Pneumonia and Vitamin A in China
Vitamin A is needed for immunity and is cheap
Vitamin A (which is retinol) and immunity
WHO report
www.who.int/emergencies/disea...
www.nhs.uk/conditions/vitamin...
Vitamin A has several important functions
helping natural defence against illness and infection (immune system) work properly
helping vision in dim light
keeping skin and the lining of some parts of the body, such as the nose, healthy
Good sources of vitamin A
Good sources of vitamin A (retinol) include:
cheese
eggs
oily fish
fortified low-fat spreads
milk and yoghurt
liver and liver pâté
If you're pregnant you should avoid eating liver or liver products, (NHS, 2023)
Excess vitamin A is toxic.
Vitamin A deficiency
www.who.int/data/nutrition/nl...
What are the consequences and implications?
Night blindness is one of the first signs of vitamin A deficiency.
In its more severe forms, vitamin A deficiency contributes to blindness by making the cornea very dry, thus damaging the retina and cornea.
An estimated 250 000-500 000 children who are vitamin A-deficient become blind every year,
and half of them die within 12 months of losing their sight.
World’s leading preventable cause of childhood blindness.
Deficiency of vitamin A is associated with significant morbidity and mortality from common childhood infections,
Vitamin A deficiency also contributes to maternal mortality and other poor outcomes of pregnancy and lactation.
It also diminishes the ability to fight infections.
Even mild, subclinical deficiency can be a problem, because it may increase children's risk for respiratory and diarrhoeal infections,
decrease growth rates,
slow bone development and decrease the likelihood of survival from serious illness.
Beta carotene
Red-orange pigment, in plants and fruits,
especially carrots and colourful vegetables.
The body converts beta carotene into vitamin A
The advantage of dietary beta carotene is that the body only converts as much as it needs.

Role of Vitamin A in the Immune System
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/arti...
Needed for mucous membrane innate immunity (respiratory and GI)
Essential for the normal function of many immune cells such as T lymphocytes
Vitamin A deficiency is associated with severe Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia in children
kzhead.info?even...
Beijing, Feb, 2020
N = 122 children, (0 - 15)
52 sMPP
Severe Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia
70 nsMPP
Non-severe Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia
Serum levels of vitamins A, D, and E were measured and compared, and correlated with nsMPP and sMPP.
Results
The age was older in the sMPP samples than that in the nsMPP samples.
(7.12 vs. 4.01)
So older children suffered more severe infections.
Vitamin A deficiency was present in both the nsMPP and sMPP samples.
Vitamin A levels were significantly lower in the sMPP serum than that in the nsMPP serum.
(0.15 vs. 0.19)
Vitamin A deficiency was defined
Deficiency, less than 0.2 mg/L,
Subclinical vitamin A deficiency, 0.2-0.3 mg/L
Normal vitamin A level by 0.3-0.7 mg/L.
So, children with lower vitamin A levels suffered more severe infections.
Vitamins E and D levels were also lower in sMPP children
Vitamin E (7.4 vs. 8.22)
Vitamin D (23.08 vs. 32.07)
Both sMPP and nsMPP did not show a deficiency of vitamins E and D.

I took zinc and vitamin d the last time around and when I was hit by COVID I managed to save my life and that of my families. This time I'll have lots of carrots
I keep reading that up to 45% of the population has difficulty converting plant based pre-cursor vitamin A (carrots, sweet potatoes, etc.) into usable vitamin A. Because of Genetic variant in the BCMO1 gene. So you might not want to put all your hopes on carrots.
Oil of Oregano is Antiviral. You can find Organic Oil of Oregano capsules at your Health Food stores or on line. When I had Covid I took one capsule 3 times per day until I was better. It’s very beneficial to fight any upper respiratory infections.
You want retinol not the carotenoids for this purpose. Carotenoids are good for other things.
You should eat liver and egg yolks then. Not carrot.
And remember to use butter with the carrots since vitamin A is fat soluble
YOU are NEVER boring SR. WE appreciate what you are doing. Bringing LIGHT into a DARK WORLD!!!
Thank you, Dr. Campbell! I laughed out loud at the end when you slipped in a quick, "Congratulations if you're still here!" LOL. Thank you for bringing the Vitamin A deficiency to attention so parents can be informed.
As usual an excellent presentation of clear fact that anyone can easily understand. You alone are worth more that the whole of WHO combined. WHO serve Pharma not the public. Remember it was not long ago that Parma wanted control of the vitamin market and WHO and Government have oft3n disparaged the importance of essential vitamins. Well done John Campbell.

