So the series finale of Secret Invasion has thrown the world into chaos. Setting us up for Nick Fury’s newest mission in The Marvel’s and a fight with the new Kree villain, Dar-Benn. As well as setting up Thunderbolt Ross for his long-awaited revenge in Captain America: Brave New World, and Phase 5’s final film, Thunderbolts.
And a little later we’ll talk about how we could see an unlikely alliance between Thunderbolt Ross and Dar-Benn Den-Barr. [clip, would you like to form an alliance]
So for me, Secret Invasion was pretty underwhelming. I was really hoping that this show would be able to stick the landing and salvage the series. But… [clip]
But despite the series' anticlimactic ending, it did lay some serious groundwork for what's to come in Phase 5 of the MCU. The world is in absolute chaos. Despite Fury and Gaiah defeating Gravick to prevent a human-Skrull war from happening-it looks like it's going to happen anyway. [clip]
President Ritson’s reckless reaction to the Skrull invasion and attack on his life has lit a fire that I’m not sure could ever truly be stopped. The President of the United States just confirmed that shape shifting aliens exist and labeled them enemy number one.
So we all knew that Secret Invasion would likely end with Fury going back to space. Because, in The Marvels trailer we saw him back on the space station. He’s returning to space to begin talks with the Kree who are interest in peace talks with the Skrulls-meaning that we could see the Skrulls get to migrate to planet Hala and live in Harmony with the Kree.
Now this is pretty significant considering that the Kree and the Skrull were at war for a long time. In Captain Marvel we learned that unlike in the comics, the Skrulls weren’t the instigators in their war with the Kree. [clip]
So it makes sense that the Kree would be open to redeeming themselves of their Skrull genocide. After Captain Marvel defeated Yon-Rogg and The Supreme Intelligence and exposed their lies and manipulation to the other Kree, I could see new leadership looking to rectify their past transgressions against the Skrulls.
Doug: Why can’t the Skrulls go live on that planet Thanos went to after the snap?
Because that’d make too much sense.
So anyway, in The Marvels we’ll be meeting a new villain, Dar-Benn. In the comics Dar-Benn was very displeased with the Kree’s new leader and attempted to assassinate him and place the blame on the Skrulls.
I think this is EXACTLY what we’ll be seeing take place in The Marvels. A wartime character like Dar-Benn will be very critical of the Kree’s new leader as well as Carol Danvers Captain Marvel who she calls [clip]
She likely holds a big grudge against Captain Marvel for destroying the Supreme Intelligence and helping the Skrulls. So when Dar-Benn learns that the new Kree leadership is considering peace talks with the Skrulls, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see her assassinate the new Kree leader and try to pin it on the Skrulls, as well as Earth and Captain Marvel. Thus putting a stop to any peace talks.
And it’s worth mentioning Dar-Benn’s resemblance to Ronan the Accuser, both wielding these pretty badass hammers.. [clip]

@@kptmaci4979 I think the reason The Kree/Skrull war is over will be answered in the Marvels which takes place before Secret Invasion. My hunch is some of the Skrulls help solve the problem of Hala dying and this puts the peace talks in motion

He's probably sick or as other say, on vacation. He sounds tired to me. If it were AI generated then it would be as upbeat and energetic as usual, because that'd be the tone that AI had most data for and learned on. It would sound inhuman, but in a different way.
I really can't see Bucky being a part of Thunderbolts. Especially if U.S. Agent is on the team. He's too close a friend to Sam Wilson to team up with someone that he watched murder another person. I also think that there will be other villains in the Thunderbolts line up that aren't included in your image.
I'm hoping he leaves and joins the Avengers honestly. Wasn't a fan of him being put on the Thunderbolts in the 1st place

@@Danvies6 Cap and Iron Man were never friends, so the Civil War in the MCU was a foregone conclusion. Sam and Bucky are way to close to ever come to that level of animosity.

