Never Forget Vince Carter's BEST Season! 28ppg 6rpg 5apg In 2005 | GOAT SZN
The best Vince Carter 2004-2005 season highlights with the New Jersey Nets! Once the Raptors traded VC to New Jersey, he went crazy: 28ppg 6rb 5ast 46%FGS 43%3PT and leading the Nets from the bottom of the east to the Playoffs. The Nets were playing without Richard Jefferson for most of the season, so VC had to carry the whole load of the team, with the offense running through him. Most NBA Media Outlets and personalities omit the New Jersey chapter of VC's career, but for those of us who watched him from 2005-2009, we all know that New Jersey VC was the BEST VC.

healthy Penny and Grant Hill high likely would be in the same phrase, even though they clearly were more team first oriented players and a bit less natural when it comes to wide range.
Add melo to this
He was really one of the most complete offensive players of all-time.
Vince Carter holds the record for the longest NBA career, having played 22 seasons in the league.
Yessir Dawg
Lebron And still counting he’s at his 21st szn on to 22 +
Pretty wild since he's a dunker/athletic player

Look how every single shot, players are boxing out and vying for the rebound. What a time to be a fan. Now it’s just a 3-pt shooting contest and players are just laughing to the bank.
You just don't see guys move with this much swag, confidence and finesse to their game anymore the way Vinsanity used to on a nightly basis. The cherry on top was that he was so fundamentally sound as well. Such a awesome player at his peak, his game would've been so much fun to watch in today's era, especially given the spacing and the league's desire for another Alpha to represent what basketball is at it's most enjoyable. What a player.
2000 gotta be the peak NBA. Every SG stars are baby Jordans lol

Cuz he jumps high? There’s a lot of palyer in nba history who jumped high😂
The modern NBA today is so garbage and not fun to watch anymore compared to then.
MaxaMillion is going back to his roots 🔥
his jump shot is beautiful!!!
No way you put timestamps bro 😭 you deserve 20 million views
Nets VC is the true Prime VC.. Toronto Vince is more athletic, but Nets VC is more polished with some more athletic ability
If you ask me prime Vince is the first decade of his career. Good player.
as a raptors fan ... i totally agree. something about nj carter .... he was a true definition of a SWING MAN! GODDAMN!!
One of my favorite players and shooting guards. Underappreciated in many ways. Greatest dunker but also a great shooter as well. I wish he had more playoff success. Too talented in his prime
I remember getting nba live 04 with him on the cover. Dude was one of the coldest of all time!
That thumbnail was from the game against the Knicks and was the only time Vince wore the gray alternates as a Net. 🔥🔥🔥
How him and kidd couldn't make 1 finals together in that weak east still blows my mind till this day
The heat and Pistons were the only powerhouses at the time lol
Have you seen their shitty bench?
Loss to bum Cavs
Pistons,Heat,Bron Cavs, then by time they got old Celtics.
This team dont have bench and God Number 4 and 5 , they are incomplete 4 compete to Title....
The best dunker of all time 🔥🔥🔥
Yes He is
One of the best shooters of all time too.
no... Top 5, not the best.
@@tonye.5410 Tell me your top 5
On the basis of what he showed the world during his time at the Raptors and Nets, he must be considerd as one of the most spectaculair players ever. Apart from treating every game like it was the Dunk Contest this guy was just the complete package.
Everyone knows Vince as an amazing dunker, but he is also a very versatile 3-point shooter
I’ve been telling people that Nets VC was PRIME VC! I’m a Knicks fan from Brooklyn but I moved to Jersey as a teen. And since the Knicks were garbage at the time I would often watch Nets games(and cuz Vince is one of my favorite players). When Vince got traded to NJ he was 27 and he may have been a lil less athletic and a lil less explosive than his Toronto version but this version of Vince was way more polished of a player. He still had enough athleticism and first step but he became a better shooter and passer as a Net and just an overall smarter player. Those first 2-3 years with the Nets were him at his peak. All they needed was a good low post scorer and they could have won a championship. They had the best wing/backcourt combo in the league with Kidd as the point and Vince and RJ on the wings. If you put that team in the league today they’d be a terror!
I think 2005 Vince carter is the best version of him. What I dont understand is why he was so underrated
Media backlash mainly. Especially north of the border
@@SuperHiFiGaming Im from Toronto although ppl from toronto disliked what about the rest of fans? Was Toronto such a big market at that time to sway public opinon on vince?
@@ManniLive no it wasn’t a big market but when you say you’re gonna stop dunking in the media public, it could rub the fans the wrong way
@SaintFrenchy and dunk immediately the next game right? Did you forget that part?
@ManniLive I think public perception was affected by all the hit pieces, so outlets didn't wanna touch it until he got a chance at a redemption arc in Orlando
Carter and Kidd should have had at least 1 finals appearance
Their era was dominated by big men. If you didn’t have good big men you weren’t winning for the most part. Not like today.

