He’s gonna be like this when I get back from being gone 8 days. Longest he’s ever been away from me.   • this reminds me of the day when I had my 50% black german shepherd sterilized. after a few hours I went to the vet to pick her up, I came in said something and all of a sudden there was this loud whining and crying from the room next door where she was awakening from the anesthesia. She heard my voice and was crying for me. even the vets were surprised at the intensity because she was still veery sleepy before I came in.. such sweet dogs.

    • poodles havea vvery hyper intelligent sense of their selves at one hand they are very capable at learnng a lot more than other dogs but at the saem time they have a realization that tehy control their ability to LEARN and obey - and this presents a conflict. Which is why you must always use positive reinforcement only when your trying to reward the dog - NOT to make yourself feel a certain way about the animal - people don't really see the world through the eyes of a dog - in that dogs eyes it's the alpha for some reason - thats why it "doesn't care" - maybe she just learned that she did not have to and that caring did not make anything good happen so she overadapted a behavior - animals have learning and growing minds just like we do - and they are all built around learning through enforcement - your sweet tooth is dangerous for example because it not only gives you the sense of feeling something good to eat but this applies itself doubly acrosss the dopamine reactions through your processing of the food itself - it makes addiction possible anywhere where dopamine is being given as a reward for a learned behavior that isn't being controlled by the person with the behavior or anyone else for any other reason. It's like a vulnerability - any thing that makes us feel good - is also a potential hazard for our lives. Adrenaline feels good so we seek it out - this produces risk taking behaviors which leed to death - but which also produce mating scenarios which would never occur otherwise through travel. So in that respect Dopamine should be monitored in everyone - anything that feels out of control but also GOOD as fuck is a red flag ! imo that r

  • The German shepherd is one of the most affectionate, loyal dogs there is as I had one years ago and "Shep" was the best. Every night when I'd come home (3-4am) worked nights I'd walk in, he'd come out and greet me, ears pinned back tail wagging gently to say hi and give me a little kiss, he woke up to greet me his nose was dry as he was sleeping. After a minute he'd go back to sleep. He was a great dog and I miss him.
