"I jumped in the air and wherever the ball goes I'll figure it out" ...hangtime
Its amazing the adjustments he would make in the air on some of these dunks. Hangtime indeed. Which is why many other players...even the good dunkers of today have a hard time doing what VC did. A lot can happen if youre in the air long enough.
Kenny 92 mad hang time brother
Lmfao
One can say that the phrase “on-the-fly” was actually inspired by VC
not to mention J Kidd was passing it. he knew damn well it was gonna be on point lol
Top 10 is not enough for him
Playboizayy damn straight, he like Dominique he’s got highlights for days!
dude has about 200 sick in-game dunks in his career lol
Top 100 including Olympics
Should do top 99 , Vince!
Playboizayy II
That last dunk on Mourning is gravity defying, if you look closely, Vince jump first, he was about a foot higher, floated in the air, waited for Mourning to start going down, then slammed it on top of his head, literally. What a beast.
he knocked out 3 of mourning teeth with his elbow, while flashy it was an offensive foul, watch it again
he bounced off him and gained height
That Was 1 HeLL Offa Meat-Head Dunk ALLrite💯👌🏾
Lmao all this time most fans thought "damn this dude must practice a lot" then here he is, short of saying "i dunno what was happening, i just ended up dunking away anyway"
but it's all that practice that allows him to improvise so masterfully in the moment
Greatest NBA dunker of all time
NallePu83 súper agree
OMG! 360 like just like the dunk in the dunk contest
NallePu83 hell yeah
NallePu83 no doubt baby
By far! Loved watching him play, just wish I got to see him live.
"I jumped in the air and wherever the ball goes I'll figure it out.." Gravity : Am i a joke to you?
No such thing as gravity. Mr.carter knew density only exist...
Best comment
Imagine being able to jump high enough to have time to ponder a thought like that. GOAT.
Ball to gravity: hold my beer
Vegard, Thank you. I laughed So hard!!😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
He’s the greatest “athlete“ in NBA history, not only because of the dunks, but also because of his longevity. They need to build a statue of him in Toronto for influencing a whole generation of hoopers.
No chance. He did the city terribly.
@@DuggsTube lmao he tried man, he tried!!
@@DuggsTube what? So not true
Jordan was a better athlete because he was quicker. Vince was a great leaper but not very agile compared to Jordan.
@@earlem9771 He played like shit purposely to force his way out of the city. He pulled a Ben Simmons on us.
I loved this era of basketball. Very late 90’s/early 2000’s was so exciting to watch. VC was my idol. I’d try to dunk like him on an 8.5foot hoop lol but never could quite do it like Vince. Him, AI, Pierce, Ray Allen, Dirk, Kobe and many, many more were so fun to watch. My Celtics used to break my heart annually back then 🤣.
Shit, it was tough for us Celtics fans that time, poor pierce carrying our sorry team all by himself.
As a Pistons fan I almost feel sorry you guys had Antoine Walker chucking up brick after brick back the. "Almost" being the key word
@@jona.scholt4362 yeah bro. I hated him when he was off. He was fun af to watch though. Your pistons had an ill squad back then too.
Bro try being a Bulls fan in the late 90's early 00's. Those teams had half of Chicago on suicide watch
@@kylein9869 Yeah, totally! They had Jordan's greatness since the 80's and a dynasty throughout the 90's. Imagine telling those same fans in 1998 that their team was going to suck for half a decade and not reach even the ECF until 13 years later.

His teammates couldn't help but mourn him.
Jaspion CCV was that a pun
Why ya'll didn't help me is crazy 😂
A GREAT man. Not just a great drunker. Not only a great scorer & great bball player, but truly a great human being. Thanks for all the great memories, Vince!

