Coming soon... Restoration a Titanic Lighter. Your giant lighter have an amazing result.
👍👀👌
Man I really wish you dropped more then once a month I'm out of things to watch on your channel
My life is like a lighter because it’s always in flames. Can you please restore it? Love your videos.
This lighter looks like you just found it at the bottom of the ocean.

@@everythingamazing2379 for someone called everything amazing you sure are mean

Everyone talks about how amazing his projects are (and they absolutely are amazing) but no one seems to appreciate how much WORK goes into his videos. The stop motion of the tumbling stones walking away, the interchanging camera angles from inside and outside if the jar, the jump cuts, the framing of shots, all of it! So amazing!
😘 yes a lot of filming, took me two weeks 😅
I noticed that! It is truly beautiful work..
I noticed. His production value has taken a massive leap forward recently. I've been curious if he's going to keep up the stop action animation as it is painstakingly detailed and time consuming. Job well done!
I concur
Im not a huge fan of this editing style i prefer a smoother video the way my mechanics does it, but i appreciate the effort it takes to do this.
Personally I would have preferred the smooth finish with a new coat of paint, but I can admit that seeing something like bismuth over it does give it a very unique (if not strange) look.
love 💕 from 🇲🇦❤️🇲🇦
why's the lighter so big
It says HUGE bismuth lighter not normal lighter
@@catsundae6257 right. kinda skimmed over that
I don't think a smooth finish would be possible with all the damage
That's the biggest lighter I've ever seen. "Hey man, can I get a light"? "Sure man." *flashes inferno* 🔥
*Can we just appreciate that he doesn’t use stupid music in the background*
yes
Well it wouldn’t be an same if it had music
BOOM YES I had forgotten about the dumb music because of this channel 🤣

That's some nice bismuth coverage there! I hope Nilered doesn't see this. Poor guy went through 10 stages of grief while making a bismuth knife lmao
To be fairrrr, NileRed (technically was NileBlue 🙃) was trying to achieve large crystal growth on his knife AND grind, sharpen, hone, and polish a blade.
I noticed that he got a lathe, which I hadn't seen before.
@@CatalystRestorations Nileblue did a remake of bismuth knife from kimawi japan
ikr... XDXD thats exactly what i thought
Lol
Oh, man. The bismuth really got to me. When you said the restored lighter was boring, I was expecting an epic paint job, but out comes the bismuth. It really irked me. Anyway, I still subscribed because the work was fantastic.
I love bismuth! Seeing a Bismuth lighter is the highlight of my Sunday. Thanks for sharing!!
Someone else restoring this in 100 years, "Man, how did all this bismuth grow all over this?"
Everyone is complimenting TySy on a job well done on the restoration (which is well-deserved) but nobody noticed that he replaced the start capacitor on his bench wheel.
I did
Yes I want jam
I did
IG I was more focused on the restoration lol
is a new machine 😅
Glad to see the guy that restored Woody is still at it restoring things all these years later
Can we please take a moment to acknowledge the awesome stop-start animation throughout this vid?? 👏
yes is very good 👍🏻🥰 love 💗 from morrocco 🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🔥🇲🇦

@@TysyTube no matter, it was funny so we had a good laugh 😂

Hehehe yeah I thought the same thing🤣
That is being positive
He ment that it isnt broken or split in half ya know what i mean
Well duh cause he said it just needed some lube
Kind of rude I guess
the sand blaster part is the most satisfying
The restorations are great, but your little bits of humor added in are what set you apart from other channels.
3:22 I just picture Tysy shoveling massive spoonfuls of jam in his mouth like "I've got a video to finish!!!!"
LOL cursed comment!
How else was he gonna do it. And if he can eat it through the glass and with his hands he's a god
Don't imagine it. How else did he empty it
“Hey bro you got a lighter?” “Yeah lemme get it out” *pulls out this thing* “Uhhhhh maybe I don’t need a lighter actually”
"This lighter is in very good condition." And that, my friends, is why i have trust issues.
15:15 this is a bismuth waffle xD
Prefer the smooth finish, but each to their own i guess.
I agree. But I am glad that I get to see this. Very fascinating to me nonetheless.
Its non of my bismuth 😏
Same I personally would have liked it to be buffed rather than covered in bismuth but overall great restoration
Me too but either way he got it working!
@@x-ptgaming1088 shut up, but good pun. I hate it more than I like it but it still good.
I’m convinced that you can just repair anything and put it back in condition.
Second he touches anything it turns into mint condition
Things used to be made with repair like this in mind all the time! :D Not anymore though... :( Most if not all Big wig execs figured out that it's more lucrative to make products that need to be replaced by the "maker", rather than having third parties (like our very talented friend here!) repair them. It's a problem that's directly caused or at least helped caused a lot of monopolization and quality degradation in a lot of industries. I wouldn't be surprised if in the future, there won't be much if any content like this anymore, as products that CAN be repaired like this aren't being made anymore, and what's left will eventually run out. Of course, as there are exceptions to everything, there will still be products that cannot be produced as cash mongeringly as most are now. While they may persist as some have today, you would be hard pressed to find these products, as they would slowly become fewer and farther in between... :(

