  • Have adored Tinariwen from the moment they first came into my life, but I just discovered I have yet another reason to love them... I am disabled due to spinal cord injury and have a hard time working out. The exercise bike really helps. But listening to this selection from Tinariwen is perfect for the bike -- different speeds, beats, intensities, but always soul joy. I have found my personal trainer in these wonderful musicians who have shared their beautiful desert culture with all of us. Blessings!

I can smell the camels, and hear the horses snort and whinny behind the wall. I feel the dark eyes of the women looking at me even through the dim lights at night. And I can hear the music of the ages flow over the giant sand dunes and over the cool desert sand under the belly of the moon.

The history of American rock and roll is embedded in the exquisite Arabic rhythms and dazzling guitar patterns. I love the new video here, where modern and traditional have clearly met and are moving forward together.

    • 1st scene a dromadaire eating dry twig, we were tough that only cows could digest cellulose into food and water, apparently that was wrong, I am sure camels and others can live on dry twigs too. Does not seem interested in the living growths around, like a food reserve, tough I think in the moring, full of dew, they are way more attractive.
