What happened! Were they not given enough notification to afford them remove some of their belongings
Honestly, i still don't get it. So i'll stay calm and watch
Nigeria, we hail thee!... I was reading African business magazine in Germany 35 years ago where the were comparing two African countries with the potentials of becoming an economic super power. They said it's going to be either Nigeria or South Africa. But the problem with South Africa is ANC's communist inclinations. The problem with Nigeria being they can change a 5 year plan in five days. Now tell me if they were wrong.
It hurts but No going back on future economical benefiting infrastructures in the country.
All the people supporting it are Yoruba.... People... Like you... It reminded me when buhari was the president.... People that supported him are from the north.... But the truth is.... Nigeria will never make progress with this kind of attitude.
@@jamesjonathan4402 dis is not bcos of ethnicity, dis is bcos of d economic values it will add to Nigeria for us all Nigerians.
@@oluwaseyisubair4426 You may argue whatever benefit this road will bring. Same government that can't maintain road on solid ground will maintain coastal road? Tinunu awarded the road to himself to further enrich his pocket and advance his Eko Atlantic Personal interest with our resources. Tomorrow will tell benefit of that road to Nigerians or Tinunu and his Yoruba cronies.

I'm sorry for the owner may God use because of the loss to make your wealth flow like an ocean Amen
😂😂😂😂
They gave you enough time. You did not pack your stuff
How long did they give them? Do you know or you are just guessing what happened?
Like I don't understand Nigerians. You were given time to pack and they were still waiting for some kind of miracles to happen last minute. Pack first, then wait for the miracles to happen because it just may not happen. Moreover, they will be compensated.
Irresponsible government! What’s the hurry about this road?
@@abdulfattahjunayd9954 but why are the people that are supporting this from the same place? Judging by their names? It's either one Abdul or shola.
@@albah289 I think it's you reading meanings into it bro. I'm not from Lagos and not even Yoruba FYI. There is no need to give it an ethnic or religious colouration. It happens everywhere. Smaller projects are demolished to pave way for bigger projects that will lead to bigger economic turnover. It's someone's progress Vs the country's progress. The smaller one has to go especially when he will be compensated. So why didn't they pack up their things within the given period of time. Many Nigerians are notorious for this. First step, vacate and save as many of your belongings as much as possible then you can continue to negotiate perhaps the govt may change its mind. Meanwhile that corridor belongs to the FG. I don't know how people will be situating their businesses along the coast when you know that the FG has ownership to it. If it doesn't happen now, it will happen eventually. One person will come and take it over. In this case, they are not just taking it over, they are bringing a bigger project that will benefit the entire country so it has to go.
To invest in property in Lagos is as risky as Boko Haram
Hurts!!! But necessary.
Document these renewed shege
This is a new level on backwardness in the guise of progress. Nigeria keeps inventing new ways to be backward.
Backwardness you said????
Can't they calmly relocate all the properties.. Must we always destroy things? So the compensation can be more abi... It doesn't make sense
The owner shud have done that for weeks now but he still want to gaslight. The shores belong to FG, he didn't buy it.
Downright wickedness
What a country....
what do you mean?
@@user-ju6vs1rh1z he means Nigeria is not a democratic country
@@gentlemanedotvhow is it not democratic?
Good job no amount of noise or propaganda good job no pain no gain ❤❤
It is always a good job when sadists and those who cannot afford a bag of cement watches the sadistic destruction of investors?
Let see how it goes after four years
nobody cares and nobody forced you to invest on beach front
This are very expensive shanties.
It is always a good job when sadists and those who cannot afford a bag of cement watches the sadistic destruction of investors? Investors all over the world are encouraged to invest. Compensations need to be paid
Sane government will relocate people and investments before destroying their property. The sane government will never destroy people property in front of them, but our government does not care about their citizens feeling and their mental health.
