This is a precautionary lesson for all Muslims about the dangers of the use of some words.

The subconscious behavior that drives us to imitate others is extremely powerful. only listening to people who talk in a vulgar or profane way will result in picking up on their phrases, or at the least finding them acceptable.
That is why it's so important that we surround ourselves with good, pious company and why this is always emphasised!!

Very good reminder. Too many of these words creep into our vocabularies and many of us don't truly understand that we will be taken to account for uttering them.
JazakAllahu Khayran ! This is a very important video especially for the younger generations. There are so many extremely dangerous words and practices that have become widespread and some people might not even realize that they are falling into Shaytan's traps by using/doing them. That's a reason why proper knowledge of Islam is important !!!

this is one of the best channels on youtube. for real brother. may allah give you al-firdaus for that effort allahumma amin
I've come across your lessons only a few months ago, and I thoroughly enjoy them. I've spent my entire university career as a teacher of Arabic as a foreign language (now retired), but I still learn things from you. It happens that I found your broadcast when researching online venues for teaching Qur'an to believers who do not know Arabic. Most of them were exceedingly dull talking heads with physical blackboards. Yours are exactly the type of thing that I had envisioned myself doing as a retirement project. But now, it seems that I don't have to, because you have already done it superbly well. Allah will certainly reward you for your great service to our brothers and sisters, the majority of Muslims who did not grow up with Arabic. As to unfortunate Christianized expressions that we might use but shouldn't, I just heard myself saying "Oh man!" (when witnessing scenes of the ongoing genocide in Gaza). But I caught myself, because of your advice. This expression began as a reference to the myth of the risen Christ, deriving from the expression 'Man alive". It's kind of a muted blasphemy like 'darn' and 'gosh' and 'jeez,' as you point out. So, we shouldn't be saying "Oh man," either. Or for that matter "Man alive" (which I think is a bit old fashioned nowadays). جزاك الله خيرا
You really feel like you're doing something wrong when you say "oh man"?
JazakaAllah kheir for this because I say “oh man “ quite a lot…would saying “man” also not be advisable?
I'm not an expert in this by any means, but in my opinion, saying "man" by itself, say, when addressing someone (and it doesn't matter if it is actually a man), is probably ok, because it is used in reference to the person addressed, not a reference to the myth of the risen Christ. That is, you are not invoking or swearing by the Christ by saying it. @@SisterinIslam87
I wouldn't say it is wrong as such, only best for Muslims to avoid using it when there are better options. I'd never thought of it until I heard this lesson. But I have known for a long time - I think since my twenties or before - that the reference is to the myth of the man Jesus who was said to have arisen from the dead. Since writing the response to the lesson, I've heard myself saying it several times. But I'm also consciously saying "Ya Allah" instead, in the hope of breaking the habit, with the help of Allah. @@jevinday

Just to share a bit of help for people who will make the effort to stop using bad words Please dont beat yourself up when you use these terms 2. Dont try to suppress it ... This is similar to creating a dam that is simply holding thw water back What you must do is, whenever you catch yourself saying any of the wrong terms... Immediately follow it up with the proper thing to say as recommended in the video You must begin to do this every time That way, youre not suppressing anything. Theres no built up force Rather, youre making your brain associate the correct terms with the same instances in which you use the wrong terms Before you know it, you would see that whenever one of the trigger events happen, you would literally have both the good and the bad terms on your tongue, That means, the urge for one wouldn't be stronger than the other From then on you can start choosing to say the good word until it becomes stronger than the bad Allah know best If you find this helps, like (👍) the comment so that more brothers and sisters can see it as they watch this helpful video
Your comment is very beneficial jazakalahu kheiran 🙂

