Dana white “yelling” at DJ is 21:37
Goat
Legend
He even clarified that he wasn't yelling lol.
You deserve to wear a cape, & have it not be weird. 👍
Thanks
Absolutely disgraceful how the UFC treated this man a true legend of the sport and gentleman in life
I can never respect dana white after that.
I'm confused. Dana definitely did NOT treat him like "a true legend of the sport and gentleman in life." Quite the opposite.
He didn't sell ppvs
Weight class was weak as hell an not many people was tuning in to watch him
@GanjaDan yes when it comes to geting paid , you have to put people in seats
He killed that cejudo impression 🤣

It was so real I was listening and had to look at the video to make sure it wasn't Henry lol

@@aremedyfrosty no…
@@aremedyfrosty you definitely watch the wwe
@@aremedyfrosty imma be honest here, most One Championship fights are better than what we see in the UFC when it comes to that division. Of course rules are different and weight cutting/classes are also a bit different but the fights are just insane, have yet to see any snoozers.
I can’t believe they traded this dude for Ben. I’m glad he is still competing showing UFC what a mistake they made
Lol don't blame the UFC because WE didn't buy his PPVs
Arguably the most underrated fighter in the sport.
Undoubtedly
Not even close. Do you know what underrated means? He's just not a superstar. But for everyone who follows the sport he is one of the goats & for some people he is the one and only goat. Thats not underrated thats him being unknown, he didn't make it mainstream.
@@FLSouthBoyz absolutely spot on. My ghee 💪🏾💯
Underappreciated*
It’s not arguable for me.
This is going to sound weird but I feel like DJs impression of Henry directly reflects his incredible attention to detail which is that same skill that makes him such a great martial artist
The homie is definitely detail focused 😂😂
3:14 wow thats a solid Triple C impression by DJ
Shows you how good he is at reading people
yeah spot on actually
Still the greatest mixed martial artist the world has ever known! Demetrius Johnson is pure class!
Also him and GSP have never been caught assaulting women, driving drunk a dozen times, or testing positive for PEDs, and seem so kind and humble, gotta love their legacies.
@Urbanchuk I get where you're coming from, and clearly Jones is the best we know of, but I don't think it's even fair to compare him with others, considering how many times he's been caught taking steroids. Caught twice, with strong ass steroids. That means he did them at least 2 times, I would bet 4+ cycles, if not many many cycles, seems like a reasonable estimate. (It's possible, too, that his long layoff is because USADA has issued a publicly undisclosed suspension, I've heard they do that now.) Now imagine having GSP or DJ do 3 solid cycles of steroids, in their early 20s. Is Jones still better then? They would be 100-0 lmao. Or even imagine giving Daniel Cormier 3 years to take any steroids he wants before their previous fight. I *doubt* the fight would play out like it did, with the steroid-fueled head kick KO. Unfair to compare Jones's consistent steroid-using legacy to any clean fighter.
@Urbanchuk jones has an impeccable record against much bigger names, but dj is one of the few people who mastered everything. he can fluidly fight in and out of switch stance. jones cant do that. also i would argue cejudo didnt beat dj. some would argue the lighter guys are more talented in general, thus harder competition, because any athletes at 205 would go into other pro sports. both are great but id lead towards dj being a better martial artist. tho jones is obviously a specimen as well.
By far when you think about it
@Urbanchuk jones is also an abuser of anabolic steroids. cheaters are automatically disqualified from the billy GOAT discussion
Many fighters want to act "humble" and become a role model. This guy does it without even trying
you doing a bad job >:(
The fact that DJ isnt a bigger star is one of the biggest injustices of the sport, what a lovely person.
It’s your fault
One of the greatest fighters and humans of all time. Such a great interview, once again, great job Ariel, thank you for everything. Miss him so much in the UFC

You woudlnt know how high a person's iq was whether it was fighting or not. No way for someone like you to gauge that. You're just repeating sh.. like every single person in comments. He won most of his fight so let's say he has a good fight i.q. A couple years ago nobody knew fight i.q. was even thing. You're literally saying the same exact thing every person who loves to repeat this, says. No holes in his game, not marketed well enough, highest fight iq ever. 👏
you can at least gauge a fighter’s fight iq, through their decision making in fights. DJ has always been consistent with his split second choices, shows a variety of setups for his offence, a great understanding of ring generalship and defence. with his we can pretty safely deduce he has high FIGHT iq.

You know he was doin construction while in the UFC for many many years
Facts! 😂😂
DJ is still my GOAT and most underrated Champion. How can you not love this man for his personality and his highlights.
You obviously don't know what underrated is lmao. He was ranked #1 p4p for a long time. I swear to god mma fans have the lowest IQs
People love above average, people are cool with average but don’t like below average. And DJ is the below average height for a man so people don’t like him based on his stature. It’s not physically imposing to the casual viewer.
@@the2nd152 you’re absolutely right that’s exactly why I’m not interested in him. He’s definitely the best flyweight of all time tho
For a below average sized man he could kill many average and above average sized men with ease. Untrained that is.

The GOAT! Miss him in the UFC 😢
Great interview
Awesome interview. Amazing chemistry
love this guy. got cut from UFC, doesn't let it affect him. goes over to ONE and wins the flyweight championship. love that he has no ill will or bad blood, he just doesn't care and only looks forward
He didn’t really get cut. They would’ve never cut him. He still had too much value. He was and is in my opinion considered the GOAT of mma and he was number 2 P4P. They made a business trade they thought would really bank them ppv and attraction in Ben Askren who was hyped and DJ was just so skilled and ahead of everyone but lacked the attractiveness to sell. He’s just a blue collar normal dude who likes games and has a family. A great dude. But he didn’t fit what they wanted. But still, they’d never cut him. His skills will keep speaking for themselves and the UFC may see his value again and the people too because the fans didn’t appreciate him like they should’ve the first time around. He was doing amazing things that were talked about for like a weekend because he was at 125 and wasn’t talking trash to his opponents.
That Cejudo impression was actually really good lmao
Great interview!!!
Still dont understand how some blokes who get punched in the head for a living can speak so well, love this dude
I really miss DJ in the UFC. The Jorge hype was cool for a short time. But like all things I would not trade the short term excitement from masvidal than the long term awesomeness that DJ always made me feel in the UFC.

I think Demetrius is honestly one of the most likeable fighters. It's a shame that the UFC didn't know how to properly portray his personality to fans. Glad he's still going strong though.

Great interview, very honest guy.
Dj pound for pound #1 I'm my book!!!
In my opinion Chito was actually getting out boxed by Dom. He was also losing to Edgar before knocking him out. Chito has insane knock out power in his kicks as well as his punches. He's dangerous, but as far as technique, I don't put in the same category as Demetrious, Dom or Frankie. He has somewhat of a low level fighting style with insane power.
He wasn’t losing per se Like from the perspective of rounds and points maybe but he’s still very much engaged when he’s like that he’s using the downtime to study the opponent before planning the right attack, those aren’t random hail Mary’s I don’t think it’s low level at all it takes a lot of will and discipline to know timing and patience in a fight
Chito, was in the fight. He never gave up. He was looking for his chance. Unlike Leon who looked beaten before he got his knock out on Usman.
He's so durable. It's why I never bet against him. He's reminds me of a muy thai fighter with how he waits for his shots
I agree with this statement to the core. You hit it right on the nail. His toughness and ability to bite down on the mouthpiece is almost second to none. It’s a strength over the course of a fight. He’s a savage at heart. But his skills are very basic. He stands out nowhere. A fight between him and someone like Petr Yan would be fun to watch.
best interview
