A deer doe abandoned one of her twin fawns, the fawn had injured leg and could not keep up with the mother.
I do not support keeping wild animals as a pets, but this was special situation. The baby deer was healed and released back to her real mother.
Update: The doe and two her fawns is still around, we seen them through the summer and the autumn.

I am thankful for every single person who liked, shared and left a comment. I didn't expect this story to become so popular. I am sure that any of us with a little bit of a conscience about our existence, with love for the nature and animals would do the same.

Selenium. The baby needed selenium. That means the mother does too. Goat kids, sheep lambs, and deer fawns are very similar in nutritional needs. The brace was the right thing to do, as was the bottle feeding. A mineral feeder filled with goat minerals or cattle minerals (goat is better) will bring the mother back and help her to birth healthier babies in the future.

Yes, everyone would feel better if they listened to the great galactic space artist known as Selenium Dionium. The goat minerals are a good idea too.

I also raised a fawn. I found him passed out in 93° heat. I carried him for five minutes before he came to and realized I had him. He was less than a week old, with his mom killed by a car. I called the wildlife people, they told me they had no resources for him and to take him out to the forest and let him die. I told them I couldn't do that. They told me as long as I didn't confine him I could raise him. Which I did. That was almost two years ago. Last September, when rut began he took off. People in the valley had seen him with 10-15 does. That made me very proud. He has only come back once, last Jan. he brought a girlfriend over for a visit. Raising him was one of the greatest times of my life. I miss him... But I raised him to be a deer and I think I did good...
maybe he came back to thank you aww
Hell ya you did! That's so awesome! Most people in the world have no idea what it's like to care for a wild animal. I think that that is just one of the rarest experiences that you could possibly have. I'm happy for you for doing what you did. You knew what was the right thing to do & without hesitation, you did it! Thank you so much for sharing your story with us!!!!😁😁😁😁
Okay, I am crying. Beautiful story. Tfs.
And thank you for being such a great and caring person.💕
nothing in this life and by chance! Congratulations, you saved a life.
Thank You for your neverending Kindness and Love!
Everyone here is so ungrateful. This man save little deer, feed her and cured her leg. He can't keep a big wild animal at home, especially since he has so many animals at home that you could see from the video. He can just leave little deer, but he take her home and save her, and i know, that little deer live a nice life.
This world needs more people like you.

God Bless people that help animals like that, they truly have heart, lots and lots of heart. Thank you sir. The video of this really touched me.
For everyone asking why he didn’t call wildlife rescue or a vet... I don’t know exactly where he is in the world but many places don’t have those readily available.. he obviously owns some type of farm and knows his way around with animals. The deer didn’t seem to have a pain reaction.. most likely this baby had a weak leg upon birth and just needed some time and help to get stronger.. he had the capability to do that on his own. I applaud him for using his resources to help this sweet baby.
Call the state DNR and ask for the biologist, not law enforcement. They won't help that much but the biologist probably will. If there is a nearby university with a wildlife department they could also help. Especially if the doe died during birthing. If you are in an area with CWD, they will want to see the doe. This is very important to keep the deer healthy.
Kat salem, I agree with your comment about why everyone asking why he didn't call a vet. Either way it doesn't matter because he nursed that baby fawn back to health , and returned to her natural mother . Instead of complaining in comments, people should be cheering on this guy , who helped it. I'm sure if he couldn't help it , then calling someone else in would of been his 2nd thought. And like you say kat, he looks like he lives way out in the wilderness 🙂
@@c.s9433 People do not seem to know that not the whole world is like their own home. For example, I live in Russia (2 world countries) in a city with a population of 100,000 people. For the whole city, we have 5 veterinarians and they all deal with dogs / cats. In autumn, I strongly doubt that one of them could help a deer or any other wild animal.
@@user-ff6dl9zr7u I understand what you are saying, Some countryside are not as fortunate as other places, regarding having the help of many organisations, but I just think regarding the video upload, it looks likes , he done really well how he helped the deer , just on his own , without any veterinary care
Yes and unless they are certified in Wildlife Veterinary care, most Vets aren't allowed to treat wild Animals, even though many wild Animals are gentle. The Deer's leg healed and she looked so happy running and wagging that tail 🤎🤍
I'm so glad you showed the little deer a few months later. I was afraid she would be left on her own to starve or be killed by predators. I'm touched by your kindness.
On his Channel he has a video of the deer family a year later .
You are an awesome person for taking good care of a disabled fawn, caring for her, and releasing her into the wild with her mother.
God bless you for saving this little sweetheart and for all your love.
I’m 68-years-old and I bawled like a baby when that beautiful dog started kissing her. Nothing more gorgeous than God’s creatures helping one another. This includes the love and care the humans provided for her. You had to let her go and I know she took a piece of your heart with her. God Bless you.