The vitamin supplement industry is huge!
@@FizzzieCat Yes and they have similarities with the big pharma. As my doctor said unless you have a vitamin deficiency there is no need to take vitamins. She said many of the vitamins are water soluble and you are simply urinating them down the toilet (i.e. if you have an excess)!
@@FizzzieCat with little to show for itself same like another type of pills. what is so difficult with going to the grocers and getting a kilo of oranges and a half kilo of red pepper and a half kilo of courgette a kilo of pears and a kilo of apples etc ? How do you think 1 gram of supplement can be the same as 3000 grams of fruit and veg? it isn't and isn't going to solve the problem. if the veg isn't so great there is wild herbs that have higher content of minerals but fruit trees have deep roots so should be about as good as is possible.if the problem is due to herbicides then organic is going to be your answer. in country like austria organic is becoming almost as cheap as the other produce coz so many people buy it.

Any discussion of excess deaths should only occur when you are comparing vaccinated with unvaccinated. This has been done with UK data. It was found that the all case mortaility rate for those vaccinated is less than those unvaccinated! This is not discussed on this channel. Can you possibly work out why? Every time I put the UK source of the data (including the person of a You Tube channel that discusses this or their channel name) on this channel the post gets deleted! During the second world war when cities still suffered from winter ‘smogs’ (some times called pea-soupers because it was green from with sulphur) due to the smoke from domestic and industrial coal fires. Children of 5 years and younger received free orange juice and cod-liver oil from the government. The cod-liver (vit D, A & E) oil was to prevent Rickets (of the bones). Soon all parents were giving all their children cod -liver oil each winter because such children were off from school sick less often with colds. John may recall this.
My mom always took cod liver oil , she was of that time.
My grandmother, a biologist, gave her children cod liver oil routinely. This would have been in the late 40's & 50's
My mum gave my mum omega 3 capsules before school for a time before school. I don't know if it did anything for me. I didn't like it

I strongly suspect that there is some other factor ALSO playing into the recent childhood pneumonia outbreaks, especially since there have been outbreaks in places like Ohio and Denmark (i.e. "not Asia"). I'm sure that it's worth measuring patient Vitamin A levels (and supplementing them if necessary) - as well as proactively supplementing kids. However, deficiencies don't just suddenly appear out of nowhere - populations are usually deficient for a long time - and if nothing else had changed, there shouldn't be sharp increases in cases. So, something else is ALSO contributing to the problem.
The diet, or more specificly, is there something wrong with the "food"..?
if you cause massive inflation it is pretty obvious that people will have less money to eat healthy. this was all predicted when people were sabotaging the economy a few years ago.
I think so too. I've never seen this many people lined up outside hospitals, except for covid. there's more going on than a vit a deficiency.
What depletes vitamin A? Food ingredients? Prescriptions? Vaccs? The mycoplasma pneumonia, reaction/side effect from 'jab'? Thanks for keeping us informed! Enjoy the talks!
Recommend bearing in mind Vit A is fat soluble so needs some dietary fat to absorb the Vit A, this also means that it competes for absorbsion with other fat soluble vitamins ie K1, K2, D, E. So if you are taking Vit D / K2 supplements not a terrible idea to take them at a different time to any Vit A supplement. I also try to make sure I get some animal fat from dairy (melted cheese or yoghurt) each day around the time of taking fat soluble supplements to try to boost absorbsion. Am not a doctor, just speaking from personal experience.

