    • @Urbanchuk I get where you're coming from, and clearly Jones is the best we know of, but I don't think it's even fair to compare him with others, considering how many times he's been caught taking steroids. Caught twice, with strong ass steroids. That means he did them at least 2 times, I would bet 4+ cycles, if not many many cycles, seems like a reasonable estimate. (It's possible, too, that his long layoff is because USADA has issued a publicly undisclosed suspension, I've heard they do that now.) Now imagine having GSP or DJ do 3 solid cycles of steroids, in their early 20s. Is Jones still better then? They would be 100-0 lmao. Or even imagine giving Daniel Cormier 3 years to take any steroids he wants before their previous fight. I *doubt* the fight would play out like it did, with the steroid-fueled head kick KO. Unfair to compare Jones's consistent steroid-using legacy to any clean fighter.

      @aarr8936@aarr8936 Жыл бұрын
    • @Urbanchuk jones has an impeccable record against much bigger names, but dj is one of the few people who mastered everything. he can fluidly fight in and out of switch stance. jones cant do that. also i would argue cejudo didnt beat dj. some would argue the lighter guys are more talented in general, thus harder competition, because any athletes at 205 would go into other pro sports. both are great but id lead towards dj being a better martial artist. tho jones is obviously a specimen as well.

They made a business trade they thought would really bank them ppv and attraction in Ben Askren who was hyped and DJ was just so skilled and ahead of everyone but lacked the attractiveness to sell. He’s just a blue collar normal dude who likes games and has a family. A great dude. But he didn’t fit what they wanted. But still, they’d never cut him. His skills will keep speaking for themselves and the UFC may see his value again and the people too because the fans didn’t appreciate him like they should’ve the first time around. • In my opinion Chito was actually getting out boxed by Dom. He was also losing to Edgar before knocking him out. Chito has insane knock out power in his kicks as well as his punches. He's dangerous, but as far as technique, I don't put in the same category as Demetrious, Dom or Frankie. He has somewhat of a low level fighting style with insane power.

    @WaltPowellEnt@WaltPowellEnt Жыл бұрын
    • He wasn’t losing per se Like from the perspective of rounds and points maybe but he’s still very much engaged when he’s like that he’s using the downtime to study the opponent before planning the right attack, those aren’t random hail Mary’s I don’t think it’s low level at all it takes a lot of will and discipline to know timing and patience in a fight

    • I agree with this statement to the core. You hit it right on the nail. His toughness and ability to bite down on the mouthpiece is almost second to none. It’s a strength over the course of a fight. He’s a savage at heart. But his skills are very basic. He stands out nowhere. A fight between him and someone like Petr Yan would be fun to watch.
