Lyrics:
I’ve lost track
Of times i looked back
A happy face, a better place, without disgrace
I try to think of when it was
What set it off, was it because
I aimed too high, had too much greed
I reached for things, I didn’t need
So be careful what you wish for, my friend
Kingdoms often fall in the end
Heed the words of those who are wise
And with some luck your kingdom may rise
I don’t know when
We’ll meet again
The future’s blind, your fate and mine, intertwined
A life as king, a step too far
I burned too bright, a shooting star
I paid the price, I failed the test
For what it’s worth, I tried my best
So be careful what you wish for, my friend
Kingdoms often fall in the end
Heed the words of those who are wise
And with some luck your kingdom may rise
I’ve made mistakes
And suffered heartaches
But through it all
The rise and fall
A life well lived, that’s what i’d say
Wish i could fight just one more day
But i know i haven’t won
When all is said and all is done
In spite of all the pain it brings
I wouldn’t change a single thing
So be careful what you wish for, my friend
Kingdoms often fall in the end
Heed the words of those who are wise
And with some luck your kingdom may rise

  • I love how human the king feels. I feel like a lot of characters tend to be a bit too full of themselves, as if they know everything will work out, but he always seems unsure or even scared, which just feels a lot more natural.

    • Remember, in Fallen Kingdom, he grabs his helmet and sword to fight, but knows he's going to be overwhelmed and ran. He didn't run because he didn't want to fight, it's the fact that the monsters killed everyone else, showing how powerful they were at the time

    • He's a logical thinker, he knows when to pick his fights and when not to. He knows what his capable of, creating an entire kingdom less one forgets, and that's not something someone can achieve without being smart. So yeah, King is an absolute chad.

  • I think this song is quite literally the Kings Words and an after-thought for the whole series. He’s explaining in the start he’s “lost track of times looked back” and “What set it off, was it because I aimed too high, had too much greed.” He’s explaining he didn’t need the staff and that is what caused the fallen kingdom. “Heed the words of those who are wise, and with some luck your kingdom may rise” he’s talking to us. He failed with his kingdom, learnt from the past and is now “wise” and is telling us to follow his advice for a successful kingdom” “I don’t know when, we’ll meet again” I think he’s talking about his wife and son here. Wondering when his time will come to meet them again in the afterlife. “I made mistakes and suffered heartaches but through it all, the rise and fall” quite literally a quote for the series in how it was built and fell. Brilliant Song!

  • *THIS IS THE PREQUEL TO FALLEN KINGDOM!!!!!!!!!!!!* A lot of people thought this was after Dragonhearted so I wanted to clarify. He says in the description that this is the prequel and the king obviously looks younger. Herobrines castle isn’t collapsed in the video and Kings son destroyed it in Take Back The Night. Also as you see at the end, the kingdom is obviously a LOT younger, probably just having been built.

      @anonymouss1270@anonymouss1270 Жыл бұрын
    • @@anonymouss1270 Also at the end, you can see where the King lives is just a small, little lodge. Herobrine then watches him stealing his staff. That's how "Fallen Kingdom" comes to play where Herobrine wants vengeance over his staff. The king knows that this will happen, so he seals the staff in the End and deactivates the end portal to prevent him from obtaining it.

      @WantBadtime@WantBadtime Жыл бұрын
    • @@WantBadtime One hole in that theory - The King almost immediately deactivates the portal upon reaching it during the raid, as seen in the beginning of Find the Pieces. Additonally, the hero is seen carrying the chest with the staff into the End Portal during Dragonhearted. There is a reasonable chance that The King was solely protecting the Dragon from Herobrine's wrath, and had the staff hidden elsewhere. There is of course a time gap where the chest may have been retrieved from the end in the interim, but I'd theorize that the King would not want to take any unnecessary risks such as opening the portal Herobrine wanted so desperately through and leaving it unguarded. There's also the simple fact that he'd have no way of returning while the Dragon lived.

Lastly, we see the King again morning his son and wife on the hill, and we return to the same words of warning issued from the start, realizing that it is the King of the future warning his past self of the pain to come. When I feel too tired at the middle of the night when studying, or when I feel discouraged, I would review this video, as the protagnist just carried throught all those difficulities with intellect and hard work(past training). Now I have passed tofel and gre with extremely high scores, finished all the course with most of them 4.0, finished my research and will publish paper next year, and also got a big company's internship after posting nearly 100 cvs and several interviews.

  • I guess it may be weird to say that this song makes me tear up a bit, but then again, I don't think it's really all that strange. Here we have the King before he became a king, risking his life just to get that staff because he wants to protect the kingdom he's currently building. While the song sounds like an almost requiem, it's like the King's thoughts or even his advice to someone we don't know, after the events of the rest of the Fallen Kingdom series. The part that gets me every time is the bridge, when he throws away every fear he has, fighting against the Warden pinning him against the wall and just running, running and never looking back even when the two Wardens continue to attack him, when he could die at almost any second, as the song builds to a crescendo and the lyrics become "in spite of all the pain it brings, I wouldn't change a single thing" It takes a lot of guts to say that. A lot of thinking. He's lost so much, his wife and his kid, his people, and this music video shows how much he's fought to have all of that, but in the end, he has his kingdom again, and it's all because of the Prince, the child he had with his wife. That's just my personal take on it. This is my favorite song from the series, hands down. The music video is masterfully animated too. That scene where he runs towards the staff will stick with me for a really long time.

    @hydroawesome4670@hydroawesome467024 күн бұрын
    • The lyrics are future King warning past King about his actions I believe. (It's also at the same time breaking the 4th wall and warning us about our own "kingdoms" in real life. I think Jordan released this after he's grown himself in the 6 years. He's made a lot of decisions that led to pain, but knows he's had so many wonderful experiences that he "wouldn't change a thing.") He also says he was "too greedy" meaning he maybe realized he didn't need Herobrine's staff to rule/be happy. But also follows it up with "I wouldn't change a thing," indicating he was happy to have a kingdom, wife, and son, despite losing it all in the end. It's an interesting song as it shows the young king working so hard with his ambition (and greed) while being opposed with the lyrics of future king dealing with the loss of everything he worked so hard for. It is the most well-crafted masterpiece of the series.

  • Man it’s great seeing this series back. You legit gave me motivation to play Minecraft again. I remember originally only knowing „Take back the night“ And that’s a long time ago where I watched it. I didn’t know it had a song before and two more back then. The animation is even better than in the fourth one and I respect that you still do that after many have stopped doing Minecraft music videos.

  • A common trait I see with minecraft animation fight scenes is they make the player we follow overpowered, defeating all their enemies with ease. This video illustrates the king having trouble fighting these tough opponents but still managing to overcome them. Beautiful animation

Throughout the video, he does get hurt from it, from cradling his arm at the end of the lava room to a slight limp away from the bookshelf before the first warden does its chest attack thing. That's another thing I like about this video, is they made the warden look so much cooler than the game did.
