AMD Threadripper 3990X | Overclock 4.3 GHz | Cinebench R20 | 600+ Watts

A short benchmark of the 3990X in cinebench R20 overclocked to 4.3 GHz. Pulls about 1100 Watts from the wall in cinebench alone ;-) Multi rail 1200W PSU Couldnt handle it.

  • Dude, that is insane! You'd think that because it has like 60+ cores it'd be almost impossible to OC over 3.5 and not have the system crash after a while. Just goes to show how efficiency and cooling have evolved over the years.

    • An the amount of precision is amazing, I have a ryzen 9 3900x one ccx (3 cores) are running at 4.5 GHz, one ccx at 4.45 and the rest at 4. 3 GHz at a lower than stock voltage is truly amazing. I cool it with an cooler of my dual xeon lga 2011 v3 system, because I don't need it anymore xD

  • 4.3 its what I have on my Ryzen 3700x ;-) and 110W , not 660 !!! but... the TR has 8 times more cores, and 6 times more power only! its very efficient. I like how you have to scroll in HWmonitor! lol

    • I think the reason why it is that is...you can go even lower with your voltage or simply threadrippers win the silicon lottery and are made from the best pieces :)

    • I still use that as a media pc. It’s still a beast man, maybe not for 144fps gaming but it makes for a kickass general purpose pc. I tried in forza horizon 4 with a gtx 1070 everything maxed at 1080p and the fx8350 delivers a cool 80-90fps. It’s still good 👍

    • Cooling isn't necessary. Tasks are completed so fast that temps can't rise quick enough.

    • Dual core pcs are only avalibe in intel sockets and they dont perform as 3990X even if u pay triple price that u would pay for a 3990X u cant get a intel dual socket that outperforms 3990X
