  • You've recommended millet as a healthy alternative to oatmeal, but I just watched another video and the doctor said that millet is really bad for your thyroid. I'm really having a hard time finding foods that are healthy to eat. It seems there is something bad in everything. So, if breakfast cereal is bad, anything with sugar or made with flower is bad, in fact, all processed foods are bad, too much fruit is bad, bacon and eggs are bad, millet is bad, and now, oatmeal is bad, but maybe not as bad as the other things that I've mentioned. We have to eat something so considering the alternatives I guess oatmeal isn't so bad. What do you think? Also, I would love it if you would make a video showing what YOU ate for the entire day yesterday. This would give us an example of one entire day of completely healthy eating. 😀UPDATE 2/24 - Okay, I found a solution! It's oatmeal from - One Degree Organic Foods - It's organic oatmeal that is gluten free, sprouted rolled oats and it's certified glyphosate free and non GMO verified. I got it from Costco and it comes in 5 lb bags.

Well whatever you subscribe to Vegan, vegetarian, Paelo, keto or carnivore - just eat organic whole-food that’s in season and zero processed food, no packets, no tins, no pizza. And enjoy your whole food in season. Monitor your weight, bowel movements, sleep and energy - keep a food dairy and learn to listen to your own body and be your own Doctor. • There is different layers of what is considered healthy. Some people think just because they are not diagnosed or on medication they are healthy, but others may consider being healthy when you optimize and push the limits to make your body as healthy and fit as theoretically possible for your given age/lifestyle/etc. also saying oats is bad doesn’t mean it’s as bad as other things, and that you still can’t make it through life eating them, it’s just become a popular health trend to eat oats, which is misleading in a way. There are people who smoke cigarettes and live “long healthy” lives but that doesn’t mean cigarettes are good.

Some erroneously call it "a fast metabolism", but I just call it "lucky." You don't have to be a medical expert to understand that everybody has a unique metabolism. If eliminating oats from your diet has helped you to achieve weight loss and feel better, that's great, but it doesn't necessarily guarantee that the same food that impacted you negatively will affect others in the same way. The doctor failed to mention the positive attributes of oatmeal such as the effect on cholesterol, the soluble fiber, and it's ability to absorb up to 100 times it's weight in water. As a personal aside, my mother suffered terribly from morning sickness with her first 3 pregnancies. When I came along she had a doctor tell her to eat oatmeal, and it greatly helped that problem. She fed me much delicious oatmeal throughout her life.

Some women add (high phytase) buckwheat flour during the soaking period which is still a common practice in some eastern european countries

For example, if you like pork but can't find "certified humane" and "organic" labels or farm-raised pork in your area, go for other meat like grass-fed beef. If you must eat sugar, pick sweet potatoes over grains (wheat, oats, rice) and fruits. You don't need to worry about lectins if you are 1) metabolically healthy, and 2) prepare those ingredients the right way.

Food companies want us to believe it’s STILL SIMPLE - but they have industrialized nutrients OUT of food - sprayed chemicals and genetically engineered our SIMPLEST of foods so that they are no longer considered ‘food’ by our own bodies. We are getting sicker and sicker with each generation. We have to pay attention. We have to reclaim what we consume. And hopefully won’t have to turn to BIG PHARMACEUTICALs to be our savior. ‘Don’t take it personally. It’s just business, right?’ …No, this is so wrong. And generations from now, our progeny will be shaking their heads at how ‘The Free Market’ was an acceptable reason for making us all sick.

Also, Millet is suggested as an alternative, but Millet can cause thyroid and gastro problems, and should be avoided by people who have thyroid conditions. So, if you want to continue to eat oatmeal without the worry of glyphosate, choose an organic oatmeal brand that does not use it.

Since they are sprouted, they must have been fermented with water long enough before being dried, so I 'm assuming that sprouting process removed most (if not all) the hazardous lectins? Additionally, since they are organic, I assuming that no herbicide nor pesticide was used on these oats at all? By the way, I freeze my bag of oats to convert a greater percentage of the oats to a resistant starch, which not only lowers the glucose effect, but also creates more of a pre-biotic food for my friendly bacteria in my gut.
