and transitioning. Colby is good at takedowns, he can take you down, but then he doesn't know what to do. Dustin will get up lol. • Dustin is a horrible matchup for chandler, and chandler knows this, and I say this as someone who is a huge fan of chandler. But chandler pretending this is some personal issue, ignoring that gaethje literally said the same thing Poirier said but way more disrespectfully, or pretending like Dustin just isn’t a draw is ridiculous lol. It’s neither. Chandler wants either a title shot, or a fight with guys like Conor or Nate who are past their prime but will still get him paid a butt ton more and still justify a title fight if he wins. Chandler got caught by Charles, then got caught by gaethje in a somewhat different way but similar reason, and then got caught with the exact same shot Charles got him with by Tony. His striking defense is worse then even olivera. He is all risk all reward, but he is super susceptible of getting hit clean when exiting, especially when he throws that signature range finding right body shot he throws at literally everyone. Dustin is not the guy to have this defensive flaw against by any means and Dustin is also a very durable fighter on top of that which means for a guy like chandler who will rely on getting a knockout early on to have a shot at winning against that with someone durable like Poirier that it’s less likely. And sure, chandler has the power to knock literally anyone out cold if he catches them in the right spot and clean, but Poirier has honestly some of the best, if not the best boxing in all of ufc and also he has a chin.

That’s so outlandish I don’t even know why you’d put that out there Colby probably opens -300 on betonline and gets immediately bet down to -450 or worse. • Respectfully why does he keep bringing up the fact of giving Colby “a platform” or “making money off my name” it’s the UFC’s platform? No?

    @TimeEnthusiast@TimeEnthusiast Жыл бұрын
    • It's technically the UFC's platform, but each individual fighter is also his own platform. Colby will make more money fighting Dustin than anyone else, because A Dustin is amongst the more popular fighters now and B, because they have history so he can probably negotiate better pay for himself.

I think it's mostly through Dustin that I know him(Dustin models his style off of him. Yves is the man who came up with the concept of Thugjitsu, the style Dustin refers to as his own. I found that out reading Wikipedia I think) or from the Thomson KO. Or both. Jorge Masvidal also has big respect for him and refers to him as the one guy he ever feared.