Secret Invasion could have been a bigger show with higher stakes, but with only 6 episodes it was an almost impossible task. That said, I liked the ending, and everything that happen in the past 5-10 minutes will lead to pretty big things in upcoming MCU projects, which I like. The world being in chaos, countries (or governments) messing things up and everything being polarised is something *very* realistic, all things considered.
And like the last 4 episodes were barely even 30 minutes long. Such a waste. The long ass intro was like 3 minutes of that.

Whatever is different about the audio…is not working-the interaction between Ryan and the dog is not as natural. There’s just an emotional flatness, a disconnect. The audio is different in the “commercial” part of the video, more like usual and it’s crisper. Hope everything is okay! Sometimes we have to make he best of a challenging situation.

Okay so im still particularly confused on when Gravik turned on Fury, when Rhodey was taken, and how did any of the humans survive being in that radiation for years?
It seems a pretty fast turn for Fury to come back after the Blip, get the skrulls together and collect DNA (presumably half of the skrulls dusted too?). Then within that time Fury goes to space and Gravik starts abducting people? Or Gravik turned on Fury before that, and still went to collect DNA, but didn't steal it at that point?

Then Fury said bye bitches I'm depressed and went up to SABER space station, had a Skrull recruit Monica Rambeau in Nov of 2023 right after SWORD was destabilized (after the events of Wandavision), and join him up at SABER. I'm so confused, also, in the Fall of 2025, the DOD have turned their sights onto investigating some shady powered individuals who call themselves the Clan Destines, and its possible one of them is a brown skinned teen (no racist I swear) living in Jersey City so they must investigate but then they are pulled back by their commanding officer because that's just bad optics, Nick Fury comes down from SABER space station with Monica Rambeau just shortly after this in Fall of 2025, visit said superpowered teen who calls herself "Ms. Marvel' and I guess Nick Fury needs her help for some intergalactic threat on another planet which will involve Captain Marvel and "the Kree" (who the hell are they??), but that's on a need to know basis, then somewhere in Europe, a group of various hunters are gathered for some event at an old man's funeral and reportedly there is a swamp like creature and a werewolf spotted; fitting for Halloween, and if that's not enough, Christmas of 2025, Kevin Bacon is reported to be kidnapped by Drax and Mantis of the GotG, but he is safely returned a few days later just in time for Christmas, then, some time in mid July of 2026, after doing a book signing and bailing out his annoying activist daughter yet again, Scott Lang and his family reportedly go missing for a few days; Mr Lang hasn't talked much about that incident since; just looking rather worried and occasionally saying "Kang" while walking down the street; also, SABER reports some intel on the Guardians of the Galaxy successfully defeating a mad scientist in another part of the galaxy, but sadly the team has disbanded (or reformed into a new team) and reportedly, Peter Quill has reunited with his grandfather on Earth in over decades; lastly this brings us to current year, Nov of 2026, where, after a terrorist attack on Nov 4th Union Day holiday in Russia, where his long time Shield agent, Mariah Hill, was murdered (along with over 2000 people in said bombing), Nick Fury has successfully rescued President Ritson from a previously presumed Russian attack, which has turned out to be a covert "invasion" of sorts by a group of alien shapeshifters known as Skrulls, who apparently have been here for over 30 years (yikes), resulting in President Ritson doing a State of the Union address declaring war on all of them and any non Earth born entitites as well, while also secretly speaking with Fury on the phone, telling them to get them off "my planet"; lastly we have learned that Nick Fury will be going back up to SABER to help with some supposed peace talks of some alien groups on a distant planet while Sonya of MI13 in Britain, has recruited a new unknown woman, possibly linked to the Union Day massacre, with super powers who may or may not have gotten them from Avengers and other past superpowered beings DNA, including T'Challa's, which means she might have inherited his incurable illness so her days might be numbered, fingers crossed...

That's probably one of the best, and most concise wrap ups of pre/post endgame MCU, also have me some good laughs. There's still appears to me that there's A LOT more in terms of plot holes throughout phase 4 than I originally realized.

