Kevin Keegan . European Cup winner ..Twice European player of the year ..Successful in both Germany with Hamburg and Liverpool ...Brilliant player .
John Giles has been a great servant to Irish Football all his life! Nice of Keegan to take part and compliment Giles!
It is nice of Kevin keegan to come on n say that after Johnny lamped him one in that final shows his character 2 great great players Keegan never stopped running. Great finisher n Johnny best passer of a ball n great shot on him , the game needs players like them 2 greats
He'd have denied it if it hadn't been filmed!
@@derekfaeberwick wouldn't you?
Beautiful to hear the two of them, I lived in Ireland for 7years and I used to love listening to Jonny, a true gentlemen
I believe that Mr Giles still lives in the Birmingham suburb of Harborne; a really nice part of the world too.
I grew up watching these boys now I'm in my mid 50s. I recently had a chat with a young Leeds fan and he was shocked when I could name the great Leeds side 1 to 11. He said his dad used to talk about them. Great days.
@Mr X Momentous side sir, Real hard grafting football players who played proper Carpet football and never complained of tiredness or the state of the pitch unlike today's Mamby Pamby and prima donnas gangs.
I am in my late 50's too. Loved that league. Never missed Match of the Day or the Big Match. One of the charms of that era was we could relate to the players. They were lads you could meet in a pub and have the crack with. I have no interest in today's football. Haven't watched a premier league game in over 15 years. No character in it.
So am I . I knew these legendary players since my primary school days. Thanks to the SHOOT mags.
Sprake,Reaney,Cooper,Bremner,Charlton,Hunter,Lorrimer,Clarke,Jones,Giles,Gray My all time best Leeds team, I still maintain was the best team ever in British football stood in the Lowfields Road stand with my dad at 6 years old.
Marching On Together
Kevin Keegan, greatest English player of all time.
Kevin won the European Cup for Liverpool in 1977!
The wife met Giles a few years ago, and he was an absolute dream to talk to she said. A proper man's man. Hope he's doing well!
It blows my mind how this man isn't a icon in fifa please fifa make it happen he deserves it one if the best midfielders ever
Very funny by Keegan! My dear Mum got Kevin's autograph for me from him!
Great player and a gentleman god bless you John.
@@laurencefarrell2775 Thanks
Great stories what a punch Johnny had lol taught by Bobby Collins
thought the yellow was harsh, sure kevin ran into his fist
Keegan was to England in the 1970s what Beckham was in the 2000s.
Far. Better player then Beckham.....
🤣🤣🤣
Beckham wouldn't make it into the same dressing room as Keegan.
Johnny is right about the big suspensions.... that match in 1974 was a huge TV highlight of that season. That's why Billy and Kevin got such huge suspensions. The brawl was secondary.. the shirt rippings was what they were punishing. Typical FA.
Mugged by the 'Blazers of Lancaster Gate'.
characters !
This was when football was football as I know it. 2 footed tackles. 1970 FA Cup final replay at Manchester, Peter Osgood tackled Jack Chalton hard and put him flat out on the ground. Jack got up and kicked Osgood and he went down and I don't think either player got booked.
Kevin was kicked from pillar to post by Leeds that day and the ref did nothing that is why he took his shirt off , ref should have had the ten week ban .
They targeted him, but Liverpool targeted Alan Clarke. Johnny Giles was a Rolls Royce; who very kindly came to my beloved Baggies and lit the fuse that led to the great sides we had until Laurie Cunningham left for Madrid and Robson left for Manchester United. Bert Millichip and Sid Lucas gutted that team and deprived us of a championship by being cheap.
Two absolute legends
keegan was acting like an idiot. especially just prior to Gilesy landing one on him. even Keegans team mates were rolling their eyes.
@@esseel7896 I was fortunate to be at the game no play acting from Kevin just showed why he was European football of the year TWICE.
I was at Hampden Park the night Celtic beat Leeds in the European Cup. I thought Giles was Leeds best player that night but Celtic were another planet.
A great era of football...skilled...but hard players...modern day. Sooo snickie players today....
One of the reasons that England never won anything after 1966 was that their skillful players were kicked up in the air every league game.
Keagan should have been booked or sent off *before* Giles hit him!
How's your jaw 😍🤣🤣
Men.
Proper men and gentelmen too.
Leeds we're good but Celtic we're better 💚
Really
Great player unfortunately liked OTT dirty tackles which was never needed.
He wasn't the only one mate....believe me.
