Market = a place gor buying and selling things. It could be food, clothes...etc Bone = a solid thing humans and animals have under the skin. It keeps the structure of our body straight Afraid = scared Share = not keep to myself, give to others Snow = when temperature goes down, it comes from the sky and it's white Farm = where some animals grow and eat, usually sourrounded by fenses. Usually for the purpose of eating Mountain = higher lands where it is usually pointy at the top. Gold = an expensive yellowish material that used to be used as money. It is still used to preserve the money value. Coat = a clothe we put on to protect us from rain Heavy = not light
Market = a place where i can buy a groceries Bone = is a part of my skeleton afraid = what is the word that means when I feel unconfident and I decide to go away share = for example I have a portion of something whit anothers snow = how do you say when the sky is not clear and feels very cold Farm = place when grow the vegetables and other king of food usually is far from the city mountain = place which name is opposito of plano. gold= is a metal which is too expensive coat = is one kind of clothes for use in winter heavy = Idifficul thing to lift
Man you’re definitely a good teacher, it’s incredible how can I understand every single word that you say, and how can I get clearly all of your points of view. Thank you for being so kind and supportive with English students ❤👏🏾👏🏾☕️
Certainly.
Yeah, but he is speaking quite slowly. You better not expect that the native speakers talk like that in real life hahah
It could be in our real life as well hahahahaha
Market = place for buying a lots of things specially food Bone = each part your skeleton is made of Afraid = when you feel a little scared Share = divide something with someone Snow = the white thing that falls from the sky in small flakes in winter Farm = a place where some people do agricultural works e feed animals such as chickens Mountain = something like a hill but much higher Gold = a precious metal for example what is made the wedding ring Coat = very warm clothe similar to a jacket Heavy = not light
Good! 💪
You well done
You explained to more harder one
Farm = a place where grows food
Wow you are definitely Not bad at this 😮
You must be the most empathic and understanding teacher out there. I am a teacher myself and I use--and share--your videos with all my students, especially the ones in intermediate levels. THANKS for your wonderful job. ❣
I'm happy the videos help in some little way 💪
I like your humbleness Mr Canguroenglish.
empathic or empathetic, both mean the same..;eng is weird...
This happens even in my native language. It is good to be aware of this as well.
YES - these tips transfer over to any language, even our first language!
Every time my eldest daughter loses motivation at school (linguistic highschool!) I remind her that "school" and "learning" aren"t sinonyms and I tell her "Don't forget Christian's story and exemple!". Thank you teacher!
Italian?
What is this story?
Pppppp😊😊p0pppp😊pp😊p0000
Your example is... not clear
The best way to remember words is context. I ❤dictionaries with added contexts in the definition of each word. When you don’t remember a word, go around it with context as Christian mentions. I do it often even in my native tongue. Don’t be ashamed of not knowing or remembering, it happens to all of us even native speakers.
YOU'RE A MASTER IN TEACHING ENGLISH. CONGRATULATIONS. YOU DESSERVES A OSCAR STATUE
The best KZhead channel for english learners in the world.
I really appreciate the whole video, but at 10:15 there is a powerful flash: "Remember: real communication happens in context, not in textbooks" Thank you very much!
Tks, Christian. You make the world more understandable,
unlike other teachers, you touch the topics which really matter
This man is the best teacher, and we can see he is a great person: not only he wants to teach us, but he wants we learn too. Thanks, Christian.
And he has a cat.
It's so simple, because after all, we all do it very often in our native language. But still, it's a brilliant observation! Thanks a lot for these useful tips!
Market = The place you can buy stuff Bone = Breakable white thing in our bodies Afraid = Don't know what to do Share = Giving without expecting anything in exchange Snow = Rain but icy Farm = The place where crops thrive Mountain = The biggest rock you can imagine on the earth Gold = Yellow pericous metal Coat = The thing you wear when it's cold Heavy = A lot of kilograms
I would argue that "afraid" doesn't mean "Don't know what to do". This is too far-fetched. Intimidated, scared, "shit a brick" or something along these lines could serve as a replacement.
I would argue that your examples wouldn't be easily recalled either. It's more like "cannot do what you want to do".
@@matrizaevIt is clear you have a high level of English. Someone at a lower level will use words that make sense to them, in the moment. Suggestions like scared are more helpful than 5 syllable words like intimidated or idioms which do not sound nice. Put yourself in a beginners shoes. Keep it simple.
@@deedeeenQuestion. If I cannot do what I want to do, am I afraid? If I cannot go to the cinema, am I afraid? I'm not sure.
@@cillboon I forgot to add that "afraid" should also imply some degree of existing ability; that being, it's likely that one could do it, but because of them being afraid, they refused.
I didn't get teacher as you in my life congratulations my best teacher
Thank you SO much! You have rescued me and my German! You have inspired me to believe I am clever enough to remember those nasty kilometre-long German words! You are a very motivating teacher!
Market = a place to buy things or stuff, bone = a hard stick or thing in your body / leg / arm, afraid = fear, i don't like, i feel unhappy etc, share= give smth, snow = white stuff falling from the sky, farm = a place where animals, pigs and cows live, mountain= a high place, piece of ground, gold = metal of my ring, coat = jacket, warm clothes for outside, heavy= not light, difficult to move, to lift. It seems I use this tricks all the time. Thank you ❤
Dear Canguro: you're definitely my favorite English teacher! Funny, competent and helpful! Thanks!
I definitely love those tips. Even in my native language sometimes I forget words. Thank you so much Christian.
Your advice are the best for ambitious intermediate learners ....thanks
Doctor for the brain = Canguro
😂
Great advice for everyone! Even as native speakers my family and I often find ourselves unable to find the 'right word'. Rather than using brain cells to stare at the ceiling and say 'um', I try to immediately circle around the unknown word on known paths. I may not know a person's name, but I might well remember where I know them from, what they do for a living, hair color, etc. Even if a particular word seems necessary to communicate what's on your mind, it often isn't.
Market = a place where we find essential somethings Bone = portion of body skeleton Afraid = moments when you feel unfavorable Share = knowledge or ideas pass with others Snow = a small portion of packed waterbody Farm = a place of animals Mountain = high land or peak points Gold = a precious minerals which is used for ornaments Coat = a formal warm cloth Heavy = weight
I used to work on a Criuse Ship and all those things are true!! Gestures, face expressions, tone of you voice... all that stuff comunicates sometimes more than words! My turn around word would be something like this: Market - that place to buy and sell things Bone - the structure of you body… like… your teeth is a(…) Afraid - insecure, with fear Snow - that white flake Farm - big green place with animals Mountain - big huge rock Gold - yellow metal rich people can afford Coat - jacket for cold days Heavy - hard to lift
You are the philosopher of English language teaching. Thank you
The best channel and the best content I've come across this year !

Like all your videos, this is another excellent example that with the correct mindset, anybody can be fluent in the language, and when I said fluent, I mean have the opportunity to communicate. Thanks a lot, Christian.
This gentleman is by far the best english teacher I ever came across. Respect !!!
I love the way you explain and encourage us to use different tricks for easy communication! I thought to say "shop for bread" will definitely make me look like a total beginner in English. But you persuaded me that it is better to describe something in simple words than stuck and mumble something while trying to find a right word) I will be mad at myself anyway that I forgot the word, but I will be glad that the person understood me!
Christian, I'm so happy I stumbled upon your channel.... THANKS to that eye-catching title! It really hit home for me because I've been grappling with similar challenges in my speaking.
