Two beautiful parts of this scene. 1. How he turns around after killing her to tell her it was right where he said it was. 2. How the music stops when the car stops then starts back up at a climax.

The crazy part is they cut to the parking lot scene in the *middle of them looking for the car. Which means she was taunting him a little longer than we seen on screen. Annoying people are something else

It wasn’t just a Tarantino thing - the exact same scene happens in the book the movie was based on: “Rum Punch” by Elmore Leonard. It’s a good read. QT stayed pretty faithful to the book, except the book was set in Miami. This is one of my favorite movies of all time. De Niro’s performance is so fantastic; it’s one of his best performances.

There were cameras but pretty basic, usually the size of a small suitcase, bright white and bolted to the corner of a building, not like the tiny, discrete 360 degree spyballs these days.

You seriously have to give credit to the camera crew. They did a back up walking shot without showing the camera reflection in any of the car windows. Also it is ,ore believable when they shoot the backseat shot and so not take out the rear view mirror.
Backseat shot shouldn't be too hard, just adjust the mirrior. They probably had the choice of where to place the cars in the lot, if you noticed one of the windows where rolled down where the reflection was unavoidable.
My ex wife looked similar to Bridgette Fonda when we met……but I understand the scene now 🤣