For us new reverts and no Arabic speakers, a lot of the alternate words used, have no meaning to us. Can you make a video explaining the translations to some of these words so we know what we are saying and have a better understanding of how to use those words. Thanks!
سبحان الله = subhan allah = Glory be to Allah You say it when you see something beautiful that god created or u can use it when u r surprises of something weird like ( Subhan allah how can people be that stupid ) -- > i mostly use it in that case 😂 ماشاء الله = Mashallah = God willing You can use it when you are impressed by someone's beauty or when u see a little cute baby or anything that's beautiful in general. Like ( Mashallah you have beautiful eyes) or ( Mashallah you're baby is so cute ) or ( Mashallah you have a nice house ) تبارك الله. = tabaraka allah = blessed be god Same as Mashallah and u can use them both in one sentence like ( Mashallah , tabaraka allah how beautiful! ) الله أكبر = Allah akbar = Allah is the greatest Can be used in both positive and negative situations, we say it when someone accepts islam for example ( Allah the greatest guided this man or woman to islam ) We use it when a disaster happens like when someone dies or an earthquake hits or something falls . It's like no matter what... Allah akbar , Allah is the greatest and is the only one that matters and he can do anything.
لا حول و لا قوة الا بالله = La hawla wa la kowata ila billah = There is no power but from God we use it when annoyed or sad , it's can be considered as duaa too , like you are asking Allah to give you the strength to deal with something
So it's mostly prayers and dikr , whatever the situation is , it must remind you of Allah instead of leading you to curse or say something inappropriate .. and i think it's beautiful .
Jazakum Allahu khairan for this. I hope it actually goes out there and teaches Muslims around the globe. I do have a question. What should we say as an alternative to "R.I.P" in a situation involving a disbeliever's death if a response or reaction was expected from us?
May be. My condolences is much better
May Allah give patience to your parents May Allah make you patient etc

Deeds that reward a person equal to hajj if he does them correctly and sincerly 1. Perform Ablution properly and go for each obligatory salat in Masjid 2. After praying salat Fajr in congregation, then remember Allah(سبحانه و تعالى),by doing dhikr or reading quran, till (15-20 minutes) after sunrise to perform two superogratory rakat 3. Perform Umrah in the month of Ramadan is equal to Hajj 4. Going to Masjid to learn/teach beneficial knowledge 5. Saying SubhanaLlah 33, AlhamduliLlah 33, Allahu Akbar 33, and then say La ilaha ill-Allah wahdahu la sharika lah, lahu’l-mulk wa lahu’l-hamd wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadir
MashaAllah tabarakAllah, a very important video, brother. JazakAllahu khayr.
Jazaakallah kairan 🥰 Thanks for sharing this educative information.
A person said "Allahu Akbar". A few seconds later they said "La ilaha illalah", then immediately afterwards said "La ilaha illa Anta subhanaka inni kuntu min-adh-zalimeen". After that said "SubhanAllah". This way 70,000 good deeds were earned and MashaAllah, it was you who earned them
For "Jesus Christ", I'd also argue it's just insulting in general. We wouldn't say the name of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) like this and you could use the name of someone you know in an insulting way, so why use the name of one of our prophets insultingly? To be fair, 'Christ' on it's own isn't inherently against Islamic teachings if you look at the real meaning, but it's definitely something mostly used by Christians, so Muslims should probably avoid calling him "Christ" even neutrally. I'd also mention other phrases that are sadly common and involve swear words, such as "oh my f-ing god", "for God's sake", "Jesus f-ing Christ" (even quoting these makes me feel bad honestly). I'll admit that, as a white British revert to Islam, I do something use these (minus the swearing mostly, I've gotten a lot better at not swearing), but I'll try harder not to. I've been doing it often recently, so maybe Allah directly lead me to this video, as it appeared in my recommendations, especially as I think just today I was about to use the term 'godlike' when describing a superhero I made up to my friend, but then I quickly decided it probably wasn't a good idea. Anyway, barakallah fik! May Allah (azzawajal) reward you for these informative videos, they've been especially helpful for me as a revert! Jazakallah khair!