@@budgiecat2885 That is really comprehensive and long summary of the phases 4 and 5 so far. Just a nitpick (or two), it would be better if you used paragraphs and fullstops as this one long-ass sentence is difficult to read. Second thing, it was not Gravik but Talos impersonating Fury in Far from Home. Still the timeline on Secret Invasion is not known, when was Rhodey and Everett Ross replaced in MCU?? Rhodey was wearing hospital gown which would imply that it happened during or after Civil War and that during Infinity War and Endgame it was Skrull Rhodey fighting with Avengers. But also Fury made Gravik and his team of Skrulls collect DNA samples of all the Avengers and villains most likely after final battle in Endgame. So was Gravik still loyal to Fury or he was secretly plotting this for years? So many questions that remained unanswered in the series. Is it really late 2026 during events in Secret Invasion?
WE havent seen long term super skrull effects, so they can very easily take her powers away by saying they burned out or werent permanent without constant boosting. Or they can go the cancer route and say that her body is rejecting all the DNA, have her get pregnant and die ,and she gives birth to Hulkling.
I got one failsafe for it: The HARVEST DNA has T'Challa's DNA and with that comes his uncurable life threatening illness. Bye G'iah bye

I think he just expects too much, most of these shows are made for teens or people who just casually watch. They have people like him in mind but they don't write these shows solely for the fanatics. Every casual watcher loved the show bc they don't really care about the details they just thought "oh thats cool"
Instead of Dar-Benn, Gravik (if they could somehow reverse the ending of SECRET INVASION episode 6) should have teamed with Ross against Ritson.
Imagine retcon by his extremis ability patching up the hole or his body is left, DNA of many potential stranded for other scientists or skrull scientists to pick up on
I was hoping they would reveal that the destruction of Skrullos was secretly justified. And Fury and Marvel tried to find them a home but no one wanted the war mongering Skrulls anywhere near them. That would just make everything make so much more sense, that Talos was ashamed of his past and tried his best to make the young Skrulls choose a new path.
Thunderbolt Ross wants to make Terra great again. Recent history has taught us that won't end well.
I like how Fury goes right back to SABER at the end like the Skrulls aren’t currently under attack. He did the exact thing Gravik said he did after the blip which was abandoning the Skrulls in their time of need lol.

You really need to watch this final episode twice. With the first viewing, you need to allow all of your expectations and pre-conceived notions die in a mound of disappointment. Then, only then, will you be able to enjoy it for what it, ultimately, is.
Will you? Will you really? Because even just the last ten minutes ruin any sense of enjoyment for me. You know, the part where Giah becomes an unstoppable god, and then just a few scenes later, humanity starts executing her entire species?
That would only happen if there was an end scene I missed the first time where the whole series is shown to be in a different universe than Earth 616. Then the She-Hulk universe (also not 616) can have an incursion and the SH and SI universes can destroy each other. THAT I would enjoy.
This could develop into not only attacking scrolls but also mutants, hence introducing the x-men

I honestly think we won't see G'yia again. They've potentially overpowered her. The only way they can realistic bring her back is if her powers aren't permanent or she sometimes has problems wielding them.
Or she might not ever return because after watching humanity start executing her entire species she decides not to help them? Or she might return as a villain because, you know, humanity is EXECUTING HER ENTIRE SPECIES? Those are just a few more possibilities. Which make far more sense. Because. You know. HER ENTIRE SPECIES IS BEING EXECUTED.

The reality is that what characters we see in the MCU again, is determined by what Marvel, Marvel Studios, and the writers and directors of the film want. As I stated before, I don't think they can bring her back in her current form - who would enjoy a movie or TV show where one character can conquer every antagonist presented to them? It's the same reason why Superman has kryptonite. There would hardly ever be any drama without it.
I think so too, also not hating on Emilia but the character was pretty dumb and annoying and I hated every time she was on screen. She did a good job just the character was written as I described.

I would assume that super skrulls would have powers but not the the extent of their original owners. Sort of a jack of all trades but master of none situation. Sure some would have multiple powers but that would be a logical way of limiting those powers as not to be game breaking within universe.