Vince is quite literally one of the biggest wasted talented lmao. He wouldn’t do anything more than he did back then quit yapping
@@ballsballsballs3617you don’t think one of the best 3 pt shooters will do better in a league that revolves around the 3? Great IQ
@@JuanHenny he like averaged 36% on 5 attempts a game😂😂Lebron and Luka literally shoot better than that lmao. He was good for his era cuz he was one of the few guys that actually shot 3s, that doesn’t necessarily make him good at it relative to now. HEY, GREAT IQ THO!!
@@ballsballsballs3617he would be more open in todays league genius
@@Alex-wz9ze 3pt shooting is not an effect or spacing… spacing is an effect of 3pt shooting. Spacing benefits slashers, so no his 3pt percentage would not be much better in an era that shoots them at a higher volume and good 3pt shooters r almost smothered right after crossing half court. Vince played most of his career in the early-mid 2000s where they didn’t even really guard guys at the 3pt line at all yet u think he’d be way better in this era? He would be an average 3pt shooter off the dribble
Hall of Fame he must go
One of the most athletically gifted humans to ever play in the NBA. Makes everything look effortless. Might not have had the best career record but certainly one of the most entertaining and talented players I’ve watched.
half man half amazing had so many skills. iykyk
So many crazy highlights that I’ve never seen and I’ve been watching VC on KZhead for years… you’re the best max ❤
As such a big fan I am on Vince Carter, I can truly say you are the GOAT when it comes to putting his work out there with great quality and production. Love that Vince himself acknowledges and appreciates you, because you deserve it. I've been watching for YEARS now. Keep it going 💯
Vince Carter, Jason Kidd, and Richard Jefferson. That was a very underrated trio! Should have won at least one ring.
I love this series!! Please understand that people like myself don’t take this for granted!!!!
This intro is fire! The best I’ve seen from this channel so far. 🔥🔥
To quote Eddie Murphy- "Now that's a fire"!
As a Nets fan I miss this version of the team so much.
If we had this version of the Nets in Brooklyn. It would have been amazing!
Insane production quality you the goat

Yo, thanks for finally dropping this one you the 🐐 . I know a lot of us have asked for it since that 00-01 Vince tape you made 🔥……still waiting on 06-07 Melo 😏
Nets VC is prime VC. Still super athletic, night-in night-out highlight reels after highlight reels, crazy dunks, acrobatic layups, best alley-oop connection duo of all time with Jason Kidd, super clutch, an offensive prowess, you name it. I wish that Nets team won a chip or made it to the Finals. They have to retire his jersey in Toronto or Brooklyn.
100% correct. The 06 and 07 Nets were good enough to win a first round series, but needed more pieces to make the next step. having VC as your only offensive option isn't enough. Needed more firepower. Needed more big men and a better defense.
That 360 Lay Up!! 😮 The most exciting and explosive in the history of NBA.
The mature era of basketball !
These types of videos are you at your best
Everybody only remembers VC for his dunks, but few remember how good of a shooter and passer VC was❤
You love you some vince......
If only if Vince Carter had da mentality Kobe did he would’ve been top 5 of all time there was literally nothing Vince Carter couldn’t do he just didn’t set his mind to be da best 💯he was just content on his nickname being half man half amazing when in reality he should’ve been Micheal Jordan with a consistent 3 pointer he is da biggest underachiever ever because he had so much god gifted talent 💯
Another Vince-sane highlight
Closest thing to Jordan, no disrespect to Kobe
Athletically, not by style of play though #RIPBean
I wish he and Tracy McGrady stayed in Toronto
Most talented player of his generation. Only if he played for a true contender.
Nets vc was the best vc
Vince N New Jersey was 🔥, but Toronto VINSANITY, WAS UNSTOPPABLE
Incredible as a star AND later as a role player
The playoff series in 2000 between the sixers and raptors was a thing of beauty
Beautiful jumper he would’ve been a menace in todays nba
“Did you see VEE CEE!!!” Epic games at the Meadowlands that year. Straight hooper. Dude can get hot especially, coming down court & pulling up those momentum treys.

