UKOPRA Cowes-Torquay-Cowes Powerboat Race 2023 [plus behind the scenes]

Cowes on the 27th August 2023 - getting amongst the powerboat fleet of the Cowes-Torquay-Cowes [class 1 boats] & Cowes-Poole-Cowes [class 2 & 3 boats] as they leave Cowes Yacht Haven and head out to the muster area.
See the boats streak past us on both sides as we drive down the centre of the western Solent course.
After the race we visit the pits, prize giving and give you an Anybody Everybody view of the people who drive and navigate these incredible machines.

Thank you for the comment Nigel. I've still got the footage from Round 6 - Southampton to put together yet! Yes, we'll be making more videos next year. It's hard not to love filming those beautiful boats being driven hard.

It was hilarious Mark - we both got close to each other LOL. I was going left and Dorian was going right.
Last time I did CPC - so many spectator boats got in the way especially around Bournemouth Pier/turn Marque @@AttitudeCharter
Yes, was an issue this year with racing boats going in and around spectator boats. But you can't have interest in the sport and total separation of boats out there unless you do what they've done at the Bmth Air Show - totally overreact by pushing spectators so far back it ruins the spectacle completely.

Where you can hear engines in our footage Raymond, you can hear engines in the video. Where there is horrible wind noise in our footage, you can hear some tunes instead, wind noise is annoying. There are no wicked engine sounds wasted in this video, we can promise you that. We drop the level of the music in places so you can hear engines. Sorry you don't like dance music. We're going to get a better camera in the interests of reducing wind noise as we only want boat engine sounds. Please subscribe to see the race that followed this one [UKOPRA round 6] coming soon.
