Today we explore what actually happened to the top 10 picks from every class starting with 2000 and ending off with the 2004 draft class. Some players from these NBA drafts go on to have long careers with tons of achievements while others just simply don't pan out due to injuries or not being able to keep up at the highest level. There are some big name players in here and players you might not have ever heard of. Either way this will be an interesting lesson on basketball history for you!

  • Kidd carried those Nets teams so hard! He's an underrated legend. Such a unique player to impact winning that much without being a great scorer.

    • @damonlaw8218 *False. LIES.* In 2002 Martin averaged 0.2 ppg game more than Kidd in the regular season, but half or more of his points were coming on open dunks generated by very elite playmaking from Kidd. Also Martin did not lead the Nets in Rebounds in 2002, he only averaged 5.3 per game, Kidd averaged 7.3 per game. And in the 2002 playoffs Kidd led the Nets in Points, Rebounds, Assists, and Steals. In 2003 Kidd again led the Nets in ppg in both the regular season and in the playoffs. Kidd was 2nd to Martin this year in the playoffs in rebounds, but aside from leading in Points again, Kidd also led the team again in Assists and Steals. Martin was okay, but he wasn't an All Star in those seasons, and he only made one All Star game in his career. In 2002 Martin was 17th in the NBA in Blocks (Kidd was 3rd in Steals in 2002) and 62nd in Rebounds (Kidd was 33rd and 1st amongst PG). In 2003 Martin was 17th in Rebounds, and a full 8 Rebounds per Game behind the leader Ben Wallace. Martin averaged only 0.9 Blocks that season which was tied for 38th (Kidd was 5th in Steals in 2003). Kidd was also a 9× All Defensive Team selection, including in both seasons they went to the Finals. Martin never made a single All Defensive Team. Martin was not much of a difference maker. Almost all he did was catch lobs and foul the shit out of people. *KIDD CARRIED*

    • I don't know that Kidd is underrated. He gets his props. His playmaking skills are touted by casual observers as well as elite analysts. And no one forgets his contributions to the Mavs title run. For all that he is not a top 5 point guard.

    • Today's NBA looks very soft, but when I remember how frequently injuries came before, I hesitate to want more physicality in defense.

      @acctsys@acctsysАй бұрын
    • @@acctsysit’s way softer than the 90s or 2000s. Softest in long time. Loved playing ball for the shit talking and the most, but it was pretty physical as well and it made tactics and intelligence made it more important than physical hight & strength. Playing with anyone who couldn’t take some contact in a high impact fast paced sport didn’t belong deserve any respect on the court!

  • Nique shouldn’t be a judge anymore imo. How he critiques dunks are too personal. I’d keep Dr.J , add Vince, add kemp , keep the girls out (makes no sense to have them on the panel). Then go get the creativity points ppl like Dee brown or something. Then you bring out the professional dunkers. Not the nba dunkers. Pro dunkers to finish the night off less boring. I get the time crunching , but if there was a way to properly rehearse dunks and character with the pro dunkers as coach it’d be much better. We also should appreciate and hype up all the athletes - trying to figure out something new to do with limited athleticism and pressure of being “basic” when 90% of the arena can’t even touch the rim Is extremely difficult. A windmill is not a regular thing , but we treat it like so(although I’m not gonna lie Vince’s windmill had everything ferocity, bounce , and creativity - even tho it’s been seen and replicated it has not had the same effect whatsoever on screen or in person gotta step it up)

Players now days whine and cry like babies cause they won't qualify for awards if they dont play at least 56 games. And their making 10× $$$. Soon the NBA will go all out woke
