Bringing a R107 Mercedes 560SL back to LIFE! Deep DETAILING & Dry Ice Cleaning
You know we have a bit of a thing for restoring Mercedes 560SL, specifically the R107. This 560SL hardtop came in to be brought back to life and that's exactly what it got! This thing got the works! We started with a full dry ice cleaning of the undercarriage, engine detailing, and wheel wells, moved on to a car wash, which it was in desperate need of. Then it was time to get to work!
We performed a full paint correction, including color sanding and two step polishing. We then moved on to the interior, cleaning the leather, polishing the interior wood grain, and deep cleaning the steering wheels and carpets. We got to work on the hard top, and finished with a full ceramic coating!
Safe to say there was no stone left unturned here!
Is this the best R107 Mercedes Benz 560SL we've done yet? Tell us what Mercedes we should do next in the comments.

@@IAMDetailing but of course…
😂
And $10,000 later, we have another masterpiece. Smile. Great work like this can’t be cheap. Amazing 🔥🔥🔥
Worth every penny they said :)
Is it such expensive😮
You guys are more than a dealing shop. You guys are a restoration shop. The work you do is second to none.
Thanks so much Albert! We love to hear it and it means a ton to us
indeed they are
You did a sick good job on the car, restored it to its factory appearance. And better than factory ones.
Cant believe they did all of that in just over 20 minutes. just amazing
What an incredible technology... it's worth for money sending our car for such an excellent cleaning service... Fantastic Job👍
Such high quality work. The end results are always so perfect.
Thank you buddy!!
That’s a gorgeous car! I have a ‘72 350sl but it doesn’t look like that! Wow! It’s so fun to watch the genius at work! That trick with the wire was awesome!!
Great job
MY BEST FRIEND'S MOTHER HAD THIS CAR. IT WAS GREAT FUN TO BORROW IT & DRIVE WITH THE TOP DOWN ON A FINE DAY. WE WERE TEENAGERS. WE WERE YOUNG.
Обожаю смотреть ваши работы. Жду ну когда , когда новое видео. 😊. Парни вы лучшие. Уважение вам☝️😎.
What a great video. Such painstaking attention to detail and care. You can tell that the craftsmen who do the work are truly experts in their craft. So relaxing and satisfying watching this video. I would love to have a list of the cleaning/polishing products you use. Thanks for sharing. I really enjoyed watching this, particularly like the before and after shots.
This is satisfying on so many levels.
Super Video Thank you Happy Weekend for you 🥰😍😚👍👌🤟💗💕❤️💞
I love so much that dry ice section 🤩
Im stoked i left it at the front!
Love the J.R. Ewing Mercedes.
Nailed it! 🔨👊🏻😎 Attention to detail every time.
Thanks buddy! We've got a couple great videos coming up
@@IAMDetailing looking forward to it, buddy.
@@IAMDetailing Klucí šikouný! A kde jste se tam, tak daleko, vyloupli?
Your service gives a survivor car the look of a rotisserie restoration, great results.
I saw the sanders come out and I'm now rooting for this car's second life.
game recognize game
You should do a ‘79 RR Silver Shadow II next, they’re gorgeous when they are all blinged up and there is plenty paint thickness to work with.
Love the job! Specially in those cars that aren't in the best conditions. You give a new life them.
We always get a little choked up when they head home and the owner is so happy to see it transformed
Have to see this video, to believe it. What a transformation. As always - amazing work.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the video and appreciate your support.
What is the giant blue buffing pad you use on the rotary? You should link your products in the description and get a cut of when people buy it. Fantastic work as always. For the people shocked by the price, they have no idea how many hours these take, and the investment in the shop and equipment. I color sanded an Alfa spider, which is smaller than this 560, and it took about 60 hours to fully sand, polish and ceramic coat.
Love that ride. Great job!
Great job. I’ll admit I was surprised when I saw the sanding disc come out. However, the results look incredible.
Victor is so confident with the sander, it's wild! He's a magician with it
Did he hit it with 3000 after the 2000?
@@jonnyjonnyyespapa8013 i think i saw just the micro fibre on a rotary
Wow that´s a huge difference before and after detailing. Great Work.
Outstanding work 👏👏👏👏👏
16:56 Wood grain looks like an sad alien
This is deja-vu all over again no with this R107 in Burgundy Wine color? Let's have a glass compadres, it's Friday! 🏁🏁🏁
Imagine how much work it was to make sure I was grabbing the RIGHT car!