He is such a mild mannered humble sounding dude...
That's what I thought, seems like a great bloke
@@smplfy this was done before he retired
@@smplfy if they probably asked him to make this video, what is he gonna do? turn them down? that doesn’t sound very humble nor kind
He made some mistakes in his career but Vince really turned his whole mentality around and changed who he was as a person. I really admire that, not many are capable of it.
@@ImBarryScottCSS what kinda mistakes?
He’s the greatest dunker, no dispute and one of the most complete players to play basketball!
Hes so humble, sounding like these things kinda magically happened to him. When in reality I dont want to even think of how many reps he must have done in a gym, how much hard work went into doing what he did. I just want to give props. I still have his jersey in my closet, that I bought when I was 12. (I'm from germany, back then those were not easy to get your hands on here in Europe). The impact these guys had on the world is just remarkable to look back at now.
He's so athletic that sometimes his dunks were the result of that athleticism & his creativity. You simply can't practice most of his in-game dunks seen here because you can't predict how the defender is going to react to you.
Humble? No such thing as Humility in today's NBA other than the foreign players. A humble American athlete is rare, almost extinct.
He was great. I'm so glad I got to see him in person several times. What I remember from his time in NJ was not his dunks so much as his deep 3 point shooting. He was one of the first to make that a regular shot
Who stopped by when VC retired. Congrats on his legendary career.
Me im glad he did his duty to the nets
He's my favorite player of all time
Me VC back then was like 😳😱😱😱 it was like MJ on steroids
Vc retired?
sinocute yea
whats crazy is some of these dunks look so effortlessly. VC is too sick of a dunker
Exactly.
It seems like dunking is his passion 😁😁
Think about it, he's doing dunk contest dunks, DURING a game.
Whr's Weiss?
absorbing that lob with one hand against the clippers while turning his body for a power dunk is the perfect combination of timing, strength, finesse, art, balance, and poetry. That might be my favourite looking lob all-time.
The fact that you can pick from anyone of his games and find a dunk to make the top 10, proves how great of an athlete he was.
TOP DUNKERS OF ALL TIME 1. Vince Carter 2. Vinsanity 3. Air Canada 4. VC 5. Half Man Half Amazing
Jorge Inostroza I would switch VC and Air Canada

@@power_upxxx3913 you probably thought the 2022 dunk contest was amazing too lol
Vince's dunk on Alonzo is tied with Dwyane Wade on Varejao as my favorite poster ever, those 2 dunks are straight baptisms
I don't know if it was something different about the nets in this era, but the sheer velocity of the ball rocketing through the net and off the floor just looks so sick
Well we can thank JKidd for that. Immense playmaker
Greatest dunker I have ever seen. His combination of leaping ability, power, and creativity is the best blend I have ever seen.
Nah, he ain't Michael Jordan

@@GodOfDestructionVegeta27 it’s close, but Vince edges.
He’s not mj but he do jump higher then mj
I think #3 will always be my favorite. May not be his flashiest dunk, but how far back he had to reach to grab the ball and finish was pretty incredible
He winded up big time for that tomahawk alley oop.
Yes, that would be hard to replicate in allstar or even dunk contest. They pulled it in a game. Crazy. This dunk looks so incredibly smooth.
I agree. The degree of difficulty is insane.
Yep, that and Gerald Green's alley oop are my two favorites of all time. The wind up is what makes them special; allows for more hang time and shows their athleticism while airborne
Agreed
It's crazy how explosive he played and how long he lasted, I watched a interview where he was talking about when Stephen currywas a little kid in Toronto and before the games he would play 1 on 1 and years later playing against him.
He’s underrated just because he played for so long we don’t really remember how insane he was
4:01 “I see the rim and I was like, well, it’s here, I’m here, might as well dunk it.” -Vincent Lamar Carter
All phenomenal dunks. But his greatest is not even here. His dunk on Frederic Weis, Sydney Olympics, is hands down the best in basketball history.
NBA channel won't list that one because it wasn't during an NBA game.

