  • I run a cat 980 and 982. Just got a new john deere 844l. 982 and 844 are both joysticks controls. I thought i would hate it. But i love it. I have too stay in a loader for 12 hr shifts. I work at a big sand mine. Our mine goes way back inside the hill. Under the main highway. Only lights u got are on the loader and big haul trucks. No daylight radios dont work. Because u are under ground that far. We run bigger buckets than factory. That bucket on the 924 looks small.

    @ozark_trapper@ozark_trapper4 ай бұрын
    • Wow that sounds really cool working in there. No radio and 12 hours gotta be tough ! Always wanted to try a bigger loader

      @Getsoil@Getsoil4 ай бұрын
    • @Getsoil i run my blue tooth. Phones won't work underground. I like a cat loader better. Only think sucks about it. U can't get out of the loader. Like other people do. Have to feed a hopper. For 20 minutes, then the line is down for 10 minutes. The john deere burns from 80 to 110 gallons fuel in 12 hrs. Cat doesn't burn that much. I sure like the joystick steering. I like the quick attached bucket set up that you run.

      @ozark_trapper@ozark_trapper4 ай бұрын
    • @ozark_trapper man it’s so frustrating sometimes when you can’t get out. Especially if you have to go to the bathroom. I’m stuck when it’s busy . Sometimes I load a hopper with soil but for the most part I load customers with product. We have 40 different materials so that keeps things interesting. Are you loading in the dark all year around ? Would be tough not seeing the sun

      @Getsoil@Getsoil4 ай бұрын
    • @Getsoil no we blast on the surface too. When the line shuts off. Sometimes, there are haul trucks to load. We run big haul trucks. I work at the crusher a lot. It dont shut off in 12 hrs. Fill it up, and u have time to eat. Or goto the bathroom. I like the controls on your cat.