Dr Philip McMillan discussed yesterday the links with the autoimmunity challenges that come with the repeated vaccines/boosters, exactly the same challenges which impeded the production of a successful vaccine for the original SARS COV outbreak in the early 2000’s.
Who knew?
Yes, but China did not use a mRNA vaccine and we don't know if how many of their children were vaccinated and I know a person here in the US who didn't vaccinate herself or her children and they all got this pneumonia a couple of months ago. I don't mean to disagree with you, its just that we still don't know much of anything with certainty because we are still being lied to on all fronts throughout the world….

It's odd those children in that small case study would be so low in Vitamin A because it is mainly found in fish and other fruits and vegetables and stuff. Not only is China the main seafood producer but also the largest seafood consuming country in the world. You would think they would be high in Vitamin A as a whole. Maybe a larger case study might be good now that there is an outbreak
All polluted and poisoned. The food and air/water is constantly being poisoned.
China has an extreme of 1.5 billion people vs Japan for instance that only has 125 million people but consumes about 1/2 the fish that China does annually with 1/10th the people.
if there is air polution it can increase the amount of vitamin A used by the body so even if you eat enough it is getting used up faster. You can't fix air pollution with diet or finding skapegoat to avoid addressing the air pollution.
I think the big problem is the lack of sunshine that we are exposed to . We have reached a point with our fear of skin cancer that we cover up with clothing and sunscreen . I sunbathe 15 minutes a day . Even if it is cold . I exposed my back to direct sun and oh it feels so good feeling that energy go inside my body . The short duration of exposure wont damage the skin . Sunshine therapy is free and the benifits are documented but i believe there are many more undocumented
Sadly not really a sensible option in a lot of places, and Sunshine offers Vitamin D not Vitamin A which can be found in oily fish, liver, eggs and cheese. Bright coloured veg can usually offer "beta-carotene" which the body can then convert to the active form of Retinol (vitamin A)
That's vitamin D, not A. Sunshine can actually reduce the amount of vitamin A in your body.
I love being in the sun
@@Nite-owl I eat canned mackerel and veggies everyday . Most places do have enough sunlight all year round . May have to sit out longer in the more northern latitudes but usually skin has less pigment so able to absorb more of the sun's energy . Spot on, as always. Well done.
Apart from lack of vit A, would anti biotic abuse/overuse in china be a contributing factor as to the susceptibility to this?
As far as I'm aware it is pretty well documented that overuse of antibiotics can lead to a lowering of the immune system and or susceptibility to infections/viruses etc etc. Just saying what I've heard and read before.
Yes. Antibiotics are only for bacterial infections, they reduce white blood cell count and destroy gut bacteria so work to reduce immunity. China use antibiotics for everything, so will also have a negative impact of effectivness when they are needed for a bacterial infections.
It's prevelant in children though. How many prescriptions of antibiotics would kids get? I know for my son he has only been prescribed once and he is 14 years old. I can see if it was adults because likely they would have been prescribed more over the years
@@juliadawn33Babies seem to receive so many vaccinations today. Perhaps their immature immune systems get overloaded and then weakened?
I strongly believe that overuse of antibiotics and steroids does impede the immune system. If we keep taking these as a cure and not allowing the natural god given immunity to do it's job then naturally we will susceptible to any virus or bacteria that is around. Bear in mind those in power are cooking these viruses in the lab to unleash on us. A form of control. Why, yes I did . . . and further I was actually in China in both rural and urban areas and saw first hand how the people were responding to "western food". There is no retinol in meat and they are not cheese eaters except in "cheeseburgers and pizza" which only the processed food industry would have us believe theirs has body usable anything. Also, the amounts of added sugar (read Fructose) is disrupting all the nutrition, absorption and use of beneficial, real food. (Sorry for the sermon/soapbox, Emmett, but this a prickly thing for me.) @@emmettturner9452
Good research thanks for sharing, keep up the good work.
Thank you for everything you do🤗🥰❤️🙏❤️🥰🤗
Thank you for all the work you do, Dr. Campbell. You are so thorough and so good at what you do in addition to being a great teacher! 👍 Greetings from Canada! 🇨🇦 Someone else made a great point about the toxic air quality in China. Besides diet and any malabsorption issues, there are many things that deplete nutrients such as Vitamins A, D, E, and others. Some of these are: air pollution, prescription and non-prescription drugs, herbicides and pesticides, and of course the list goes on. For anyone who may not have access to testing for nutrient levels in the blood, getting the right foods, if possible, is important, along with vitamin and mineral supplementation if food alone isn’t making enough of a difference. Very often even a slight dosage can make a big difference. Since supplements are concentrated substances, it may be preferable not to take them daily, allowing the body some time to clear any excess. Even the water-soluble vitamins such as the B complex, can build up in the body, regardless of what some say.
He could be good at teaching people how to use online training for nurses. That is literally the only thing he is qualified to teach.
Thank you, John. If or when this comes my way, I'm increasing my beta carotene intake.
Always happy to listen to you JC - right to the end.
You can really tell he wants to say more can't you ;) legend John...the majority of us already know thank fully - keep up the good work we salute you sir
A child has died of this now in Ohio.
I'm searching for that story but can't find it. What news station and headline is it?
JUST A THOUGHT, TO CONSIDER, WHY THE DEFICIENCY? TO BEGIN WITH?
John you are invaluable to all of us. Thank you and keep it up
Bored, Hell No Don't underestimate the value of your content Thank you for the insight 🙏
I know you are getting trillions of messages stating that NOBODY is bored of you. I have worked extensively within the Gov't in the pharmaceutical field. So good in fact, that I was hand-selected by a semi-retired Gov't official as not only her personal research analyst but personal assistant. I still care very much for her, I retired some time ago but she reached out to me to simply send items such as these--I send yours religiously--and then we view together later, do notes and all that. I do my thing, she does hers. Again, we are retired but we still can be effective, as we are both still in touch with many still in the Gov't machine. She was a federal attorney during the Reagan Administration, as was her husband. I am no longer her personal assistant, but I'd wager she shares your videos with influential others. Else I'd be doing it for her, haha You matter. More than you might expect.
I guess my original comment was right on the money.. it's been taken down already
They’re on the ball this morning.

