  • The amount of pain in Alanis voice is excruciating yet soothing at the same time.

  • Beautiful, Alanis Morissette. Your song was sung as if you were singing to your friend Lisa Marie Presley. So heartfelt and moving. Thank you, Alanis, for saying good-bye in song and in such a passionate way. Lisa Marie and Elvis heard you in Heaven, as they heard Axl Rose.

    • Yea unfortunately, it really wouldn’t be appropriate. My guess is the artists would feel uncomfortable as well. In a word, reverence.

  • Alanis. Is genuine and a brilliant artist. Lisa Marie was unfortunately a victim of the ruthless Hollywood. Typical

  • They say the dead are always present at their own funeral. The unmatched pathos in this wondrous piece of music, to me, it says this is what I want you all to know of my beautiful and sad life. I would've felt with the over powering love of letting go that I had expressed myself. Only upstaged by Alanis' performance.

    • Actually it is about mental health. Posting the five-minute song on KZhead, Alanis Morissette wrote: “Today is #MentalHealthAction Day. I'm sharing a song entitled ‘Rest’ written specifically about those of us who struggle with depression and anxiety, isolation, suicidal ideation and the profound despair that mental illness can plunge us into.”

      @grizzlymandias9431@grizzlymandias9431 Жыл бұрын
    • The lyrics are in no way about suicide, although self medicating could be looked at as a slow suicide since its self destructive. The specifics don't matter Alanis and everyone there understood it was appropriate.

  • Did write that song 🎧 for LMP?

    • I think it was written kinda with the passing of Linkin' Park's Chester Bennington.

    • It was written after Chester Bennington died

    • It wasn't written for LMP. I also don't believe it was written to honor Chester Bennington, although since the song was written about mental health. Alanis debuting the song at the "Linkin Park and Friends: Celebrate Life in Honor of Chester Bennington" concert made sense since Chester did struggle with mental illness and died due to suicide. According to Alanis herself she said “Today is #MentalHealthAction Day. I'm sharing a song entitled ‘Rest’ written specifically about those of us who struggle with depression and anxiety, isolation, suicidal ideation and the profound despair that mental illness can plunge us into.”
