I SWORE it was my neighbors who also had their windows open being lazy and letting their infant constantly cry....... only to find out that it was the cats in my backyard.🤦🏾‍♀️ I didn't realize cat's yowling could sound so much like an actual human infant's crying.😂💀

  • I remember reading about a case in Africa where a girl was being assaulted and a lioness ended up saving her (or at least driving off the men that were hurting the girl) Some experts theorized the girl's cries might have sounded enough like a cub's that it kicked the she-lion's maternal instincts into overdrive.

    • @@Paraxium nah I wouldn't be surprised if that happened. animal instincts are wild, especally motherly instincts. there are cats who will adopt baby squirrels just because they're high on the motherly hormones even though they normally hunt squirrels

Some well-documented ones you can find online: Kamunyak, a lioness in Kenya who has adopted several baby antelopes over time; a tigress who adopted a lion cub, and in return the cub grew up and helped her raise future tiger cubs; a lioness in India who adopted a leopard cub...

    • Cats will adopt puppies, dogs adopt kittens, pigs adopt puppies and kittens. They don’t have to have their own litter even, females will start lactating automatically. Sort of like humans wet nursing.

    • That's what I was going to comment on! The mothering instinct in that deer is so strong she's standing out in clear open, risking her life because she hears a newborn animal in distress. It's amazing how strong the protective and mothering instinct is. I would say she must have had a baby recently that's when it's the strongest in us, isn't it?

    • @Spookyhufflepuff nowhere that regulates deer hunting allows only males to be killed. And most folks who eat venison (which is most folks who hunt- even if they do t eat it thenselves- hunters USUALLY try to process the deer and give it away if nothing else) prefer the does for eating. They're more tender and taste less "gamey" than bucks.

  • That babies cry is similar to that of a baby deer or Fawn crying. The female deer just went full instincts and was coming to help until she realized it was humans. That's one heroic motherly deer 🦌 God bless her. 🙏