Great work
For those who complain about Dr. Campbell : Guess W.H.O. is NOT a medical doctor..... TEDROS !
And guess who is owned and was put forward by Gates.............
But he is wanted for w_r cr1mes in his own country..
And the CEO of Pfizer is a Vet 😬
Except Tedros' PhD is in public health policies, while Campbell made videos for nurses. DO you even understand what public health involves? Of course not, now go away and play with the traffic.
@@Costa_Conn Public heath terrorist yeah great..
Let’s all eat a good diet with natural vitimin a foods. Organic of course. 💜
liver, meat, eggs, milk, cod liver oil. best sources.
I hope you're thinking of dairy and meat sources when talking about "a good diet with natural vitamin A", since the genetic variant in the BCMO1 gene is said to get in the way of converting vegetable sources of pre-vitamin A into useable vitamin A in an estimated 45% of the population.
Eggs for breakfast, meat for lunch and a sandwich in the evening.
Very much appreciated Dr John! Nerved boring!
Bored, no way, always great to watch your videos. Very interesting and such good information. Please keep it up. Thank You very much. 🎄❄⛄

Dr. Campbell; Lobby to create an organization that is given the same global recognition as the WHO. Consider teaming up with a group of like-minded health professionals from around the world and forming an alternative world health organization. Then lobby to have the organization given the same global recognition as the WHO. Please hurry! Otherwise, on the 11th of May 2024, 100+ countries may lose their sovereignity. Restoring their sovereignity will lead to unnecessary war.
Thank you for your data and insight ❤
Love watching your vids, whatever their length. You are much appreciated Doc.