@@IAMDetailing My first thought exactly Ev! Had to go back to the previous episode to check myself let alone the garage 😉
Incredible work!
Everyone I hang out with was saying I Am Detailing didn't know how to use a rotary polisher but they busted out that 849X (and left the Makita crying on the shelf) and showed the nay sayers who's boss.
🤣🫡 That's the kind of support we need!!
Gorgeous work 😍
Best detailing I have seen online-your attention to detail is awesome. Only Q: Why not put on ceramic before adding back badging, trim, etc. ??
I wish the one would come back
Great work! Best of luck to you guys!
Very nice work. Spectacular in the details. I would like to know what happened to the radio
Absolutely superb work
Wow.super😊
Looks amazing. What do you do use on the chrome bumpers?
Why do you remove the Dinitrol treatment of the chassi for rustprotection, it looks as black tar?
Fantastic
Amazing
I remember when the Benz dealership were selling these brand new for $25K.
beautiful as always! How much of your work comes from dealers vs owners?
probably 60/40 dealers vs owners, but I'd need to confirm with Jakub for sure
Another amazing job! How long does this typically take and whats the average cost of a detail like this?
I just picked up an R107 cactus green for too cheap only 12000 usd and I love it
Great job! What year is this one?
Who puts Walmart brand tires on a Mercedes?!? beautiful job!
😵💫
😂I think even the wheels should be switched all together
what is the product used on cleaning the wheels?
this is the second time seing this color on one of these on your channel in a month&1/2 what is this called?
it looks pinkishburgundy to me what do you pros see when you look at it?
I live in Virginia and I have a 1987 560 SL that is in need of this. Do you recommend anyone in the East Coast?
What year is that 🚗
Is it just me, or is that orbital sander bogging down and not spinning against the paint?
That's because of the shutter speed of the camera! When you have a similar rotation speed to the shutter speed, it will look like the object isnt moving
How much is the cost of this car detailing?
What's the purpose of using that paint thickness measurement tool?
Usually to help make sure you’re not removing any paint when trying to revive it
Actually, to see how much clear and paint you have to play with during the correction phase, it will give you an indication of how hard you can go during the correction phase@@ProfessionalDriver101
how many days did it take you tocomplete this job?
21 minutes. Have you not watched till the end. 👌
Hele jak tam brousíte, točí se to nebo ne? :) to vypadá jak kdyby se mu to netocilo a jen to kmitalo
That is a gorgeous car. That Mercedes has always been my favorite body style. From the late '70s all the way through the '80s and into the '90s. It is just a gorgeous looking car. Sex on wheels. You did a beautiful job.
it's better not to ice clean underneeth the car. The layer dirt is also protection for this old car
why dry ice the underside? you are just removing the cosmoline coating the factory sprayed to prevent rust and corrosion, for what? seems completely counter productive.
Exactly. It's not only pointless but also harmful exposing the metal
Agree, but I seriously doubt that’s going to be someone’s daily driver.
You must reseal the underside with wax oil after a dry ice clean.
Haha, we restore those car to concourse quality. In this video you caused so much damage to that car. Please do not every touch another one of those cars. You completely took of all the factory undercoating off! Holy crap how do you not know you were wrecking that car. Might as well have used a sandblaster! This video is just sad how these amateurs are clueless!
I understand your point but you should know over time that protectant breaks down and can become sticky attracting contaminants and itself is counterproductive. So removing it is a good thing, however to your point needs to be reprotected with a more modern water based product. That care is a masterpiece and will be picked up by a collector for sure.
Richard Gere cars on pretty woman movies😂
you know it!
Such a pity for those horrible USA bumpers
Your detailing cost more than my car is worth. 🤔🤨
Correction, your detailing more doubled the value of my car!
In the uk that car would be rotten as a pear!
Not if it was garage kept and well maintained. You can’t take all responsibility from the owner and just say the car is bad, that’s not quite how it works.
Those hideous bumpers are the best way to ruin the elegant line of that car. What a shame.
toll
I think its just so stupid to take the factory wax rust proofing of and take years of its life This will all rust now
Horrible american bumpers on beauty european cars
😭🥺
The music is beyond cringeworthy.
Totally ruined by “ American “ bumpers .
That is one sexy car