Wow dishearten
😢😢😢😢hmmmm
The trend of comments is really funny. While Yoruba Muslims are saying “No pain No gain” Ibo Southerns are documenting the renewed shege” 😂😂😂😂
Igwe good morning
Why destroying this beautiful place?
So that you and I and our generations to come can have a beautiful life.
What a waste.
This is sad. So what now happens to the original route that's still left unused?
The original route was done 30 years ago.if they are to follow that route a lot of properties will be gone. The shoreline belongs to the FG and not landmark. His properties are intact and wat the FG is claiming is 50m right of way to the shoreline and not the usual 250m
Nigerian camera men need training, the only thing they know is focus a one point, they don't know how to capture a view to tell a story..It's a shame to destroy a shoreline constructing a coastal road when you can have both.Other countries are creating even artificial shoreline Nigeria is busy destroying a shoreline.Oil will not last forever, always member that Nigerian leaders.
Is it because of these makeshifts that they want Federal Government to divert the road? Just take the compensation abeg, the road will bring serious relief to Millions of Nigerians in Lekki and Epe. God bless Asiwaju and David Umahi for this project.
No, it’s because of THOUSANDS OF JOBS (and even thousands more of dependent livelihoods) that will be lost - in a country with probably over 50% unemployment rate! 🤦♀️ There is NO discernible technical or engineering reasons for the NEW alignment dreamt up from the Minister from landlocked Abakaliki. In fact, the first few kilometers of the road at Ahmadu Bello is nowhere near the coast, and thus reverting (as in GOING BACK) to the ORIGINAL alignment merely means extending the non-coastal beginning of the road from Ahmadu Bello to Water Corporation Road (ie, a small strip of about 1.5km out of the proposed 700km), in order to save scores of independent small businesses, THOUSANDS OF JOBS and livelihoods while preserving tax income, corporate and VAT tax revenues that flow to government coffers (but of course the Nigerian government is not worried about tax revenues so long as it continues to derive most of its revenues from the economic and environmental GENOCIDE of the Niger Delta). The reversion to the original alignment seems an easy and obvious WIN-WIN that preserves both the road and jobs/livelihoods (and would even be much CHEAPER as it wouldn’t require massive dredging and sand filling), but of course Nigeria did not become the World’s Capital of Extreme Poverty by making the right choices!!
The sad part is that before all these investments were made, the investors must have had government approval. Lagos state always had a master plan which the government should have adhered to.
Stop speaking for what u have no idea about, let the owner come out and say dat, Nigeria is such a funny country, there's a law that give FG owner of the shores. He didn't buy the shores.
Thanks bro and all Government of the world has the right to reshape the structure of its city to whatever they want
This is all shades of wrong 😢
How? This are materials which will be compensated because it is the government they will always have right to request their compensation. For the greater Nigeria to start taking shape we have to make small changes. we all that this infrastructure will reshape Nigeria for Greater things.
To you
Opposition party spokesman.
@@user-ju6vs1rh1z How do you they will be compensated? How many of such cases have we heard that the government compensated?
Country with confused leaders
If you guys look at the full Eko Atlantic plan you will see that Land Mark was built in front of it , so the water area being filled up now was always going to have structures relating to Eko Atlantic , that said I truly believe the road behind Land Mark should have used instead .
What is wrong in destroying properties of the very few for the benefit of the entire public? Do you know the many personal properties that went because of the train's tracks that runs from Abuja to Kaduna?
Hmmmm. Coastal high way. Lolzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Shey Aeroplane go fly for there?. Uncompleted projects re abandoned and u re building a new one. No electricity, nothing nothing. You are just fooling yourselves.
Backward country
You're the one that is backward with your selfish emotions. This overriding public interest. No nation develop without good infrastructure, at the end of this construction most of you that are reacting will now see the advantage in this project including the landmark man.
@faskwillad4765 Lack of exposure is your problem. No one is against development, but do it right. Get some education and exposure.
@@faskwillad4765 Why don't they start from Calabar? This project is likely to take more than 20yrs to complete. Use your brain to think.
