  • EXTREMELY good open back audio quality, both exceptional for gaming and music, really good build quality, plug and play (no bs software), two types of ear cushions which are both phenomenal for comfort and sound, really good comfort (atleast for me), and an exceptional microphone. It also comes with extra cables and a carrying case. It is just really worth $170 imho. Drop also has really good shipping and customer support. Just one touch about build quality. I've had the PC37x for a longggg time, and just got the 38x. I have never had QC issues, and I know that the plastic might feel cheap, but it is actually pretty strong and durable. I know the 37x has the same build on the top band, and the bracket doesn't pop out, and I've had the headset for about 2 years. I truly think that you might just have a defective product, because both my 37x which I've had for 2 years, and 38x doesn't do that. I really think that this headphone review mostly subjective, and I mostly respect that. The only thing about this headset for me, is that I wouldn't recommend it to someone who is in a loud or noisy environment, that's it. I also really do feel bad for you that you probably got a defective copy (talking about the headband piece popping out).

    • It is the best headset I've ever owned. I pair it with my Sennheiser GSX1000 for gaming audio, for music I simply use my Focusrite 212. I prefer the ear cushions that came installed with it rather than the other ones as it has more openness to them. I use them for my Quest 2 for VR gaming and the extra cable that comes works perfectly for the Quest 2.

Closed back just has far more versatility and the low end you sacrifice alongside the sound leak from open backs is just not really worth it unless if you live alone or can actually afford to spend time sitting in a silent room listening to music. The pricing a good pair of open backs is not friendly for budget listeners.

  • These are definitely some of the best sounding headphones you can get for the price, I’ve been absolutely stoked with the sound quality which is what really matters, and build quality seems to be on par with other headphones (most people don’t review headphones so they won’t be twisting and flexing them to test it’s limits, so that’s a nonissue for 99% of people) literally the only issue I’ve had is with that pressure point under your ear mentioned at 3:30 due to the long ear cups, which only bothers me after hours of use. So I would definitely highly recommend these headphones!

    @jaytothesun99@jaytothesun99 Жыл бұрын
  • You say it feels flimsy because it's plastic, and then demonstrate by stretching the headset in a way that no normal person would *ever* do just to prove a point. Nobody is going to stretch their $160 headset so the cups are almost 90° from each other, and even then, the headset didn't even break, the rail just popped out. Also, what's the purpose of a headset? To produce audio and allow the user to communicate clearly. Does this headset do both of those things to a stellar level? Yes, far better than similarly priced headsets.

    @Papa_Swish@Papa_Swish3 жыл бұрын
  • Praising the M50X reassured me, that while I love his reviews and honesty, I myself am better off watching audio related stuff somewhere else. The M50x to me is a plain unrealistic and boomy experience with too extended highs. The PC38x outperforms it in music AND gaming. I can understand his criticism about it being plastic all over, but I don‘t think the excessive bending is anything to go by. It‘s the same design since the Game One and many users still use that and like the reliability and build quality over the years. That‘s saying more to me about Sennheisers quality than pulling the headset apart.

    @87detto@87detto3 жыл бұрын
    • Oh and very jarring too: He compares PC38x and HD58x and says they sound the same / similar. But what he doesnt mention is that the pc38x has way way better imaging and soundstage, which is imortant for gaming, and also is bad on the M50x for example.

      @87detto@87detto3 жыл бұрын
    • As you might have caught from the video, I never claim to and never want to be an audiophile. Yes I love the m50 and also prefer more highs, again this is a gamer review and I am a gamer. I have watched other reviews on this set and 95% of them are from audiophiles that might game sometimes. So for a "gamer" I highly believe there are better options than this headset at this price

  • I know this is old, but this is terrible. PC38X is still one of the best gaming headphones. Better imaging, better soundstage, open-back (which won't matter in 99% of circumstances), build quality is really good (plastic is usually to keep the weight down Senn does it with most of their headphones don't be stupid with them and you shouldn't have a problem), and the price seriously? Less than $200 in the US... Doesn't even need a dac/amp (I plug them in with a USB dongle if that tells you anything) and mic is functional enough with a auto mute. It is literally everything thing you need and one of the best sound quality wise you can get for gaming and even sound good for movies and music as well. It is a complete package. I am an audiophile and still chose them over much more expensive headphones I have for gaming. They are better for gaming than even something like Audeze's LCD-GX, which about $800 last I checked. They are better than Astros, better than Mobius, better than...This video's hot take is bad.

Your points are right on though, there are many times where my kid or Wife can hear my stuff out of my headset (Sennheiser 599SE Openbacks) though I have found that in games like COD or something I don't notice the outside noise. I'm buying a pair of Arctis 7 to try out and I'm worried that Closed Backs going to be rough to adjust to. Thank you for your thoughts on this one as I have looked at getting it myself, cheers.

But even with the "Return the Dislike" plug-in, it only shows 1K likes and 335 dislikes, which is clearly wrong. So to anyone new seeing this video, and thinking it's great - it's not, this review was widely disagreed with by the majority of watchers, before the dislike button was removed.

  • The mic quality alone worths the "cheap" built. For me it was on purpose and it's surely the lightest on the table. And again the MIC quality is bananas. KZheadrs tend to forget this part and focusing heavily on the sound. Which is normal. But amazing mic, lightweight, cool design (I don't mind the yellow), terrific sound (i like an extra little deep sound), and again the MIC alone + sound quality.

  • I will preface this, this video is an opinion that’s the nature of a review so I am not saying he is wrong at all. I just don’t want people to miss out on what I view as a very high quality piece of kit on this single review. My experience: I replaced my Arctis 7p and so far: The sound and mic are far superior on pc. On ps5 the sound is better but I feel the mic is about the same. Yes I can hear more outside the headset, it doesn’t lock the sound in, nature of being open back, but for me, not a problem. I can just about hear my phone on half volume while watching a video, I can clearly hear my phone on full volume. Both while next to me of course. But I rarely game in a noisy environment., not sure about techne here. The headset is very comfy in my view, especially after being broken in. So I have lost out on wireless, but you know what, I’m not overly fussed, ps5 I can just take my pad with me, pc, okay, I have to take the headset off if I’m stepping away. No big deal, the wire itself, meh. Doesn’t bother me at all. Overall a very positive experience and I love this set, best gaming headset I’ve ever owned.

And then some... Actually I have something like about 50 of them... But let's just say I have a couple of PCs, all Xboxes, all Playstations (except 5... Yet... But I will have it later), All Nintendos... Well, you should get the point already ;) I've been using my old, but trusty Sony MDR-CD580 headphones for... Well, what? 20 years? And they still do their job and sound good (but no mic, of course). Also, I just bought SoundblasterX G6 and have bought Dolby HeadphoneX and DTS-X to my computer (so, they are also on my Xbox(es)). Which means, that I want (mainly) to use headphone with 3,5" jack. I mainly play on PC and Series X. But also on PS4 and surely on PS5, when I get that. It would be fantastic to be able to buy just one headset, that would fit all of my needs, but is that even possible? ;) Also, I hate those horrible microphones, that have tinny sound. So, if I'll go and buy one, it should also have a good microphone... You see my problem there? xD