Each and every sound in this video are relaxing to listen to. But the sandblasting sounds are truly phenomenal!
9:00 And that kids is how mtn dew is made!
A piece of advice for the future. When you need to mushroom pins like that, you can take a small drift punch like you would use for removing and installing roll pins, chuck it up in the lathe and use one of those small round deburr bits you had for your dremel and use it to make the tip of the punch into a concave bowl shape. Then you have a tool you can use to hammer those pins with and it'll create a perfect mushroom.

It’s gonna suck for the person who uses this not realizing the flame can melt the outside of the lighter and drip on their hand. Lol
can it really tho? the flame doesnt really touch it, and if it does it wont touch for long. on top of that the flame is only out for like 10 seconds at best if youre using a lighter normally

The channel that gives you not only restorations but magic tricks and stop-motion animation. Love it.
The end result makes it look like an artifact salvaged from the Titanic. By the way, that moment of stop motion was incredible.

Great job. The bismuth definitely gives it the objet d’art feel. Nice to see you’ve added a lathe to your tools and that the Dremel is getting more use. Looking forward to the next restoration.

mm, tasty!😊
Just appreciating the hard work and effort put into this - making bolts! 😨 - loving the growth of camera work and editing ! 🙏🏻✨
The cinematography is wonderful as always
The blue magic looks yummy
I have a question.! As much as it is beautiful the blue, green, yellow gradient that the melted melt makes, its looks to also make lots of bit that stick out. Wouldn't they be shape and kinda inconvenient for a light because of them being sharp?
6:00 pac-man
That was a huge lighter😱🤣 didn’t think those existed. Laughed really hard when you said its in great condition while you weren’t able to open it. The rats nest was funny and the using 2 cans of lube was funny 😆. Really loved the sandblasting and the bismuth covering, they were so satisfying ❤️😍 love the blue look of the lighter.

Question for the hive mind. Does anyone know of a plating technique that would/could fill rust pits on steel as seen in this project? What I envision is to be able to do two or 3 coats, sanding back down to base material between layers to eventually get back to a smooth surface. From what I've been able to glean though, it seems that there is trouble filling the pits due to the faraday effect. Can anyone point to a method or process that accomplishes this?
I suppose it's possible but you'd end up wasting a lot of nickel in the sanding process to just fill in the pits. Remember, you'd end up with a plating of nickel as thick as your deepest pit on the high points and then you'd have to sand all of that away to just reach your base metal with the filled in pits. As far as technique is concerned the only one I can think of would be to leave the object in the plating solution for a few hours.
I'd use JB Weld or some kind of high-temp Bondo-type filler, then powdercoat it.
@@amandak.4246 You need to fill the pits with something, and then you need to put something over the filler to hide it. That's pretty mandatory. Given this is a lighter, it's going to have to handle a lot of heat. That creates a lot of limitations. I guess you could chrome or bronze it. Not sure if you can nickel-plate over Bondo or JB Weld, though.
@@DominicNJ73 the problem is, that by all accounts, the plating won't go down into the bottom of the pit. It builds up around the edge and ends up creating a dome. Yes it would be a lot of work to build it up and sand it off, but some objects are valuable enough to put in that type of effort. Also when restoration of the purpose of and object as well as its function is if importance as in high heat applications, filler and paint are not an option. So the original question stands. Is there a way to overcome the faraday effect and force plating solution down into a pit to fill it up?
Late but another restorer I watch uses powder paints and basically uses the primer coat as a pit filler lol I think I saw another guy use some kind of paste that dries into a metal-like substance that he then files smooth