The writing priorities these guys have is just stoooooopid! For example the most interesting part of the show… when the world finds out about Skrulls and start an all out war against eachother we get like 2 scenes… instead of the whole series being that. And the lead up to the next series events is just a line by Fury, ”That’s a real 1 term move, Mr. President.” Just with that they will think it’s acceptable to just SHOVE RedHulk in with no build up and everyone is just supposed to go with the flow. It’s bad writing. All of the real information and scenarios from the comics that would be interesting are given to us as ‘One Liners’ … it just feels so lazy

Dark Reign. This is where the MCU is going story-wise.
What I'd like to see is MCU screen adaptation of Sorcerer Supreme of the Galaxy. I think that even this ending sets up some ground for that, because in the comics Skrulls are said to kill humans on sight and this ending clearly starts a war between humans and Skrulls; plus we have machine to create super Skrulls, so we can have Doctor Strange fighting a Super Skrull... I just think it would be super cool to see Doctor Strange traveling through the galaxies and learning alien magic
The last episode made the whole season worth it. Idk why everyone is shitting on this show.

Considering current events with Congress and UAPs, the ending with the president is eerily relevant.
I dunno, if they don't give her a weakness, G'iah is probably going away for a while. There is no point to her character. She can defeat anyone at anytime with no problems. Apparently even if another dude has the EXACT same abilities... or maybe she just used her Disney plot girl power to defeat Gravik? Either way there is no point to her character, she is Superman without the kryptonite weakness. They did the same thing to Captain Marvel, waited until the end of her movie to give her a power that is basically God Mode, then you don't see her do anything of significance until End Game (where she completely demolishes everything in her path, including Thanos until he uses an infinity stone against her, and even that is temporary). Then she disappears again, occasionally calling to check in. It took them 4 years to come up with a plot device that could even slow her down (switching places with other people in the galaxy at random). Hopefully they can come up with something good cause I like Emilia Clarke and would like to see her character develop a bit more.
shes prob gonna go full on daenarys and mad with power. but only small parts of a large set of powers. so a teamup of more experienced characters can take her down. shes a jack of all, master of none - and will prob get the whole menu thrown at her while she just has the sample tasters xD
Also,maybe the Ritson we see is a left over Skrull disciple of Gravak's still hell bent on punishing Fury for not finding them a home.

That final battle was awffffffffful. The CGI was atrocious. The series, overall, was a disappointment. The high points were, by far, Kingsley Ben-Adir and Olivia Colman. Man, they absolutely killed it. I think this would have been better as a movie. I really hope we get to see the return of Blade though. I doubt Wesley Snipes can continue to play him, but I loved the character.
Blade is going to be played by Mahershala Ali. He was teased in Moon Knight

i think its his afk mic set and not properly soundstaged. its kinda muffled and doug sounds really off, like he used his phone or a phone mic to record it all in bed instead of on set.
Also, the Super Skrull making machine still exists so we could see more, evil, Super Skrulls out there.
After seeing how everyone just went for everyone they suspected were skrulls gives me hope daredevil & punisher will be the ones to stop them & the skrulls on a street level.
The "one term president" line had me cackling because you can tell they added it in the last second because the writers completely forgot or were unaware Harrison Ford was going to be the president in Brave New World 😂
@@cloudyplacebo7456 Not in the comics, no. They've had bad guys become president before though (Norman Osborn for example) so it's not that wild a proposition. I think this may be the direction the MCU is going since they don't have free and clear access to the Spider-Man characters and can't do it with Norman.
I think it was an intentional shot at a specific one-term president, known for his bigotry, for spreading fear about non-existent threats and having a particular type of shower with Russian prostitutes.

Gravik could have been such a great Thanos level threat. He was really well written and portrayed. I don't think Marvel Studios realised what they had until it was too late.
Fury: the avengers aren’t here because it’s too dangerous if the Skrulls get their powers and the Earth can’t keep being saved by the Avengers. Also Fury: Hands over avengers powers to Skrulls, world ends up being saved by Avengers powers yet again.
You can just tell by Ryan voice he's is so underwhelmed by this series. I was really hoping the last episode would pull it together. What a waste of a series.