These comments always frustrate me. People are too busy acting like internet lawyers and veterinarians and are like "THIS IS ILLEGAL AND YOU ARE HURTING THE ANIMALS". Shut up and go back under your rock. Guy found an abandoned and injured fawn, helped it, and released it. Laws vary by state, but you are absolutely allowed (in most places) to take a wild animal for a short period of time with the intent for recovery and release. I'm telling you this as someone who has worked with local shelters and vets for helping distressed and abandoned animals. I've fostered and released everything from cats and dogs to raccoons, chickens, deer, and birds. I only ever kept one, a raccoon, and got a license for it. So ya'll need to learn your facts before you start acting like some professional, because you only sound like professional internet idiots. Thank you for saving this little fawn and giving her another chance.
I agree. I guess the only fair argument there could be is what about the poor hungry wolf and bear. although they will eat non animal items. I liked to see the little deer survive though it is cute
In which way. When people saved life does it mean the opposite
What has being vegetarian got to do with this? I've been vegetarian my whole life,u I don't understand your point.

The way animals love freely with no judgment or condition is so beautiful. Animals are a blessing
Perhaps pack animals...or mammals. I don't think a snake or scorpion "love freely" and they're animals. Heck, humans are animals and this guy rescued the deer. Perhaps "humans are a blessing"
Thank you so much kind Sir for helping the baby deer and returning her to her mom and sibling. I'm happy to see such kind souls like you and your beautiful dogs helping the small fawn 💗💗
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TAKING CARE OF THE BABY DEER. MAY HEAVEN RICHLY REWARD YOU.
May God shower you with the same grace and mercy that you showed to the helpless baby deer. Also, the way that Bernese "accepted" the baby right away was priceless. He only gave love regardless of their difference. Finally, when I saw the two grown up babies leaping out in the wild with the mother, it made me tearful. You gave them back all a precious life even though it was one baby you took in. God bless you , Sir!!! 😊♥️

@@iskiinthefastlane You mean your property is in tumblr? Either that or you live on a university campus. Or you are a member of a theater troupe although theater troupes tend to channel their feminism and social justice into versions of the tempest where Ariel is played by a woman and a man dressed as a woman and a greek chorus of women and men dressed as women. (Honestly was very entertaining 10/10 would watch a group of people playing a single character again) so I don't know why they'd be screaming in your ears in the third instance. When the mother walked away and the poor baby was left lying in the grass, my heart broke a little. Awesome job giving the little fawn a second chance! :) I just can't believe some of the comments here.
I know how you feel but that is the way nature is. It is heartbreaking to us but to them it is only natural.........
I noticed that the mom waited for the baby and licked it before leaving. I guess that was her way of saying goodbye. 😭
I have raised baby wild animals, and we always get attached to them. The hardest thing we can do is let them go even when we know that is what they need. A great man.
That is very cute story. The fawn is so attached to you. It did not want to leave you. That is very touching!
I'm sure her mother and sibling was grateful you rescued their daughter and sister 😇
i swear on some level this is like the deer version of leaving a baby on the doorstep of a church or firestation. she knows she can't care for this baby, but hopes the humans will. she doesn't exactly want her baby to die but can't keep the baby so this is like a desperate adoption attempt. especially if they observe the humans with pets or cattle in the yard and how big predators avoid the humans yard a bit more than the deep woods. it's like hmm, this could work. it seems intentional like she knew this was her baby's best chance. so beautiful that it worked!
Спасибо тебе добрый человек. Видно что всё животинки очень хорошие и живут в ласке и забота. Дай бог вам здоровья

This man has the most beautiful heart! ❤️
This man right here is the reason I still have faith in humanity
A lot of people are saying the mom was wrong for leaving the baby deer, and it is sad, but she was going with her instincts. She had few options in the scenario: she could stay with the hurt baby and risk the lives of all three, she could take the baby with her, again risking all of their lives, or she could leave the baby. This option had the highest chance of survival for both the healthy baby and the mom. By leaving the hurt baby, she only lost one child. It’s not an easy choice, but it was the best one, vice all three of them potentially dying.
I mean at least the man was able to help
Beta mother
Idiot people who say that a doe was wrong to leave her weak baby are clearly moronic and have no idea how nature works and try to treat animals like human babies. I have no patience with people who can't educate themselves and think that their option counts. It doesn't

Just keep her! She's bonded with you and your dogs!
Back when I was a kid, my brother befriended an adolescent female deer. He named her Bo, and she'd come by to visit almost every day. We had a deer lick set up on our property where we could sit and watch the deer, but she always came closer to us than the others. When we moved a few miles away, she actually found us and kept coming. She'd had two or three fawn and was clearly the alpha female when she got her hind leg caught on our neughbor's fence. Luckily, my dad and brother were able to untangle her, bring her and her fawn onto our property, and call an animal hospital about what to do. Basically, we could feed and water her, but her healing was out of our hands. The leg fell off at some point, but the stump healed nicely. Even with just three legs, she was still the alpha female in the area. She'd even eat from our hands after we rehabbed her. Sadly, we don't live there anymore and I haven’t seen her in years.
damn that was some connection.