Newer fans only know Vince for his dunks but not his prime years when he was a deadly shooter back in the day and shoot way beyond the arc way before Steph Curry
9:38 .... who remembers this ??!!!! This was an ALLTIME NBA COUNTDOWN HIGHLIGHT!! GODDAMN!!!
Vince was unstoppable he was was the only person in his own way. He couldve averaged 35 a game easily
1/2 Man *1/2 AMAZING* Vinsanity
Such an underrated pretty jumper he had

Seeing a young Richard Jefferson just made me realize he has played with a TON of top tier talent in his career.

That NJ Nets alternate gray jersey was fire❤
Crazy VC only wore it once
In lil waynes voice "tha carterrr"
I think this was the most fun Kidd had! Just throwing lobs all over the place 😂
Vince Carter imo does the coldest drops b/c yeah because he's Vince Carter
I definitely appreciate his talent and longevity, but the infamous way Vince Carter quit on the Raptors took a lot of the shine off his game. Those Kidd-led Nets teams never clicked like Nash's Suns, and really only had success by default, because the East was historically weak (and the West loaded) in that era.
The oohs and ahhs from the crowd say it all
FULL windmill on VERT 12:23🔥🔥🔥🔥
Best dunker in the game hands down
He was playing with one of the top five Greatest PG in NBA history-Jason Kidd. That's why he was playing like this...
Next Brandon Roy 2009- 2010 season highlights
it's a crime that he didn't get listed into the NBA 75 list back in 2021... Including McGrady, Tony Parker, and Dwight Howard.
Agreed. If Melo, Dame, Reggie, Dominique get it without having playoff success. Why not VC?
Put Vince on the Lakers with Shaq or spurs with Duncan the outcome would be very different
🔈VC 3rrrreeeeeeee
If Nets had a decent center they could have won a championship during this time but they had Jason Collins who was TERRIBLE.

半人半神
Next to Carmelo Anthony’s jump shot, damn, VC’s jump is right there.. So gorgeous. I honestly don’t know who else in the league has a jump shot as beautiful as these guys. Sorry, personal opinion. Kobe is right there too. But VC just seems so laid back with his shot.. Clearly shows that he could’ve been a top 10 player if he put more effort.. You know?.. Fav players in order… 1) Carmelo Anthony 2) Vince Carter 3) Kobe Bryant 4) Stephen Curry 5) Lebron James. Sorry, I’m a 30yrs old. Never seen MJ in his prime so I can’t say.. This is my personal choice of players that had that “AW” factor to me.
I wish he won championships, but I think he did enough
Screw the analytics. I love those mid-range J's
honestly I've always thought that VC for a brief stint, like 2002-04, leaving aside some injuries he had, didn't play the level he could. Essentially cause he wanted to be traded.
This is incorrect. VC has 22 years … I’ll say it again: twenty two years! Of showing what kind of player he is. He loves the game and always wants to play. The narrative that he “doesn’t want it” was made up by the media and disgruntled / jealous players. And don’t discount his injuries. They were major injuries. February 02 VC has a nasty knee injury. Rushed back to help his team. Injured it more. Shut down for the season. Rehabbed. Beginning of 03 season he injured it again. Out for a while. Was ridiculed by the media. His own fan base made fun of him for being “soft”. Came back, showed flashes. Injured his ankle. Rehabbed again. 04 he was mostly healthy. Had a couple of injuries. But for the most part he was out there but his team was trash. Some nights he was the ONLY player to score in double figures on his team. So the summer of 04, after the GM wasted their draft pick on a garbage player, he demanded a trade. He has a handful of good games in Nov and Dec 04. But the management was sick of VC. They took away his mom’s parking pass for home games. The media was roasting him nightly. And some nights he was benched the 4th quarter. Finally he was traded and got back to just hooping and for the first time in his career he had an all star caliber player alongside him in Kidd. And look what happened, he immediately had his best individual season. Those 2 years of injuries robbed VC of his athletic prime.
Bro was MJ for a few seasons
After his dunk contest season and final buzzer missed jumper there was no new narrative for VC besided the one that he never gonna reach the insane hype around him again.
The NBA medias narrative post 2001 was 1) hes only a dunker 2) he should be compared to Kobe and Jordan and if he doesn’t live up to them, hes trash 3) he shouldn’t take jumpers 4) he’s always injured
His true year of his prime .. VC peak early and injuries didn't help him later on
Those are Kobe’s mvp numbers 🤯
