I got to meet Beo at one of the shows and she is such a joy to talk to. As a "girl dad" seeing her talking to young children and engaging with them was heartwarming. She's a class act and a great representative of our fighting men and women. The airframe, beyond impressive. Still not in my personal top 5 favorites, but I's give my right arm to fly it. Being 61, I have seen a lot of airshows in my days. Blue Angles in F4's should tell you I have seen my share. I'm looking forward to seeing the F35 again this summer and CCAS at KMHR. Sam, awesome video as usual. You do great work that is fun to watch, full of valuable information and we can all tell you have a genuine love for what you do. • Sam this was EPIC! Then again, I've probably said that on the last 50+ vids you've made because each one is always better than the last. The whole production level rivals NatGeo, but it's your enthusiasm and Sam-eye perspective, that adds the secret sauce. Clearly the F-35 technology, weapons possibilities and overall performance are impressive. But....I'm lining up over behind the 'all in A-10'. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrt - tech that! 😎

  • For your own information helmet mounted displays aren't necessarily a new thing they are used in f-18 super hornets, f-22s, f-16s, and even A-10s. The f35 just takes it one step further with the ability to look through the aircraft.

    • @@PrograError I believe I watched some documentary about that, and they did do some kind of combat simulator with the HUD on. But from what I remember, the problems are 1. Weight, it's just heavy to have a 2+ kg helmet on your head all day, along with batteries etc, 2. Battery. Can't always charge your batteries in a warzone, and those helmets sure use a lot of power. 3. Not *that* useful. Most of the information that the HUD displays for infantry is stuff that could easily just be displayed on a phone or something similar (which I do think they, or some infantry, have already), like the location of friendly infantry or armour, potential hostiles, points of interest etc.

  • The pilot makes flying look easy, I’ve seen this jet in person as well. It’s better to leave the head phones off :), unless you’re on a flight deck with an f35 b or c, the Pratt and Whitney engine is gloriously loud. The beauty of the jet is hard to display at an air show like it’s stealth, situational awareness, data sharing, and everything else that makes it a real potent aircraft.
