@@unionknight we use an external HDD to store game installation kit files, but the games themselves are installed on the laptop's SSD and played from there.

Thank you! We didn't use a cooling pad, everything is how you buy it from the shop. Yes, the 2020 version has a noticeably improved cooling solution compared to previous versions.
@@Notebcom Ahh as I said to you in earlier in another video my 2019 model runs at 89-94 Celsius for NFS heat..... So i was carefully observing yours..... By the way will reducing maximum processor state to 99% do any harm to my cpu how will it affect the gaming....? I noticed that games take more time to load at reduced processor state.... What's your view on that? And I also noticed lags/sticks in NFS heat at 99% processors state.. Can you please do a video on such things bro?
@@jerinjoy5435 Processor state is basically the highest performance state the processor can achieve, where 1 is the lowest and 100 is its maximum. If you set it to 99%, you are limiting the processor to 99% of its performance. However, depending on how this limitation is implemented in the OS and the processor, setting it to 99% may have detrimental effects on overall system performance. If you want to reduce maximum temperatures while keeping your performance you need to do one or all of the following: - replace the thermal paste with IC Diamond 24K - undervolt the CPU - buy a cooling pad

just got me the Nitro 5 i5-10500H GTX 1650 a few days ago on Ebay for 510usd, its arriving today :D i was kinda worried about its performance but you just fixed all of them :D
This laptop is better than it looks on video, recording takes a hell load of frames, so the games that ran like 60 or 40 fps, run at like 80 fps when not recording. Also, Thanks for putting in The effort to make this video man!
The performance penalty is not that large for recording on this laptops. It's about 10-5% depending on the game. It's higher on low powered laptops

I appreciate all the hard work you put into this, I’ve looked for good gaming laptop tests on KZhead for a while and this has been by far the most helpful one. I was just wondering, does this computer make a lot of noise? My current gaming laptop sounds like a jet engine and I’ve been looking for something quieter. I want to be able to commentate on videos with minimal amounts of noise.
You can read our full review on this laptop on noteb.com . We have section called noise. However, this laptop will probably be just as noisy as your previous laptop , that's how all gaming laptops are. So far only the Lenovo Legion 5 seemed quieter from all the laptops we tested.
I've been planning to get this laptop, the price for the specs really surprised me and after seeing that it could play these games on high settings, it really blew me. I'll get back here once I get it. Great video!

Thank you for not turning down the settings and showing us the power of this laptop on high to highest settings, definitely picking it up as the games I play are older than these so I'm not concerned about performance too much. One question I do have is whether or not the laptop stutters a lot due to a potential thermal throttle, as I've heard this laptop runs exceptionally hot.
This laptop hasn't stuttered at all during our testing. I don't know why you think this laptop runs exceptionally hot. It does run hot, but it's given the temperatures at which other laptops usually run, this machine has pretty decent temps. Most of the time it stays under 95C, which I can't say the same for other machines.
@@Notebcom Good to know, it's just something I heard reviewer's mention all the time about this laptop. They mentioned thermal bottlenecks caused by thermals and stuff when stress testing the laptop, but those tests are designed to put the laptop under maximum stress so it could just be that. That's good it didn't stutter, only reinforces my confidence in getting one.

Some laptops have the opposite behaviour.

Ok... first of all. Tysm for putting effort into this cuz this made me feel wayy more better about my choice. Im getting this laptop really soon and the thing is, the cpu and gpu of it is slightly better AND its not that i will play at high settings in all games. The fact most of the game gives 30-60fps minimum at the highest quality makes me feel good cuz its definitely gonna be better if its medium or sum.

this is literally a mobile console with better graphics and slightly better fps performance. it hits slightly better fps in open world games than console. this is very impressive.

If anyone is thinking the fps is a bit low. They are using some recording software, fps counter thing and also most of the games were on their highest settings.

You get 8-10% FPS without the recording software. We are saving money so that next year we will buy a video stream capture card and then the performance penalty will be gone.

Sorry to break this to you, but the Intel 10th series can only be undervolted in a handful of laptops. The Nitro 5 is not among them. It's official Intel policy that with the 10th series undervolting should no longer be possible.

Yes, the laptop in this video is the same specs with the exception of the display. The laptop in the video had a 60Hz display while you have a 144Hz one.

You can play MSFS on minimum settings. Fortnite should be able to pump 120 FPS without issues .