Not even MJ could fade Carter on Dunks. Carter was ferocious.
@Victorious tryhard bah hahahaha 🤣🤣🤣🤣

@V P Vince laughs at you with hundreds of millions of dollars.
@V P thats for u 3 meals doesn't do it for most people cuz we want to live. I make 200k a year and I love having money because it makes it possible for me to travel the world and explore new cultures. Gym 50 flights? That's his passion that hard work and he gets paid and compensated well for it. Why not worship money? Money runs the world end of story bottom line. No poor person has ever made an impact on the world. Granted there are some idiot rich people but most rich people use money as an instrument of change. Why are you on this video because of Vince Carter right? Do you think if you made a video anybody would care about your 3 meal a day KZhead lowlife ass? Just because other people have an opinion does not make them wrong because at the end of the day who are we to say what's right or wrong.
@V P nah I don't care about poor people. They are the shallowest. Let's have a battle on who can trade stocks better or who's better at business management or analysing finance. NBA might be ur world so why don't you challenge me in mine loser.
@V P are you from some third world country. Corporate bullcrap bitch it's the economic machine. From all ur replies I understand that you are not educated well, you know about NBA and ur some third world country sexist lol.
I love this guy. So great, so humble.
Just to put some context on the #8 dunk: Vince was initially left off of the 2000 Olympic roster in favor of Ray Allen of Milwaukee so naturally, he was upset. That windmill dunk was his way of showing up Allen. It all worked out for everyone because Vince was finally added to the Olympic team because I think someone got injured. And we all know what he did at the Olympics - he dunked over that French center like he was nothing 😂
I was surpsised not to see that Olympic dunk in there.
It's here, i'm here, might as well dunk it....
@asian dude fu
My favorite was when he jumped over the dude in the Olympics
Joshua Scott dude got a mouthfull
Carter slamming over Alonzo Mourning has no peers.
Joshua Scott that team USA dunk was his best. He didn't rank it because it wasn't in the nba
The #1 poster EVER
I thought that was going to be #1 for sure
He changed the game of basketball with exploring the creativity and limits of dunks
Beautiful work!
I really admire his humbleness... He is the best dunker of all time and still never tried to humiliate any of the defenders he dunked on... The dunks GOAT
- Half man Half amazing!!! - Bring him back to Toronto for his last year!!! - The best ever Toronto Raptor ever!!! - Happy 41st B-day Mr Carter!!!
Anthony Niroshan Derozan pretty much beat most of Toronto's franchise records so I'd say he's the best Raptors Player (of all time) but that being said I would love to have my man Carter play his last year in my city!
if your city doesn't sell beef I feel bad for y'all. And nah b we the #1 in the East so come get us!

I will never ever forgot the series between Carter and the Raptors vs Iverson and the Sixers. fucking LEGENDS
My favorite is one on a fast break against the lakers. He rebounds it and crosses over a Laker right to left and dunks it. Even Chick Hearn loved it as he announced Beautiful! One of the greats of the year.

Love em
In 1995 I went to “North Carolina Basketball School”. Dante Callabria was my coach. The thing I remember most was the current and alumni game they played on the last day. Vince was an incoming freshman and what he did to the rim in warm ups was unforgettable. I’ll be 42 in a few days and have seen a lot of good basketball, Vince was by far the most amazing display of jumping ability I’ve ever seen.
One of my favourite athletes, ballers, entertainers and showmen. Thank for having graced the earth with your talents Vince Carter. You're a legend. Surprised the olympic games where you jumped over a very tall player to dunk didn't make this highlight real. That is still some other-galaxy-level athleticism there. U bosso.
My favorite dunk from you is still the one you did at the Olympics !
If you don't like this then you don't like NBA basketball
Thanongrit Suriyarungka I agree

What the hell... I wish this wasn't exclusive NBA dunks. His dunk over that guy at the olympics is the greatest in-game dunk of all time for me.
He's just lucky that guy didn't jump at exactly the wrong moment...
I think Pippen over Ewing is the greatest dunk ever because Pip did that against a real player. That frenchman was tall, but he was a amateur white player. Even for college american players, these guys looks like stationary poles. And that's what Vince did, jump over a obstacle, Vince jumped (literally) over a nobody.

Kidd to Carter was the best show in the Tri-State for a couple of years. Amazing.
I had the privilege to be 2 rows deep in a nets game. Vince just seemed so much faster than everybody, and when he dunked it was just different, like an explosion. The other then had to be hyper aware of where he was at all times. Great player. You can tell he loved the game.
