We domesticated wolves, that's what we did
I had a dog I called Irma, she was given to me when she was still a puppy. She was a golden retriever, a nice, well-behaved beautiful dog. Whenever I come home from work in the afternoon, she would be racing to the steel gate and bang herself to tell anybody at home that I am at the gate and someone should open the gate's latch. She would show her glee upon seeing me by running up and down the pathway to my house's door. When my wife comes from work a little later in the afternoon, Irma would bite my wife's hand in a teasing manner. I bathed Irma regularly. I went to Bahrain for a year and when I came home, she was there, wagging her tussled tail and brushing her body with my legs. When it is all quiet, Irma would lie down on my feet. I would run my hands over her body to let her feel that I appreciate her being a part of the family. My 5 yr. old son had a picture embracing Irma, both of them looking at the camera as if to tell me that they go along well. One afternoon, Irma came to me, not in her usual mood and somehow I pushed her a little bit for some reason I don't recall anymore. She lied down again on my feet silently. The following day, I found her dead. I did not know that she was trying to say good-bye to me. Until now, my wife and I talk about Irma from time to time. If I will get a new dog, it will be a golden retriever again.

Dogs are really the best friends of humans. The way they show inconditional love is absolutely amazing. They were the first domestic animals for a reason. Definitely canines show a sense of loyalty that cannot be matched.

I think because humans and dogs needed to work together for survival. Many dogs were trained to help hunt and protect livestock, and in return had a home and meals provided by the owner.

This is not only with owners dude I met my friends dog , as small puppy , played with him for about a month , really cute I met him later after 6 months ,after I came back from college for my summer break , and boy he went beserk on me , he became so hyper !! watching this...it's hard to believe anyone would hurt a dog....Right?? They are angels with fur...so forgiving, so loving, so pure.
I got to experience this recently and I cannot put into words the feeing I had. I was in the hospital for 4 days. It was the first time I’ve been away from my little girl since I rescued her 6 years ago. For 4 days a neighbor was helping out with her but she would not eat. When I finally came home, she went absolutely bonkers like the dogs in this video. She started crying then I started crying lol. The love you get from your dog is priceless.

Dogs are such a natural antidepressant! I remember feeling rather depressed one morning when I was volunteering at the SPCA and working with the cats. Unfortunately, interacting with cats didn’t really improve my mood, but my mood instantly improved after playing with a dog. ☺️💕 I am definitely a cat person, but I believe dogs have more of an ability to make you happy when you are sad.

I'm not in the army or anything, but my parents have a dog and I don't live with them. I hadn't seen her in a year (the the day. I came home on Christmas eve, and that was when I went home and saw her the last time.) I came home for Christmas again and as soon as I walked through the door, my dog came running over to me, jumping on me and licking me. She was just like these dogs. She even ignored her food when my parents fed her, which she NEVER does. Mom and dad even commented on how weird it was that she wasn't eating. She was just so happy to see me. While I was there, she slept in the guest bedroom with me and never left my side. I have another dog who is older and not as hyper-active as my other one, but he was really happy to see me, too. Once my other dog finally started eating, he came over to me and started giving me kisses, which is a very rare thing for him to do. They were both thrilled to have me home and it made me so happy to see them and get all the love from them. I love my dogs so much and it makes me happy that they love me just as much
My dog got me through such a rough period. I had just gone through a bad breakup and made the decision to buy a dog at 5 am after getting blackout drunk with some friends and a few hours later I had one. This dog saved my life, literally. She was there when no one else was (I mean literally, she never leaves me alone and now I'm that weirdo who takes his dog everywhere)
