    • I think he's understating the media bias against the Knicks. No, it's not a coordinated effort, but it's pretty obvious that in the casual fan's eyes (who make up most of the NBA's fanbase), the Knicks are still the team to laugh at. It takes a very long time to change that reputation - it took championships and multiple finals appearance for teams like Golden State to be taken seriously. Also, Brunson is an amazing basketball player, but his game isn't "sexy", for lack of a better term. He doesn't play for highlights, he's gritty, tough, and hardworking. No disrespect to other superstars, but he plays for his team first and foremost.

Knicks built their team up slowly, got players that get along mentally instead of trying to build superteams, and did not let the criticism get to their heads.

  • The NYK turnaround can be summed up with 1 word: patience. No more Hail Mary FA signing or trade, no more sudden change of direction, each year's success is built on top of previous year. Leon Rose, in my opinion, is the main reason why they were so patient.

    • Dolan went out of the way and let the execs he hired do their jobs. Probably the best addition by subtraction recently.

  • I think the one factor you disregarded about the Knicks losing the series against the Hawks was that Mitch Robinson was injured and would have been a big factor in the paint to counter Clint Capela. You see a huge difference when he is healthy.

  • Ive always rooted for my Knicks good or bad theres just something magical about them. We dont make a run often but when we do there nothing like it. Being from Texas living in Dallas I love reminding them of the mistake they made by giving us the true MVP. Luka could never.

  • You did a GREAT job on this! We are doing this without Randle. While his inside presence and scoring would have made us more formidable against a healthier Embid, his terrible handle and turnover proclivity was a clear liability. It seemed when OG showed up, Randle realized he didnt have to do everything. Interesting to see if Rose moves him without losing the positives he brings. Also, kudos to Rose who definitely had some missteps on his rode to being a bonafide GM guru, with the help of being on the right side of luck and ruthless opportunism (diplomatically speaking). Again great job from you. Was not expecting such comprehensive clarity from an independent youtuber.

  • As a Knick’s fan, this is a bit ambitious. Yes gone are the Ewing habitual playoff days I was used to but with melo we went three consecutive times. Last year they didn’t exceed anything the Melo era accomplished. It’s not just injury bc every team has that. Its depth to replace lost firepower. Nothing has changed in this regard. Even all the headlines about their record before losing randle - keep in mind that stretch of a dozen games where their record was severely improved only 3 teams had a record over 500. It was uniquely one of the worst stretches a team got. They beat the nuggets which is a good sign but that’s it. A win over a middling heat isn’t tantamount to a successful rebuild. If they make a run, or atleast consistently make post season despite injuries, I’ll believe. But not until then.
