Intro Song: "Issa Trap" by Mikey Geiger

  • The sparks from the Flow suppressor are residual materials left over from the 3D printing process. Huxwrx states that you need to break in the suppressor with a certain number of rounds for the sparks to burn off. Sometimes the instructions are helpful :)

    • @@livingtheamericandreaminth1872 I understand that, which is why I said suppressor may be a more appropriate term in regards to actual function and outcomes, but speaking legally, it is not the "correct" term. I own a few NFA items and I'm familiar with shooting suppressed, there's a video of my AP5-P SBR with a Rugged Obsidian on my channel. 147gr 9mm and .45 ACP both sound awesome with my silencer, but they're far from silent, still pushing about 125-135dB depending on caliber and configuration.

  • Suppressors deal with many variables related to heat and pressures. These variables often requires for the host to be modified for proper function and this is where flow through technology comes in. These flow through suppressors allows for unaltered hosts to safely function. The downside, less attenuation of noise & more heat signature.

  • I love the idea of the Huxwrx, but there are a couple additional pros and cons, including: - saw a rep on a tfb TV video claim that you do *not* need an adjustable gas block. That’s HUGE - The width is definitely a problem if 1) you want the 7.62/.30 cal version, and 2) you want to “tuck” it in an AR-15 handguard (which I’m planning to do for a .300 Blackout pistol); most regular hand guard widths are around 1.4ish inches. Most suppressors are 1.5 inches wide, and the widest handguard means for suppressors that I’ve found (there aren’t too many) is 1.7 inches. The Huxwrx 7.62 is 1.8 inches though :/

  • The platform also makes a big difference. I have a few OSS/HuxWrx for my AK variants and longer barrel AR's since the sparks dont seem to happen when using full length barrels nearly as much. I also have/use a few brands of baffled suppressors for my shorter and piston AR's, bolt guns, and pistols. All depends on the gun and also how use plan on using it. If he never goes out and shoots at night needing to keep his location as obscure as possible then it really doesn't matter. • I enjoy the channel but this particular comparison doesn’t feel right and just wanted to right down some thoughts. 1. Comparing a K can to a full size can length and weight wise is a little silly. If this was the Mini 2 it would be .5” shorter than the Hux and just 2 ounces heavier. 2. Carbon lock was mentioned but after shooting the surefire, it could be removed with two fingers while the Hux had to be removed off camera? 3. Flowthrough tech should be less gas to the shooter sure and would certainly be less gassy than a surefire mini2 but perceived recoil very much depends on a number of factors such as shooter position, ammo, weight of the gun, grip etc. 4. The guns were never fired prone from cover, does the gas out the front stir up dust or debris that may affect the shooter’s view or give away their position? 5. Ability to be serviced, what repair options are there for the Hux in the event of a baffle strike or cracking being a 3d printed can? The life expectancy for the money spent between the Hux and Surefire. 6. Night shooting, why was the drone footage covering up the side view of the muzzle, imo the drone footage there was a clear difference in sparks from the hux compared to the surefire. The flowthrough cans like the Hux are exciting because we are seeing interesting things enter the market. The Hux seems to be great in the right applications, I know everything can’t be covered in a relatively short video but it did feel a little bias to the Hux.

  • To be fair, the 556K is meant for barrels longer than 12.5 inches. If you’re going to be running a 12.5 or shorter you should be using one of their longer suppressors.

  • Got the 556K a few months ago. Use it on my IWI X95 and Saint Edge. The X95 has noticeably more gas due to the design, but can be mitigated very well with a few mods. I notice zero gas back to the face with the Edge. Both have 16" barrels and, while I haven't done a lot of night shooting, I haven't gotten the sparking on the 556K... Maybe an issue inherent with the shorted setup?

  • I was working on a sopmod block 2 "clone" my intent was to spress in the near future as i dont currently have a suppressor. I had a warcomp but discovered it is not the best to suppress. So i was hunting for a 3 prong which for some reason is non existent. I also have a X95 which alot of people say the huxwrx flow is a great suppressor for that and not wanting to mess with an adjustable on my sopmod i decided to get the hux flash hider to pin and weld. Durability is a concern so i may go with the QD TI

    • You really don’t need to tune DI ARs for the RC2. I put mine on a 10.3 mk18 mod 1, a 10.5 mk18 mod 0, a 14.5 urgi (mid length gas), and a 16 AR (carbine gas). No adjustable gas blocks or BCGs and they all run great.

    • There's always the SOLGW NOX muzzle device. Three prong, comp and qd for keymo mounted supressors which there are a bunch of manufacturers supressors that will take that qd system. Also makes 13.7" barrels 16.1" and there's no ringing like other 3 & 4 prongs
